  1. Sometimes the characters (chef and the enemies) float above the burger pieces for a brief time, and then shift downward. Also, for some reason the pepper counter cycles through numbers and letters constantly as you are playing.
  2. That would be rather odd headgear for a fellow shoving crates to and fro in a warehouse.
  3. No, I'm afraid that's just a yellow ball cap with an upturned brim. Welcome to the world of low-res graphics made with double-wide pixels, they require you to stretch your imagination.
  4. Thanks, you are too kind. The truth is I enjoy working with smart and talented people, and contributing to something lasting that the public can enjoy. I felt compelled to step up to make certain that a game of such outstanding quality as this will realize its full potential.
  5. You are my hero for those last 2 images, especially.
  6. I don't know, I used to really enjoy Sorcerer back in the day, but I realize that I am nearly alone in that regard.
  7. Where does one go to buy the standalone version for Windows? I'd be willing to buy it when it's on sale (I already bought the 7800 version).
  8. I just added a new version of the hack (see first post). Dig_Dug_37th_Anniv_Ed.bin
  9. Yeah I realized that, hence the winking smiley emoji. Sometimes it's just hard to let old habits die when one's mind was trained to think a certain way, but I'm learning to let things go, it's just a work in progress.
  10. The Marketing major inside me is convulsing, but I'll let him die a peaceful death as he didn't bring me a dime in my lifetime anyway.
  11. All I was suggesting is that more people could appreciate a generic pun like Shove Off! than something more arcane like a play on your nickname that maybe only a select few know about, but I understand that it's personal so no worries.
  12. Yeah, I knew the title of the original, but wasn't aware of your nickname so didn't realize how it tied in. Kind of an in-joke that nobody else would get though, right?
  13. Is it just me or is Sokoboo a strange sounding name for the game? Wouldn't something like Shove Off! be more apropos (I am aware that there was an American version for a vintage system with a similar title)?
  14. I asked Andrew for a "sprite sheet" of sorts so that I can get started on that for him. It's a quirk of the way that I work, I need to be able to visualize the constraints/parameters that I am working under before I can optimize.
  15. No sir, I never denied that the moon missions took place, so perhaps your hasty assumption was absent of critical thought. I merely questioned the stated purposes for them. I am open to the notion that there may be reasons for them that were classified and undisclosed to the general public. It is not uncommon for governments to keep secrets from their citizenry, but if that statement makes me a foil-hat conspiracy theorist, so be it.
  16. You paint with a broad brush, i.e., that everyone who disagrees with you is a whack job or a wing nut. But if there was little else to be garnered from these ultra-resource intensive and highly expensive moon missions other than more and more piles of geologically similar rocks, why was it necessary to keep returning so many times? You don't have even an infinitesimal iota of suspicion about that?
  17. This game looks fun, for some reason it reminds of that screen in Raiders of the Lost Ark with all of the thieves/bandits scurrying back and forth at high speed. I like the way that the player character can carry the circuit boards, but it looks like you will need to get the flicker under control because the boards keep disappearing.
  18. Holy crap, how did I forget about this game? Shame on me.
  19. It might seem a bit biased, but I like Chaotic Grill the best of all (mostly because Burger Time is one of my all-time favorite games and not because I worked on the graphics). But I also like Dare Devil, Donkey Kong VCS, Mappy, Ninjish Guy in Low-Res World, Space Game, Stay Frosty 2, and Wall Jump Ninja, among others.
  20. I never said that the Apollo missions didn't go to the moon, I merely suggested that that perhaps the original moon landing footage that was shown to the public was faked, for reasons that may or may not be conspiratorial. That link that you provided is very informative though, and makes me call into question whether this line of thinking has any solid basis in reality or rational thinking. I'm still not as 100% convinced as you seem to be that we should always take all of any government's assertions or motives at face value, though, but I am at least now better informed about the particulars of the scientific underpinnings that are often debated with regards to this subject, thanks to you. Still, I think it is more reasonable to allow debate on a subject rather than to summarily dismiss it as you seem to have done with the tone of your post. I think that when people have these sorts of open discussions it is easier to arrive at the truth of an issue than when participants resort to ridicule or derision to discredit those that they don't agree with.
  21. Yes I understand about the Van Allen radiation belts, but maybe it did really happen (using undisclosed alien technology recovered from the Roswell crash site -- the so-called "foil" shielding in the space suits) and the broadcast that was televised to the public was a fake pre-filmed in a desert here on Earth because the government didn't want you to see what was really up there on the moon, including abandoned architecture and technology from an extra-terrestrial civilization.

Thanks for the info, I had no idea about all of the particulars that you laid out in your response. It was very informative and gives a clearer impression of the constraints that you are operating under. First of all, what is the resolution that the game is running at (I'm assuming that it is one of the 160 modes)? If you can send me a sprite sheet of what you currently have (yeah I know that this isn't generally done in the Atari 2600/7800 world, but it helps me to visualize), I will see if I can punch them up for you. This would include the frog protagonist, the flies, the cars, etc. PM me if you are interested and wish to continue this conversation offline.

I have to agree, I like this game so far but maneuvering between the cars is too difficult in my opinion, it seems far too easy to get clipped as the play control is not that fine to avoid so many giant vehicles moving at a fair rate of speed. Also, are the flies only capable of moving in straight lines or can you make them flutter about? Lastly, the sprite graphics (for the frog, the flies, and the cars) seem a bit on the primitive side at this stage, are there any plans to upgrade them? If so, let me know as I would be willing to help out.
  24. Heh, it's not easy making something that looks like a Panama hat with so few pixels, but the intent was to make a hat that was ambiguous looking enough to be interpreted either as a Panama hat or a pith helmet, depending on your bias. I suppose that I could have put one pixel at each top corner of the hat that is the same color as the hat band to simulate shadow/depth there, but I'm not sure if it would look any better (I tried it and it looked a bit odd). It also didn't seem to look right when the top was completely square, with those 2 corner pixels the same color as the hat. So if you've got a better suggestion, I'm certainly open to making adjustments.
  25. Hey, I totally understand, then I hope you don't mind if I post a .gif that I made based on your designs: What do you think, does it look cool?
