  1. Sure did I did have that there and removed it to shorten it after testing, then obviously forgot to put it back!!
  2. T10 to VCC you say??? Ill have a look... By VCC you mean 5v? Is this where T10 connects to the lower side of R23?
  3. The LED mod can be hit and miss, depending on how much time the factory screen has spent showing repetitive images, like Columns for example... Ive seen some totally rooted screens from too much columns... The fluro backlight fades part of the LCD over time, and its almost simular to burn in on a CRT, but in general it has an effect on uniformity for all colours pretty equally. If you ever see a Game Gear where the screen looks look it is divided in 3rds, and the middle has really good contrast, the outers are both washed out, thats Columns... And it cant be fixed without replacing the screen...
  4. Anyone ever struck this using a Gear Master on a single ASIC Game Gear? Its a McWill screen in there, does it with every cart ive tried.
  5. I wouldnt bother with LED mods, its a waste of time, makes hardly any difference to the image. The McWill screen is night and day better and improves battery life just as well.
  6. I didnt bother with it, and personally i wouldnt consider it an option
  7. Ive got a few different 28mm speakers on their way here so ill see just what i can fit inside the Game Gear and see how much nicer i can make it
  8. That is some what debatable.... Sure, the LYNX is significantly more powerful and the sound is far better, but the screen is even smaller, and console is bigger... if not for that screen res being so low vertically, id rate the LYNX a fair bir higher, but it is, and i wont. When you McWill them both, the quality of the original screen is somewhat irrelevant. When it comes to games, the Game Gear can play Master System games too, after a McWill screen mod it does a perfect job, and there are some awesome Master System games out there. The LYNX doesnt really have many that do much for me.
  9. Theyve always been good like that yeah, which is why i pay the higher prices, piece of mind
  10. Indeed I will post results here incase anyone is looking to purchase from this seller
  11. Yeah mate i can only imagine it was a simple oversight, i very much doubt there is an intent to defraud me here. But you know how these things can go, some sellers are f***en brilliant, some are just plain not interested even when it is as obvious as this.
  12. Here is the video of the LYNX 2 all done https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9Y9MD0GTyhg&index=1&list=LLdpQD7KTWe2LKJqQC7mLMbw
  13. Here is a screen shot of the listing i purchased: Clearly says i get the back cover and battery cover, but theyre missing from the package!
  14. Hi all Bought a new rear cover for the LYNX 1 from Videogamesource on ebay, but it came without the rear cover! Ive contacted the seller and will report results, hopefully they can sort it out because i paid $72 AUD for that and only got a battery tray and cart door. Has anyone else got experience with this seller, good or not so good?
  15. Where in Australia are you? The speaker could be rooted, $1.30c off ebay delivered to your door for 2 of them, so cheap its not funny!
  16. Yes i know that, but in the grand scheme of things, the LYNX is pretty easy to do really. Obviously some skill is required yes, a bit of practice on a circuit board youll never use again would be a good way to start.
  17. I know this is an old thread, but there is a bit of mis-information in it... The important things are: - the speaker is the 'load' to the amp - current flow = voltage / impedance ( I = V / Z ) - watts = current X voltage ( P = I x V ) - the amp does not "push out" anything. It supplies a voltage, and current flows according to impedance. - Lower impedance = higher current flow - higher current flow = higher wattage. The wattage rating of the speaker is somewhat irrelevant to much at all, it is certainly not a figure of how much itll take pushed in before it blows.
  18. The LYNX will most likely be failed capacitors. The LYNX 2 could be that, but could be a short on the brightness wheel too. Can you see an image if you look on extreme angles?
  19. Sonic 1 is awesome! Not much else to speak of that really stands out for me.
  20. That is certainly capacitors, ill second that. Got a few here that do the same. You should look at doing the McWill screen, sounds as though youve got the skills, and its actually not too hard to do anyway. The only thing you're gonna regret is not doing the mod sooner. Here is a couple videos i took last week of mine: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XwsfgJ5WuuM https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9Y9MD0GTyhg
  21. Glad i looked first, was just about to ask this! I have 9 here, 5 are LYNX 2, i cant find the screen lens anywhere for either one of them! Does anyone have links to where we can get these items for our LYNX? I McWill'd 1 of each over the past week, i dont even play them, but im so impressed im going to McWill the whole lot!
  22. Hi, can i order 2 please? Include the shell but no need to fit that. Cheers
  23. So if the unmodded LYNX will operate on as low as 4.5v, why cant the power bank just be wired straight up to the battery terminals and go from there? Seems logical to me, the OP says the unmodded unit will run that low, wouldnt this be the safest option?
  24. Well i finally got around to doing my LYNX 1 install... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XwsfgJ5WuuM The video says it all, and further info in the description.
