I have a ton of stuff that eludes me because it all got hella expensive and I can't just stumble on $6 games at thrift stores anymore.
I do miss those days!
I should also add my missing homebrews to the elusive items I seem to miss out on all the time...
4-Tris
Flintstones Keyboard Fun
Ghostbusters
Quo Vadis
Same Game & Robots (I'm looking for the Intellivoice version)
Smurf: Rescue in Gargemmel's Castle
Space Cant (I'm looking for the Intellivoice version)
Space Invaders
Super Mine-FieldBy my count there are 159* current homebrews either released or announced and on order so only missing 9** is pretty amazing to me.
*This number varies depending on what you consider to be a homebrew. 159 is my current definition, I'm not looking to debate this, no one person's count is correct or incorrect.
**Meaning having at least one version of each title, ie: any one of the four versions of 4-Tris would check that title off for me. I'm not looking to get every variation.

The Learning Fun games were the last two I found to complete my 125. I have long been of the opinion that LF II is actually the rarest game as it comes up for auction in CIB form far less than Spiker does.
Oddly, I have had the absolute worst luck finding a simple USA version of the PGA Golf manual in decent condition. They never seem to be in mint shape whereas all the rest of my gatefold games have nearly perfect manuals 🤷♂️

That one really made me sad! 😢
why would anyone do this? I don’t get it.
My hope is that these were all damaged boxes and this was the best salvage job they could do. Doesn't look like it though. My assumption is that these were done decades ago before they had any real collectable value and someone just wanted to have all the same size boxes.
One more reason why someone needs to do a run of gatefolds for all the post Mattel games that never had them. Would be an awesome way to store loose rare carts.

That's cool. I have a bunch of Mattel shells I can sacrifice at the alter of Intellivision Revolution as well

Or you could bring them to PRGE. 🤔
I didn't think Coleco shells would be needed in Portland but I am happy to bring a decent amount if anyone wants/needs them 👍

No reservations, no pre-orders. When I've got a batch of about 10-20 ready to mail out, I'll put them up on my website for sale, and post here. I'll repeat as necessary, until everyone who wants one has one. During these cycles, the price will remain as the "introductory" price.
Do you need any more Coleco shells? I have a bunch I can send you.

This is where I’m getting confused. I haven’t seen these cheap shots- certainly not on these forums anyway.
William, Rev, Casey and myself have all pointed them out in this very thread. But if you need a direct example...
2 hours ago, MrBeefy said:I compared him in regards to lying, not scamming. His brag about awards was also Tallarico-like and just needed him to mention holding a Guiness World Record and it would be like perfect.

I mean is the next thing he's going to do, is start sending private messages to people in private about the consoles announced-not-announced? Rallying troops to keep the faith that an FPGA is still in the works and totally a thing they are working on? That if anyone makes comments about it they are haters, mentally unstable, or like murderers? 🤪
... this^ is what I have been talking about. Over and over again, the need to pretend William's interview is anything like the Amico fiasco. It falls somewhere between stubborn denial over getting called out for a ridiculous amount of hyperbole and tinfoil hat conspiracy nuttyness.

LF I and II on ebay accepting offers. I am at 113/125, so looking to get some of the "cheaper" ones before I throw down $2K or whatever for these 2.
If it's the 2 listings I'm thinking of, I believe the tape on each should come off decently well. That kind of clear tape with the strings running through it generally keeps from drying out too much over time. So if you start from the low end and SLOWLY peel up towards the box edge, you should be able to remove the bulk of it. Then it's just a dab of Goo Gone or Goof Off to remove the glue residue.

I can't speak for jerseystyle, but it's always telling when someone shoo's away discussion about Amico, or downplays the significance.
It's not that people are shooing away or downplaying Amico talk. There are plenty of threads here on those exact topics. The issue here is folks projecting it on to people that essentially have no connection to it just because they can't get over their anger. IE screwed over everyone, even those that didn't even give them any money by tarnishing anything Intellivision related going forward. But that's no reason to snipe at the reputation of someone who had nothing to do with it.
45 minutes ago, Sweet and Tender Hooligan said:The Amico is still going on, isn't it? In fact, the Amico Forever panel discussed these BBG consoles that were announced by William on their Amico show this Wednesday.
And? People are talking about the thing William did an interview on. How does that make him Tommy?
45 minutes ago, Sweet and Tender Hooligan said:Is there a place to talk Intellivision Entertainment? Do they have their own thread?
You expect us to believe you don't know how to start a topic or how the search function works? Protest too much indeed.

Well said! That about sums it up.

Any reason why you left the actual point of that post out?

One of the most interesting things about this whole mess is how soooo many former TT cultists show up every few months to insult everyone else for, essentially, being correct and showing good judgement. Just admit you were played for a fool and move on. Everyone gets scammed at some point. There’s no shame in that… the shame is in doubling down and getting hyper defensive/aggressive. Until IE returns the money they STOLE (with support from many people on AA) I think it’s fair game to make sure that theft remains part of the conversation.
Who here in this thread do you are think are TT cultists? Who here do you think is doubling down or being defensive/aggressive in defending Tommy or IE in any way? The only person being defended here was William because he was laughably being labeled as the next Tallarico as if he here were trying to resurrect the Amico itself.
If you want to have conversations about IE and all their ills, be my guest. It's not like everyone here hasn't been engaged with that discussion for years now. But when IE becomes the reason people decide to take cheap shots at real creators or publishers who've actually delivered in making games/products for our favorite system, then it's gone beyond valid discussion.

BBG isn't IE, but the projects are still going to be tied to that company in some way. That matters and is relevant to point out.
BBG doesn't have any track record of shipping hardware before, they are known for releasing a handful of low budget games you'd find buried on the Nintendo shop.
If it were Evercade who were involved then I'd have a hell of a lot more faith in these projects.Being tangentially connected does have some relevance but not so much that people need to go full witch hunt mode and start comparing everything to the entire Amico fiasco to the point of pretending it's happening all over again. Discussing BBG's track record is perfectly valid but that barely happened here before the torches and pitchforks came out. I have basically no faith in anything like this coming out until I see a product being displayed for sale, but I'm still not going to blow a gasket every time the slightest connection or reference to IE or the Amico comes up either.
IE is still (barely) a thing and, as long as it holds certain IP rights, it's just something we are going to have to deal with anytime something new tries to reach the market. It's unfortunate but it's also no reason to attack people for trying to do something IE failed miserably at.

The best way to keep this thread from being moved is stay on the topic of the 2 new consoles. Yes, that does include licensing by I.E.
Conversely, if this thread is dominated by the Amico, Tommy Tallarico, lost $17 million, etc then this thread is instead about that modern console and should be moved out of here.
That's going to require all the ATSD (Amico Traumatic Stress Disorder) sufferers here to accept that BBG is not IE and their possible console(s) is/are not the Amico to move the f&$k on already rather than see the Ghost of Tommy Tallarico everywhere they look.
I'm not holding my breath though.

Same can be said about people using social media platforms and acting like they didn't say anything.
Um, no. Those are two entirely unrelated subjects. I get that you're wanting to be seen as "winning an argument" on the internet but you've missed the entire nuance of having a discussion and are just reaching at this point.
18 hours ago, MrBeefy said:He mentioned now being able to talk about two projects. Labeled himself as a consultant. That's an announcement. If you are going by some stupid metric of they aren't for sale or something that's flat out dumb. Movies and a bunch of projects are announced without being asked for money or having set dates.
No one forced him to do the interview. To deny making an announcement is a lie. Let us go to the tapes....
It's great that you feel that way and all, but I'm the not the one sayin it wasn't an announcement. William doesn't believe it was and you do. I can see both sides of that, given the video. So you can have that conversation with him if you'd like but this need to present evidence in response to me like I'm the judge here is just bizarre.
18 hours ago, MrBeefy said:So once again denying he made announcements made is a flat out lie. If I get the chance I'd be more than happy to tell it to his face. I've had to have harder reality discussions with people in my line of mental health work. 🤦
Truth is in the eye of the beholder. He believes since he made no offer, showed no prototype, requested no money and was looking for open source creators to potentially help with the project, that it's not really an announcement. You believe talking about it at all, regardless of the intent, is the strict definition of one. Again, I see the point for both, but "lying" in this context would imply some intent to deceive for gain, hence your comparison of Willy to Tommy. I just don't see that here, announcement or not. Even so, trying to bolster your position by comparing those two is preposterous.
And if you are truly this incapable of understanding point of view in regard to human interactions, to the extent that some rando on a message board has to educate you on the topic, I sincerely hope your line of mental health work is limited to maintenance or custodial duties at such a facility.
18 hours ago, MrBeefy said:The need to visualize yourself delivering a knockout blow on the internet would merely be sad if it wasn't for the irony that Bugs Bunny actually wins that fight...

You're 0-2 on the memes now. Maybe try something else?

Okay. But the implication is that if they said it to his face he would punch them. I.E using violence to settle a score based on words. I think in this day and she that’s not the kind of vibe I’d put out there but if he stands by it, fine.
No, the implication is that people feel far too comfortable playing fast and loose with their words from behind a keyboard. IE: speaking in a way they never would in real life rather than using the proper amount of tact. I think if you ever met Willy you'd know he isn't going to threaten anyone.

Honestly, my hope is that the more valuable titles on that list are simply re-issued to save me the expense. I believe that's the only way I'm ever getting a copy of Smurf.
