I am too, I was just going by their studio work I'll definitely agree with the preference for the first two albums, though.

    Goofy Tech Demo

Now that you mention it, it does look quite a bit like Robotron. I definitely think it looks good enough to make a playable game, if not a flicker-free one. No worse than Asteroids

    Goofy Tech Demo

if you put the white dude about halfway on the bottom white line, you can see where his sprite is being multiplexed. Nice engine! That's a ton of crap moving around... ...but what is it?
  4. Any further development here?

So who was the better drummer, Tommy Ramone or Marky Ramone? I vote Tommy and Dee Dee kicked CJ's ass in terms of playing as well.

You don't have to apologize ...yeah, I posted that because I tried running it through Google and it was completely garbled so I'll just leave you guys to talk in peace

Some langauges, like Italian, are easy to read even if you don't speak it. German is not one of those languages.
  8. Yeah, that one's pretty weird-looking. Maybe I shouldn't consider porting Rogue then?

    lines on screen

I thought the black bar was because Asteroids hides HMOVEs by doing one every line?
  10. So, if you read my blog, I've been talking a little bit about porting Rogue either to the 5200, 8bits, or 7800. I want to port it to 5200, the other two are just my "keeping my options open." I've never programmed for the 8-bits before, so I'm still reading atariarchives.org and all that good stuff trying to get up to speed. Anyway, here's my point in posting this. Rogue pretty much requires a keyboard, right? How would one play Rogue on a 5200 with keypad and joystick? Could it be done, or would the gameplay suffer too much as to actually be enjoyable? I think it'd be okay, using all the keys on the keypad, but on ne sais jamais. It'll be a while before there's any visible sign of progress here, I'm still getting atari++ set up on my Mac
  11. Yeah, the only Data Age game I have is Journey Escape... I played it once.
  12. Here it is. It's just a tech demo, really... a proof-of-concept for using the missle to create the illusion of movement. police_258.bin
  13. I think Infiltrate is at least somewhat enjoyable, too. I might get shot for this, but I don't like any of the US Games titles I own, except maybe Commando Raid.
  14. Why not just add MemCard support? It's the AtariVox without the speech hardware.
  15. Well that sucks. Guess I'll try to throw together an EPROM burner. ...by MARIA cycle stealing, are you saying the emulators leave the 6502 running during MARIA DMA?

    5200 vs. 7800

Totally OT, but that made me laugh for a good ten minutes.

    Label fun

For those of you wondering, is what I'm smoking... not expensive and they make you see Carrie Fisher EVERYWHERE.

    Label fun

Okay, so maybe I'm the only one who sees it ...any more of these, that make no sense whatsoever?

    Label fun

I suppose. And tobacco is cheap enough that you could buy it yourself ...still, its one of the weirder picture labels in terms of relation to the game, n'est pas?

    Label fun

In the face, I think she does bear resemblance to Carrie Fisher... but anyway, whoever she is, she and the Greek facade thing have nothing to do with any of the gameplay elements of Defender! Smart one, Atari...

    Label fun

Okay, so I'm cataloging my latest lot of games from eBay in my Excel File of Atari Doom, and... Why in HELL does the picture label Defender have a picture of a woman who looks conspicuously like Carrie Fisher on it? I've never seen a label that makes less sense.
  22. 1 Joust 2 Robotron 3 Ballblazer (with my girlfriend, anyway. 1-player is boring) ...I don't own that many 7800 games...
  23. Is MESS the only emulator for OS X that is suitable for homebrew development? I really want to program some 7800 stuff, but... I don't have an EPROM burner so emulation is really the only way for me to do it. CC2 is a little out of my starving college student budget.
