Is that the final price? WOW! Just imagine if it had a box... lol
-
I just got the cart last month. Had the manual from a random lot of stuff for years though. Really loved playing it the last couple of weeks when taking a break from Piggy Bank, lol. I got tired of seeing it always going for over $50 or with boxes in really bad condition. So I just picked up a cart cheap and made my own repro box for it. Great game!

There will not be any kind of official release that I know of. Just a renegade box I made with some input from BBWW. I'll post some more pics in the Piggy thread when everything is ready. -
Took that one down years ago but haven't touched in in a decade at least. Granted there are a lot of INTV games that don't really have an end but getting past every level at least once counts I think. After that it's all a matter of high score I guess.

You mean this? LCC don't miss nutin' yo! -
Level 6 is still owning me! I'll get it soon though. Never played an INTV game I eventually didn't beat!

Glad you were able to track one down. Was this the last this variant that you needed? -
Man this really makes me want to attend! But I'd have to give up a year's worth of actual collecting to be able to afford half of what it would take to go. At least we have the PRGE photo threads here to get a nice look in on the event.

Ugh! I'm still stuck on level 6 but I haven't had time to play much this week. I'll get there eventually though. I'd bet my last Bacon Dum Dum on it!

Another Math Fun with the COLOR TV text in the artwork: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1979-Mattel-Intellivision-Model-2609-with-12-Games-Cards-Manuals-/181935055781?hash=item2a5c2ca3a5:g:z~QAAOSweuxWS8XW Kind of expensive if this is all you need from this lot though. It is complete and looks like it is in very good shape from what you can see in the pics. -

I'm in the same boat as you being poor and all, lol. But I have a spare Backgammon box if you would like it. No overlays or manual but it's yours if you can use it. Rather see it go to a good home and be paired up with a working cart again. I love this idea of yours too. I can't think of anything better as a birthday present, giving or receiving, than to complete a game :-) -
I had never even heard about Spiker when I first got back into Intellivision in 2006. I was stunned there were even 125 games out for it. So when I first started seeing that game break the $800-$1000 mark on eBay I actually became a little depressed to think that the hobby I had just begun would actually be out of my reach. But finding gems like Pole Position and World Series MLB mixed in with game and system lots for cheap gave me some hope that one day it might happen with Spiker or Stadium Mug Buggies. Dream on I guess
-
Yeah I have done very well staying in budget. Most people don't hit the 100+ game range spending as little as I have. It takes a lot of luck though. Finding stuff like Hover Force or Pole Position, stuffed in a lot with a system and 20 other games I can sell back, for a cheap Buy It Now. You wind up getting back as much as you spend but you have to check everyday and be lucky enough to be the first one to see lots like that. That and being broke enough to not have the option to splurge on even decent deals. Some would call that patience but really I just don't have an option, lol I was saving up for weeks just to buy a Jetsons cart for a repro box I had made when Piggy Bank came up. Was happy to nab my first homebrew and wait on George and the gang though. Those will always be out there :-)
-
Um... I don't. Well I have a set of original overlays for it though, but yeah... no My collection works like this, think of each series of original 125 games (Mattel, INTV, Imagic, Atari, and so on). Now think of the rarest game or two of each run (Fathom, Worm Whomper, Spiker, and such). Those are the 17 games I'm missing. Even some of my 108 don't really count since they are just carts I lucked into on the cheap and had to make my own boxes/manuals/overlays for, like Commando, Thunder Castle, Turbo, and Melody Blaster. The rarest game I own would be Piggy Bank, lol.

I was about to post "Now which one of you did this?!?" here but then I saw who had put up the sale, lol. I think you should have let it go to auction though. I feel you would have got more than $55 eventually. -

I feel like the majority thought in this community is that fully boxed games are the preference but if the game is actually worth playing a cart/baggie release is more than fine. -
Your top 10 games wanted on Intellivision
the1hatman replied to Rev's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Don't think I can come up with 10 but here are some games I'd like to see: 1. Spy Hunter - with the awesome music, Intellivision style 2. Demon Blaster - An updated Melody Blaster using Demon Attack baddies as the notes to destroy with keystrokes that make music 3. Double Dragon - My favorite original NES game 4. Tie Fighter - Space Battle with a Star Wars theme 5. Lord of the Rings - Should really be a series like the D&D games were 6. Monopoly - Yeah I said it! 7. Harry Potter and the Chessmaster - Bring Wizard's Chess aspects to the Intellivision 8. Oregon Trail - You know you'd play it! 9. Star Trek: Borg Wars- Space Spartans with a Star Trek TNG theme and Borg Cubes! 10. Super Pro Curling - What? It'd be fun I tell ya! Hey look at that, I did make it to 10! -

Oh i don't disagree at all. Heck, I'm the guy that makes his own reproduction boxes just so the rarer carts I have lucked into have a home and largely for the reason you just stated. What I was saying was that the gameplay alone was enough to justify creating a game so baggie releases are always welcome even if, as collectors, we never get the boxes we'd like to have for all of them. -

I would vote for cart only since I can make my own boxes and overlays but even I admit that a full release is what 99% of collectors want. If I wasn't on the poor side I'm sure I would be in the full release camp as well but I have thoroughly enjoyed playing the hell out of my copy of Piggy Bank and consider the $40 spent on what is my first ever homebrew to be a steal. A box simply has no effect on the amount of fun you get from playing a new game on a classic system. Though at only 1 game, mine is a tiny sample size for such an opinion.
