I just did exactly that. Here's hoping it helps!

What are you playing on 3DS?
dgdgagdae replied to ComputerSpaceFan's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
Picross 3D was one of my favourite DS titles. But I'm not much into digital only on the 3DS. It looks to have gotten a physical Japan release. -
No.

I want this, but it's digital only, right? -
I really am trying to keep up, but a lot of this is new to me. In order to boot the Game Boy Interface disc, which isn't really a disc, I need an ActionReplay Max, is that right? Does the Max come with the GC memory card and the SD card? Can I buy the special GC memory card and use it with a regular ActionReplay disc, or is the Max disc special? At first, I thought I would need to mod the GC to boot from an SD card. I'm happy to see that's not the case.

Intellivision Flashback Upgrade Service
dgdgagdae replied to Byte Knight's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I bought a used Ultimate Intellivision Flashback (from Carl Mueller, no less), and it had an older version of the RPi and Emulation Station frontend. For a fee, Byte Knight upgraded both the hardware and software for me. It's easily my favourite Xmas gift from my wife this year. I'm having a blast revisiting my youth! It's very well put together, and the Flashback controllers work perfectly with this. -
That's over an hour long. Care to tell me where it is I should start watching?
-
Necrobump, I know. Yell at me in the Necrobump thread, if you like. I just got a GBP for Xmas, and the quite noticeable lag led to me searching and finding this thread. It's really quite bad. I don't have lag on my other Gamecube games at all that I can notice. To be fair, I don't have the most ideal setup. I'm running this through composite connected to a 4K LCD, so there's definitely upscaling going on. But again, I don't notice lag when playing GC games at all. It's especially disappointing, because I just bought an Everdrive GBA to go with this.

8-bit Generation: The Commodore Wars available now
dgdgagdae replied to sm3's topic in Commodore 8-bit Computers
What did you think? It's a bit pricey at $15. I could rent it, but I know that I wouldn't watch it all in 48 hours. -

dgdgagdae replied to sm3's topic in Commodore 8-bit Computers
I'm definitely interested in this, and I see it's available on Steam, too. Did you buy it direct from 8bit Generation? If so, how do you watch it? I'd love to be able to watch it on the iPad, but I'm not sure that's an option. -
I saw that later, and when I went to fix it, I couldn't find the rant I was replying to. I think he edited it to delete it.

Atari Flashback Portable!
dgdgagdae replied to Byron's Reviews's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
I didn't, and I've already returned it. I wish I knew how to describe what I was hearing. There was static, and an interference type sound in the menus and when pausing. I could learn to live with that, since it's not in game. But sounds in game we're often more...scratchy than they should have been. Yars Revenge is the best example I can think of. The sound was so obnoxious in that game, that it made me not want to play it.- 1,499 replies

That's a lot of anger, Quadrunner. To me, just the opposite of what is "obvious" to you is "obvious" to me. The hype was already built in November with scarcity of product. How does it benefit Nintendo at this point to not crank out as many units as possible to try to satiate demand and, more importantly to them, put money in their pockets? I think they have to be producing as many as they can at this point; there is no advantage to purposely short the market at this point. Arguably, doing so during launch made sense - not now.

I considered going to my local store around 6am, after finding out last night that they were going to give tickets away at 7. I figured that was worth an hour of my time. It was 28 degrees and I wanted my sleep though, so I passed. I wonder if most stores had campers like this, which would have made it pointless anyway.

I was hoping so, but I exchanged the first one for another, and it was exactly the same.- 1,499 replies

Atari Flashback Portable!
dgdgagdae replied to Byron's Reviews's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Nice review. For me, the sound is just too bad for me to keep the unit. The buzz is annoying enough, but in game sound is even worse. Yars Revenge.- 1,499 replies

I really had no idea the list would be so long, so it seemed a reasonable question when I asked it!

Atari Flashback Portable!
dgdgagdae replied to Byron's Reviews's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
It's the same price at Toys R Us, both online and in stores. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=96047666&prodFindSrc=search&cp=#findItInStore With something built with the lack of quality of this thing (bad power light on mine, dead pixel on another in the forum, control pad that doesn't always go the direction it should on another guy who posted here...was that you, maybe?), it would be important to me to be able to exchange it in an actual store for a different, possibly better working unit.- 1,499 replies

Atari Flashback Portable!
dgdgagdae replied to Byron's Reviews's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
I'm not familiar with all of the mods here, but I really don't think you have the authority to ban someone. It's sad to think that you'd do that if you could, only because we don't have the same kind of television. I've never seen someone spew so much hatred over one's choice of TV! Until last year, I had a rear projection HD CRT that I absolutely loved. I never noticed lag on it, and it had all of the inputs I needed, except for HDMI that actually worked. It was HDMI 1.2, and it had handshaking problems with anything I connected that way. Lightning took it away in June of 2015, and I could not find anyone who could repair it. I made the decision to buy a Samsung UHD TV. I chose it partly based on inputs, and a lot of the decision was based on a very low lag time. Also, I can now actually connect modern devices to it. To me, it was more important to be able to watch sports in as high of quality as possible, and it was more important than that to be able to enjoy shows and movies with my wife. Playing Atari 2600, NES, and other classic consoles was a little further down the list. But all in all, I think I made a fair compromise and filled that desire as well as I could, too. Overall, it's one of the least important decisions that I'll make over the course of my lifetime. I don't think I'll be on my deathbed lamenting my choice of television. And I don't need some anonymous dickhole telling me how wrong of a decision I made. You're a fun guy. Stay frosty!- 1,499 replies

That's ridiculous. Not everyone, including me, has room in the house for a CRT dedicated to gaming. Many of us have to adapt.- 1,499 replies
