  1. Which is worse-- Superman N64 or Superman the 80s arcade game? Both are pretty awful.

Superman 2600... Or any Superman game for that matter, aren't they all pretty bad except that cool NES one by Kemco?

And he says, "Thank heavens that Dr. Manhattan fellow that started this silly thread is only a disembodied head so that we don't have to see his bait and tackle!"

  3. This week's status message poll: "If you could pick one game that was in development for a console but cancelled before release to be finally finished and released today, what game would you choose and what console would it be for?"

X-Women for Sega Genesis (but I also wish that Ballistic/Accolade hadn't ordered The Code Monkeys to bastardize Turrican II into Universal Soldier).

  4. Having played both extensively this week, the Sega kid in me is pained to admit it but... Super Castlevania IV is a better game than Castlevania: Bloodlines, if only because Super Castlevania IV gives you unlimited continues and Bloodlines only gives you two. The lack of continues makes an otherwise awesome game really frustrating at times.

Hey Trebor, where would you put the Sharp X68000 one on that continuum?

I don't know about a tech demo disguised as a game, but Super Castlevania IV is definitely easier in terms of difficulty than those that preceded it in the series. I liked it a lot as a kid (maybe I was unduly impressed with the quality of the graphics and sound), but I find it considerably less compelling today. I much prefer Rondo of Blood and the one for the Sharp X68000.

  6. I found this strange Golden Axe bootleg today. It claims to be a Windows version requiring Windows 98SE or later and DirectX 8. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/GOLDEN-AXE-Windows-98-XP-PC-Game-Sega-Japan-917A25/312259673033?hash=item48b4207bc9:g:~EUAAOSwqcJbvdXX

That's really too bad, if it was the arcade version it would probably be worth picking up just to see how accurate the emulation was.

Is it based on the Genesis or arcade version? The other ones in the same line appear to be Genesis titles (like Ecco the Dolphin).
