I would try cleaning the contacts to the cart before drilling.  I have had some carts that I have had to spend extra time cleaning before they would work.  I hope that you didn't pay $1,000+ for a bad cart.

I think it was limited to the first 250 buyers.  I bought 2 games but only received 1 patch.  Both of my numbers are very low and I am sure within the first 250 purchased.  I had them shipped together.  Maybe if I purchased separate I would have received a second patch.

You might want to contact Allen Schweitzer on here.  He also sells on eBay.  He refurbishes Astrocade/Bally systems. 

 

I have owned 2 new Ballys out of the box that did not work.  I also have had 2 Ballys break on me.  It is a fantastic system.  One of my favorites.  If you get one be sure not to leave it on carpet.  This is how my first one broke back in the 70's.  Even though the Bally isn't reliable I do recommend getting one.

I saw one of these on Craigslist years ago.  The price was dirt cheap.  Obviously the owner just wanted it gone.  It was only about 40 minutes from my house.  I asked my wife about getting it.  She made it clear that a large Atari kiosk did not go with her ideas of decorating the house.  We are still married so obviously I did not pick it up.

I have been to Jason's store several times but not lately.  He is a very nice guy.  Sorry that he had several items stolen.  Years ago I saw his collection in person and was blown away by it.  He has a great store that is worth checking out if ever in the area.

I sold several of these over the years.  Most sold for $25 to $55 but this was years ago.  These are hard to get now.  If you are ok spending $100 then I would grab it.
