Who made the announcement? Was he forced to make an announcement? When making said announcement did he give out all correct information? That interview was his choice and from everything I can tell was in complete control of the words that came out of his mouth.

After said interview he went to act like others are at fault. So much so that Mike seems to feel at fault and he shouldn't. He also asked No Swear Gamer to take down his video acting like it could be a reason to get the second project ended.

Which isn't true. It is playing a victim and blaming others for shooting his wad way before he should have. That's the reality of the situation, and the way others like Tallarico acted. Which let me remind everyone that the only reason NSG made a video is because he talked about the BBG deal. All roads to this situation lead back to him making the choice to go on social media and talk about it.

If BBG gave him bad information that sucks, and I feel for him. BUT that isn't mine or anyone else's fault for pointing it out. That lies with him and BBG. He even identified himself as a consultant for BBG.

I will leave a quote too!!!

"It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt."
    - Mark Twain

He didn't see it as an announcement of anything. Just talking about a project that was in the works. You saw it as an announcement of a product coming to market. You both have a point. But accusing him of lying rather than offering your take on the matter was the issue. And pretending that William doing an interview on a small YT channel, where he may have been misinformed, was flat wrong or maybe even clueless about what he was talking about, is somehow on the same level as Tallarico making tons of promises, taking money and not paying it back while dragging the Intellivision name all to hell and back is a bit much.

The man said he messed up and would not be doing anything of the sort going forward. If he does, you can call him out for it but acting like he's the new Video Game Grinch is just blowing things way out of proportion.

Oh, and if you're going to post a quote to call the intelligence of others into question...

    ...maybe check the source first?

Um… are you threatening people? I gotta say man you might wanna re think posting this. I haven’t seen anyone disrespect you or Mike, but the internet tough guy act isn’t going to bring much support to be honest. I think you both got thrown under the bus by IE and John Alvarado, so maybe flex in their direction instead?

That's not a threat, simply a statement of fact. People play fast and loose when it comes to attaching names/fault/labels to others online because they have no fear of ever having to say it to their faces. Pointing this out is not some kind of "internet tough guy act".

As far as William not being disrespected, I think MrBeefy stating, "IMO it was the person making the erroneous announcement who is more at fault. Denying that it was an announcement is some Tallarico level of honesty too" is a pretty clear cheap shot to throw at anyone. If Beefy wants to disagree about whether that interview constitutes an announcement, that's fine, but comparing Willy to Tallarico and the amount of shady activities he brought to bear in the Amico disaster was way out of line. William came here, posted his side of the events and apologized for his mistake. People can have a different take on things but blatantly calling him a liar was uncalled for.

My take is that you have a unique item (as far as we know).  Don't take off the sticker so you end up with a regular Astrosmash painted-label cart with some minor damage where the sticker took off some paint.

When I found the first white box FC Carnival, this is like someone saying, "If you grab some markers and paint it blue, you can make it look like a regular Coleco Carnival box!"

I think you should keep it and brag about your unique item or, if you don't want it, see who will pay/trade you the most for it.

    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Actually, I respect your opinion even if I happen to disagree with it but it's much more fun to boo someone  :D

I've never had a decal over a painted title. What are the chances of removing it without damaging the paint?

    Should be pretty easy.

    Ok..

    Here it is.

Pull or no Pull?  The Tron decal is too thick to see what painted title is.

It would be awsome if its actually a painted TRON label!

    DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I checked,.. no painted lock n chase here.

Im sure theres a bunch out there. They easily get overlooked in pics.

Do you guys know what box they might come in? G1 or intelliv inc? Has to be a late one or an international variant.

No Idea really. I doubt they would be an international variant just because they all seem to be made in the US. I don't even know if they would be late or even original run copies to be honest.

Mystic Castle was released in a board only form for a limited time from Intelligentvision in late 2016-early 2017 range.

A cart label, instruction book and overlay kit was made separately as were the boxes.

Everything was incredibly well made and the folks involved know who they are!😊

I have no idea what you are talking about. 😏

  7. 4-Tris, BC's Quest for Tires, Blix, Blow Out, Deep Pockets, Hard Hat, King of the Mountain, League of Light, Minehunter, Missile Domination, Princess Quest, Robot Rubble, Same Game & Robots, Space Cadet, Space Cunt, Space Patrol, Space Raid, Sydney Hunter, and soon Peter the Pea have all been reissued at least once in either different packaging or by a different publisher. If all of those were not enough to crash the market, I doubt these proposed 4 games are going to have that effect either.

I'm not keen on the idea to reissue games that haven't even sold out their original run, since I'd rather give folks a shot at past games they may have missed out on, but I don't believe this will have any noticeable effect on the market in general.

I think that 20 years later, an even better implementation can be made with, many more bells and whistles, in IntyBASIC.  Not that there is anything wrong with the original 4-Tris itself -- but the Intellivision programming community has gain quite a lot of knowledge and experience in the intervening years to exploit the hardware even more!

Even better! I'm all for an upgrade.

I know that the (value) of each of these games is speculative, and worth what someone is willing to pay. But, it still makes me feel bad for unsuspecting bidders when they get bidded up.

For the people out there that complain about "sniping", this is exactly why so many bidders prefer to wait till the last second. As much as I hate having to do that, you can't bid me up when I post my lone bid with 3 seconds left 🤷‍♂️

I'll add that the off-white color of the box, likely from aging, matches my original non-repro Spiker box.

I was thinking the same thing but I don't know enough about photography to tell if I was really seeing that or if it was just the lighting in the pics.

I chatted with the seller,  my feeling is that he’s a good guy, he sent me the box sides and flaps pictures…IMG_3625.thumb.jpeg.9cc8be2572ccaf929b28393633a40228.jpegIMG_3624.thumb.jpeg.a728f48ba4cf58a6afa877714cc417f5.jpegIMG_3623.thumb.jpeg.631266b7408f00b80e4fffbb128d9b19.jpegIMG_3622.thumb.jpeg.3626230ff4237614d9cdf95ed8dc414c.jpeg

That is fantastic! Yeah that box is legit alright. My copy also has the slightly rounded top and bottom flaps even though the sides stayed nice and flat. I'm thinking that is something with the light gloss coating over the cardboard of this era where it warps the smaller pieces over time the same way we see shrinkwrap do with unopened games sometimes. Either way, this is a pretty nice condition copy of Spiker. Someone is going to be really happy with it if they can keep it under $2K, lol

Watch it be a repro box. It looks almost too much in good condition. :P

if I was the bidder, I would get it in writing from the seller first that it is an original box (ask for a picture if the bottom inner flap - the reproduction boxes have a label that says they are reproductions).

curious to see how high it goes…

Not a bad idea to get reassurance on the authenticity but I'm pretty sure this is a legit box.

    1. The front of the box has some indentation along the entire left side by the end fold.

    2. There is a crease in the same side at the bottom half.

    3. The bottom left flap is slightly bent down.

    4. On the right side of the back by the end fold, there is either a smudge or some loss of gloss about 2/3 the way up that edge.

    5. There is some kind of stain or spot just under the screenshot on the back right.

    6. The top left corner on the back is slightly dented in.

    7. There is another smudge under the INTV Corp info at the bottom center of the back.

All of that could be replicated on a reproduction box but that is a LOT of detail to have to fake. It looks like real ageing to me. I'm around 95% certain this is all original. Hard to tell on the manual or cart label though.

Also, I have no connection to this item or the seller. Just my "certified cardboard expert " observations :lolblue:

Double also, those are all pretty minor defects for a game this rare and that old. It's a solid 7/10 condition-wise assuming the manual and cart are also legit and that the sides are not crushed. I'd be asking for pictures of the box sides and the cart running on real hardware more than anything else.
