Works fine on GameDrive... graphics style reminds me of Commanche on the PC in the late 1990s I think. Jaguar seems to be well suited to this style of 3D graphics... silky smooth framerate. Great work!

SNES2JAG AV Converter Official Order List
GoldenGraham replied to Judas-Prime's topic in Atari Jaguar
That's good to hear @Rick Dangerous, I assume you got a SNES2JAG adapter on the first batch? I'm hoping @Judas-Prime doesn't have any Home Schooling to do during this Covid-19 lockdown period... so he can get the last 10 units finished and put the next batch of SNES2JAGs up for sale It can't be long now... -
SNES2JAG AV Converter Official Order List
GoldenGraham replied to Judas-Prime's topic in Atari Jaguar
Yes, no pressure whatsoever but would just be useful to know whether the next batch is days away, weeks away, months away or years away? Thanks -
There was no documentation available when I fitted mine in December 2018, not sure if there is any now. I found that reading this whole thread gave me all the info I needed really. You're welcome to read my account here: I think I also found this video very helpful too:

SNES2JAG AV Converter Official Order List
GoldenGraham replied to Judas-Prime's topic in Atari Jaguar
Okay, thanks, my NEC Multisync monitor is a 4:3 screen anyway so hopefully it will fill my screen at the correct 4:3 aspect ratio. So, does the RAD2X output 16:9 or 4:3...? -
SNES2JAG AV Converter Official Order List
GoldenGraham replied to Judas-Prime's topic in Atari Jaguar
Hi, how's progress? Just wondered if it's possible in any way for you to default your output to 4:3 aspect ratio instead of relying on the screen to be able to change it from 16:9 to 4:3. I'm fearing my NEC Multisync 1700NXP will not be able to do this. -
SNES2JAG AV Converter Official Order List
GoldenGraham replied to Judas-Prime's topic in Atari Jaguar
Hi @Judas-Prime As discussed recently on the '276707-jagaur-kitty-box-video-output' thread... please could you add me to your pre-order list for your next batch of 39 SNEStJag (with toggle switch) adapters. Once available, please let me know how to order. Many thanks and keep up the great work ? -
Hi, I tried one of those converter boxes from eBay, it's terrible as it displays significantly off centre with about 10 percent of the top and left edges of the picture missing off the screen, and the display position cannot be moved. The NEC Multisync 1970NXP is documented as 31kHz minimum frequency but like many flat screen monitors can actually cater for the lower 15kHz frequencies of the Atari ST, Falcon and Jaguar. That's why I bought this NEC monitor. It works fine with my ST and Falcon but I can't get a decent display on it from my Jaguar. This SNES2Jag + RAD2X option seems like the best and most affordable option available. See: http://www.atari-wiki.com/index.php/Flat_Panel_Displays

Wow I didn't realise I'd like the smoothed version as much as I do. Do you know approximately when you'll be able to start shipping your next batch of 39...? Also can you confirm whether the Snes2jag interface or RAD2X interfaces require power at all? You mentioned in one of your articles about power but I can't see any power leads or power connectors on the RAD2X website pages.

Yes that would be great when you find time. I seem to remember the Scatbox and CatBox are very similar in terms of pinouts... however I'm happy to 'test' a prototype of your SNES2ScatBox interface (once developed) on my CatBox if you like? To achieve HDMI output for Catbox/ScatBox owners like me who don't actually use their Catbox/ScatBox for anything these days... it would be far simpler to just use... Jag + SNES2Jag + RAD2X instead of... Jag + Catbox + SNES2ScatBox + RAD2X I'm just amazed that the KittyBox and this RAD2X (with SNES2Jag) currently seem to be the ONLY options for getting a modern high quality display out of my Jag. If anyone knows of an effective way of connecting Jag+Catbox directly to a NEC Multisync 1970NXP monitor... then please tell Otherwise, as the KittyBox is not currently available, it seems that 'SNES2Jag + RAD2X' is the only option, right? Thoughts?

Hi, thanks, just read that thread you linked me to. Sounds amazing and I'm very interested in one of your next 39 snes2jag adapters (with the new power regulator switch) to use with RAD2X. Before I join your pre order list however, I wondered whether or not you know of a RAD2X cable that can be used with a Jag with a CatBox fitted? Or if you know of any other way to connect the CatBox RGB connector to a HDMI, DVI or VGA screen? The reason I ask is that I have a CatBox but so far have been unable to find anything (other than a HDMI upscaler which is awful) that will connect it to my NEC Multisync 1700NXP screen. Your thoughts? Thanks.

Hi, what is a 2JAG device? RAD2X sounds interesting. If there's another way to get HDMI OR DVI output from my Jaguar then I'm very interested. So please tell me more about your RAD2X and Jaguar connection. I just looked up RAD2X and they seem to have cables available for most retro consoles but not the Jaguar. So how have you managed it? The Twitter user does not accept direct messaging unfortunately.

I'd be interested in this if it's still for sale?

Okay many thanks FlashJazzCat. I watched your video through. My black screen cut out seems exactly like yours, although I haven't noticed any other graphical glitches that you've mentioned. Did your 'cut out' only happen on the more graphically intensive games/demos too? So it seems like I need an 'older' firmware version. Do you know what that 'timing fix' was for exactly in the latest version? and why aren't all Sophia users affected by this 'video cut out'...? Seems like a right hassle to re flash the firmware. It would be much appreciated if you can let me know where I can get the correct version of firmware, plus the cable/connector and the necessary PC software. Great video btw, I think U1MB will be the next mod for my 800xl followed (at some point) by the stereo mod. Many thanks, Graham

Hi folks, since fitting my Sophia, whilst playing many of the graphically more intensive games... the screen (NEC MultiSync LCD1970) will suddenly go totally blank (black)... and then return to normal a few seconds later... and then cut out again a few seconds later... and so on. It doesn't happen so often on the less graphically intensive games, nor on the menu screen of my Ultimate Cart. Has anyone experienced this before, with or without Sophia... or have any suggestions how I can fix? Do any old components need replacing? Thanks, Graham.

Enabling music & sound FX mixing within Jaguar Doom source.
GoldenGraham replied to DEATH's topic in Atari Jaguar
Great work here guys. Perhaps... anything that doesn't fit into a 4mb ROM release could be released as a larger downloadable ROM for JagSD/Skunk users. Perhaps a physical SD release if you're selling £ it. Are they all 'original' maps that you will include in the release... from the original Doom 1 and Doom 2 (and level pack) releases for the PC...? Or some 'home made' maps too perhaps? -
Received my JagSD cart yesterday (phew!), many thanks for a thoroughly professional and much needed product SainT. You have most definitely secured your seat with the Atari gods in the next life and you deserve every penny you get from this project in this life. The cart looks amazing and feels 'reassuringly' heavy. The interface is fantastic especially when used with MRQ files... I'd love to see a similar interface for the LynxSD. Looking forward to seeing your first efforts at a new Jag game SainT ! JagSD will breathe many years of new life and interest into my Jag. Looking forward to seeing what kind of things happen with JagSD... once all 600-700 people get their hands on one. I've been collecting ROM files of the carts I have for years whilst waiting for JagSD. The vast majority of them work fine which is more than I'd ever have hoped. Occasionally I come across a random graphics/sound demo ROM or such like that gives the red screen of death... but most probably they are duff roms or unsupported file type. It would be useful to add a list of supported ROM file types to page 1 of this thread (.jag, .j64, .rom). I haven't checked all of the main ROMS yet but the only one of any significance at this stage I've found doesn't work is 'Aircars (world)' which gives the red screen of death. Save games in PowerDrive worked fine for me but then I was using the mrq files that someone posted here. I'll apply the fix for this when I get a mo, thanks SainT. I'll keep you posted about any other issues I see SainT... but all looks great after day 1, very impressed. Does anybody have any tips/links on the whereabouts of harder to come by cart ROMS such as BS, IS2, Towers2, Worms, Zero5, Breakout2000 ? Does anybody know what [a1] or [a2] means in some ROM file names...?
-
Mortified! Instead of seeing my JagSD Cart on my door step on my return from work today, I got a "We missed you" card from Royal Mail . It needs a signature so I've rearranged delivery for Thursday, bummer! Once I have it my report will be with you SainT Sorry, just wanted to share my pain with you guys!
-
Thanks, yes I can run XEX files, and I have joystick control of the menus, so that answers my question, looks like I already have the latest version. Has anyone else in the user community written any alternate firmwares for Ultimate Cart? ATR file support is the main thing it is lacking I feel.
-
Many thanks, do you know when this latest version was released...? and what version my cart (purchased Nov 2017) is likely to be? Also, is there likely to be any future firmware releases for UltimateCart ?
-
Hi, yes my chip number is 10M08SAE144C8G, the PCB is numbered # 024. So, do you know how I can check my current firmware version or how/where I can obtain the latest firmware? Thanks.
-
Does anyone know the latest Firmware version number for the UltimateCart and where to download it from? Also does anyone know how to check the current firmware version on my UltimateCart (purchased in November 2017)...? Thanks.
-
AVGCart looks good @Philsan. Turns out I actually bought my Ultimate Cart back in November 2017. So this is the first time I've ever heard of AVGCart. Tech moves on fast... even in Atari world! So at the risk of straying off topic for too long, do tell how AVGCart is now #1.
-
Yes, I reviewed the market about a year ago and I figured the 'Ultimate Cart' was the best available at the time for my 800xl, and probably still is. See this video for a demo...

I submitted my pre-order 10 minutes in... and got pre-order number 68, hopefully nobody else got that number too? So looks like that gets me into batch #1. I like the fact you can download the manual and various other non-commercial games/demos from https://new.retrohq.co.uk/shop/atari-jaguar-sd-flash-cartridge too. Great work SainT and many thanks once again. It would be really interesting to hear how your sales go... i.e. how many orders you receive in the first hour, first day, first week etc.... just to give us all an idea of the user base.
