  1. Interesting, thank you both. Nick, thanks especially for trying it now I know it works on your enhanced it should work on mine. EDIT: it works, the SD floppy emulator had been in slot 7 on the machine. (I bought it this way) I moved to slot 6 and the game now works. Thanks again.
  2. Hello All, in terms of Apple I am new here but have some II+/IIe experience from my youth. I now have a IIe with no floppy drives but with an SD Disk ][ Plus storage solution. I have put many .DSK on the SD and they all work. Sadly except my favorite Apple game as a little kid that I want to show my son, Old Ironsides. I have tried 5 different versions, from Asov, TOSEC, and elsewhere but none work. Black screen with square bracket, no cursor. I am able to play it on the Mac via emulation in Virtual II. The manual for the game says "Old Ironsides will work on any Apple* or Apple II Plus* with 48K and a disk drive with DOS 3.3 (16 sector)" but I am very rusty on my IIe abilities so I don't know if one of those specifications is the root of my issue. So I have a couple of questions, does anyone else have similar hardware (SD storage) and is able to play the game? Or is it somehow not compatible? Many thanks. KB
  3. Hi All, I had intended on learning assy for drawing on the 8-bits but I need to focus elsewhere. Sorry but I am not interested in trades. EDIT: I had asked for offers but I didn't receive any, so I will do some research and come up with a price. Since I don't have a price I feel like I should remove (or ask to have removed) this post. I will ask Al to do so. Cheers, thank you for your interest. KB
  4. Hello Smart Atarians, Can someone explain how the keyboard beep is generated? Is there a technical definition of the sound somewhere? Is the POKEY involved at all or is it some "clicks" at some Khz like the Apple II? Thank you for reading this. Cheers, KB
  5. As a kid back then, the local Commodore dealer in my Canadian town had a display called "The Gold Disk" and each issue was a focus on some topic. I specifically remember one issue that I should have bought was about raytracing. The raytracer used hires monochrome mode and the image on the back of the envelope or box had a picture of dithering shaded spheres. It may have been a Canada-only thing. Thanks for reading this, I hope someone has heard of it or better, has them. Cheers, KB
  6. Same on OpenEMU on Mac (which uses ProSystem) second fire button does not work in Dark Chambers.
  7. Thanks for that Q, makes sense and I want to support people that make these games.
  8. Thank you again @jgkspsx I'll ask.
  9. Bumping this thread if anyone knows of MVBD availability. I'd like to extract a (non-prototype) ROM for my own use in emulation since I don't yet have a Vectrex. Thanks. KB
  10. Ah, that is interesting. I never thought of that, I want to support SK, so that sounds like a plan, In a way, it’s a shame to buy a dumper for 1 cart. I am also the kind of person who would never distribute it. thanks for the information. KB
  11. Oh man! That would have lit me up as a kid. I wish that would have come out.
  12. Hi All, If I had a Vectrex I would have bought the Dark Tower cart from SK right away. The DT boardgame has always kind of been my white whale. Anyway, since I have to use files instead, I have seen several named files out there. What is the definitive file to play via Vectrex emulation? And secondly, what makes Mr. Tafts different enough to be mentioned here and there. Thank you. KB
  13. Thanks! It’s nicer to use. If I wanted to continue this project I’d probably add easily swappable overlays.
  14. Forgive the story but it gives background: as a little kid I saved my allowance and bought the Atari Basic Programming cartridge purely because of the description and picture on the box. I went to the store and asked to see the cartridge many times. Being able to actually program a computer, I remember thinking there's a whole world inside. I didn't even have an Atari (I had an Intellivision). I never did get an Atari so the cart just always was this box of possibility. I had forgotten all of this and it all came back to me when I saw the cart on eBay. So I decided to exorcise this memory trip and make a controller. There are some neat little programs for it on the web but now I really wish there was more memory available with the cartridge. Oh and it seemed logical to make a Synthcart version at the same time. Hope you like it. KB
  15. Hi, no sorry, the 600xl + 1064 are sold.
  16. Thank you, several pieces are sold. I'll put up a new ad in the near future for the remaining items.
  17. I am also selling my TS1000 collection. Included are two ZXpand SD card/32K memory/joystick interfaces and two ZX8KDLX ALPS switch keyboards. The machine in the center is my "hero" machine that I used, it's the one with the ZXpand plugged in and the ALPs keyboard installed. The ZXpands and Alps keyboards I bought from the makers in the UK. Some of the other machines/parts I bought from Estate sales. Also included is an original box and the SAMS technical document set for testing and repair. I am looking for $200 plus shipping. -Edit- I’ll be keeping the yellow/green book, (memories) but I’ll throw in some new SD cards. Thank you for looking. KB
  18. Hi All, I will be selling my collection, as a bundle. There are some gems in there. Atari Roots for one, Mac/65 with manual and big box Robotron. Also a spare NOS 400 keyboard, and an 800XL mobo. 2 USB power for XL series adapters and an XIO to USB. I am looking for reasonable offers. I live in the Los Angeles Area. Thank you. KB
  19. Thank you for the picture mytek, that's mine. I missed the version number on the PCB, so I stated the part number on the B.A. invoice from Nov/2017. KB
  20. Hi 1088ers, I am gearing up to start building my 1088, I have the initial 1088XEL-GBB, AA board. Purchased November of 2017. Have there been revisions? Thank you. KB
  21. Hi Cool People, I finally have a Tandy Pocket computer, with cassette interface/plotter. I want to save my own programs mainly, there is probably a way to use the cassette interface with an android phone and app to save and load programs. Or maybe one of you fine people has a better solution? Any tips would be appreciated. Ideally I wish there was an SD card interface, but I guess these little things are not that popular. Thanks for your ideas. KB
  22. When I was a kid I would look through some amazing toy catalog, or an ad in a comic book and ask mom to take me to the post office for a money order. Then mail it off and wait what felt like forever, then be disappointed when it arrived. Ordering from Ben a couple weeks ago was all the good parts of that experience and none of the bad. I emailed him and told him about the bad link to his catalogs, so he sent me text files, and holy crap he has some Gems. I asked for a quote including shipping for 4 items and mailed off a money order. Yesterday I got the items; Cyber Sculpt, Degas Elite, STOS and an Abacus book, so great. I will order again.
  23. Hi Again, I am raytracing a lot lately and read that Tom Hudson wrote a desk accessory program that can anti-alias images made with Cyber Cad 3D. I have checked around and can't find it. I'd appreciate if one of you fine folks knew where to get it.
  24. Really interesting, yes your logic makes sense. When it is convenient for you please check the attached wav. As for other graphic I will create it on the weekend. stpingv1.zip
  25. Interesting. I can provide a sample late tonight. Would playing a sample cause a "pause" during playback? The ST has a sound chip, would playing a note (beep of pleasing frequency) be less computationally "expensive?" I ask respectfully, in deference to your knowledge. It also seems you are a wizard, so maybe a sample is no problem.
