$389.99 for what is essentially an OUYA: vaporware edition? You got to be kidding me! Also I'm not all that surprised that the "prototype" or what ever is just a bunch of random tech crap crammed into a clear case; It seems that the VCS may go the way of the Coleco Chameleon at this rate. They're getting down graded to "Fish Taco" status for this!

Galaga was my jam when I had Namco Museum DS when I was younger. I have the first two bonus round patterns memorized and would make it to around round 11 or so. I'm probably not as good as I used to be, but I can't help but play a game or two whenever I find a Galaga cabinet.

Are the play heads on the tape deck clean? If not, then it's a good idea to clean them with q-tips and rubbing alcohol, as dirty tape heads can hinder the tape decks ability to read the data off the cassette. It's also a good idea to crack open the tape deck and check if the drive belt is stretched.

The slight redesign is neat and all, but it really doesn't matter much if they keep insisting on showing us renders instead of an actual prototype, which I doubt they will ever build.
I was kinda hoping for Atari to release another update for us to make fun of.
Looks like I got what I wanted. Maybe they were listening...nah probably not. Also since Atari didn't take an eternity to update us this time, here's a triple decker taco.

Delayed again? I was kinda hoping for Atari to release another update for us to make fun of. I bet by the time the pre-order date or "release date" or whatever comes, they'll either cancel the "project" or, more likely than not, delay it again. So while we wait, here's a double decker taco.

My guess is Super Breakout.

Unless there's hard evidence that someone bought the rights from Playaround, it's safe to assume that the game is abandonware. Also why a film adaptation? If anything I think Yars' Revenge is more deserving of a movie.

The flashing screen means the game is generating a maze, which happens both at start up and when the reset switch is pressed, so yeah it's normal. The flashing also happens in Video Chess whenever the computer opponent is making a move. I don't know exactly why it happens though.

This 'interview' is so full of baloney I'm surprised he's not working for Oscar Mayer.
My "console" has a first name, it's A-T-A-R-I. My "console" has a second name, it's F-E-A-R-G-A-L. I doubt it more everyday, and if you ask me why, I'll say: 'cause Atari SA has a way with B-O-L-O-G-N-A.

The Australian accents are super hard to notice in the commercial but they're there and they mention 'Ansett Air Freight' which is an Australian airline. Hopefully this helps you on your quest to find more information about it!
Yeah, I figured it was an Australian commercial.

Here's a commercial for yet another Atari Mcdonald's scratch off promotion called the "Indy 500 Big Mac Attack." I couldn't find any information about this contest or any images of the scratch off cards. Which is a bit strange considering that the 1982 scratch off contest has plenty of information about it.

Why not both?

Some of Atari's early cassette programs, such as States and capitals, Hangman, and Kingdom, use the duel track system while loading the game to brief the player on the games concept and play music.

So I tested pin 2 on the user port, and it doesn't seem to be getting power.
-
The fuse is good?
Checked the fuse and it was good, I've even tried different fuses and nothing's changed.
-
Hi, recently I replaced the power port on my C64 because the old one was faulty, but afterwards turning the C64 on gave me a black screen. I tried bridging the power connections because I tested for continuity with a multi meter and figured out that some of the pins can't send power to the board, but I still got a black screen. Now when I try to turn on the C64, I doesn't even power on. I know it's not the PSU because I've tried two different PSUs and both net the same result and neither the Datasette nor the 1541 react at all to the C64 turning on.

I always wanted to see Atari 8-bit/5200 games be included in an Atari compilation, glad to see they're branching out from just arcade and 2600 games.
-
Definitely Ms. Pac-Man, although I played it on one of those Plug and Play systems I got when I was a kid rather than an arcade machine. Funnily enough, during the first couple of plays, I didn't know that you could eat the ghosts after eating a power pellet, which was something I figured out accidentally. I also remember playing Galaga so much that I got pretty good at it.

New Atari Console that Ataribox?
in Atari 2600

I don't think anybody pointed this out and I didn't notice it until now, but the Ataribox thread is two years old!
Here's to another year of tacos, Speakerhats, and release delays!
