  1. Yeah, I can tell just from the pics I've seen here that the quality is a fairly big step up from those sold at Target. Cant wait to see the cocktail table!
  2. I'll go with Defender II and Millipede. Take graphics out of the equation and I would say Centipede and Ms Pac Man based on gameplay alone. Worst...Pac Man(although I do enjoy playing it....not close...I mean..who chose the colors)
  3. The machine looks increadible. The price is a bit higher than I thought. (as compaired to the machine sold at Target stores) If I ever finish my basement I will be in the market for this. Curt....any plans for a Cocktail table version?
  4. yeah....i think dig dug is a little too original...but if eligable i'd add it to my list
  5. Awsome choice...I'll play this one on my fb2 as this is the only cart i ever "broke". It later recieved a purple heart ...posthumously. Anyway, one of my all time fav's, maybe I won't finish last this week!
  6. Alien has always been great....and one that is sorta pac inspired....Malagai
  7. some games start easy and then get too hard fast, I always score about 5500 on pac man game 1 because it starts too easy and goes straight to too hard. I think a game like frogger is well made because it adds elements of difficulty at a logical pace.
  8. 16,420 I was pretty good at the C-64version of this, but I cant get past the 2nd vine level on 2600.
  9. 8825......I feel like I'm sitting in front of Dean Wormer and he's telling me that "fat drunk and stupid is no way to go through life"
  10. Thanks for the tip SB...I'll try to play again tonight or tomorrow. My game scores as a kid were in the 40,000's so i really want to try to improve and at lest throw up somthing close to six figures.
  11. This just cme to mind cuz we are playing Donkey Kong on HSC this week and the fireballs on that game dont look ANYTHING like fire... While we love the 2600 for it's simplicity, the challange for gamemakers was to create as realistic looking a product as possible. Sometimes, unsuccessfully.....In a funny way. what are some of your all time favorite poorly rendered objects in 2600 history? here are a few of mine 1. fireballs from Donkey Kong.....or ducklings? 2. the torpedoes in AirLock....which look somewhat like half of the man from.....AirLock 3. the "car" in Night Driver...some slack given to the fact that this is an early game, dont get me started about everything in Adventure 4. the "pickle" that chases you if you take too long in a room in Venture.
  12. 47,900 Yeah, Screen 2 is the key...I try to trap the "fireballs"(or as we used to call them...ducklings...based on thier appearence) between the first rivet and the edge but on about the third level they seem to start reversing directions in....what I feel is an unpredictable and random manner. Anybody have a pattern figured out for this?...I dont want any freebies, but is it possible to run one unstoppable pattern to complete the second screen at the higher levels? just curious.
  13. Kept the manuals...threw the boxes away. The first boxes I kept were Sega Genesis because they were plastic and I was more grown up and took better care of my things. The Atari boxes were built to be disposable....cardboard....flimsy...no reason to put the carts back in them. Plus from a marketing standpoint, they envisioned everyone buying a Game Center and placing in the tv stand with the stereo and such.
  14. good point on the ice hockey....I was refering to the 1 player version. I would play 2 player. Also before sports licensing came to the video game business, I would try to guess what teams were featured.. 2600 ice hockey - Rangers vs North Stars C64 4th and inches - Penn State vs Nebraska 2600 Basketball - Lakers vs Celtics I guess I over think things that are supposed to be simple. and ZB, anyone can participate, even guest players.
  15. Anybody have a game they loved as a kid but just hate it now? I have a few that I never play anymore but played the hell out of in my youth. 1. Ice Hockey 2. Congo Bongo 3. Star Voyager 4. Atlantis By the way....Ice Hockey must be by FAR the easiest patch to win of all Activision games.
  16. 34,400 This is one of the many arcade ports that look like crap on the 2600, but gameplay more than makes up for it on this one and most of the others.
  17. got all my old stuff....35 games and my 2600 jr (my first 2600 was a six switch woody which I cant remember how it met it's demise) I keep all my games in one of those old "Gamecenters" along with my fb2, sticks and paddles. I have started work on my "nostalgia room" which will include all my atari stuff, my old stereo, and various memorabilia.
  18. 4950.....thats right.......49 F****in 50....I SUCK! This game was off my radar...I never heard of it until recently...lotsa fun, I vow to improve as it has an adictive quality to it.
  19. 124,700 I want a 9th place ribbon like Focker!
  20. yay! were playing again! great choice for week 1, as I've said before...I love to shoot things in space
  21. SAVE HSC! I think sometimes people dont have time to play on certain weeks here and there, but if somebody misses ...say 3 weeks in a row...they must re-up and start at 0. Also, I think all games should be eligable unless they have been used in the current season. Maybe do a pre season sign up would help generate interest and weed out one timers.
  22. Fireballs look great, I cant wait to see what this plays like with 4 players. This is one of those that will be a great game to throw out there at a party and let everybody give it a try. Keep up the good work!
  23. 46200 I love this game...it is now my favorite shooter using paddles!
