Lots of water under the bridge and my Eclaire XL is still a joy. Just had a new case printed, since my first one was pretty warped. Colour choice perhaps to celebrate the AtariAge acquisition? ;) (nope, the guy printing the case made a mistake and so this turned up in gold instead of beige)

    I think it works though?

The XE keyboard is available now (XL keyboard early November), but the XE case needs more work, that I've been prioritizing in favor of keyboards for other models of Atari 8-bit (currently working on 1200XL). I'm having my prototype cases printed by JLCPCB and PCBWay and the finish is fantastic, very smooth, doesn't feel 3D-printed. PCBWay now also does post-printing spray painting which I'm experimenting with right now. I hope this answers your questions.

Do you have a URL for where one can see these wonderful things?

  3. I see folks saying that this is just creating hype. Well to be fair to the project creators, whoever they may be, they don’t seem to have written a word about this anywhere. Any existing hype comes from @Philsan’s posts on social media and the existence of this thread. I for one am indeed hyped about the potential and look forward to more information from the original source as it becomes available.

    • Standard and Pro Controller (Recommended) support.

Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but any chance of rotary support?

This looks absolutely amazing, definitely going to be my first homebrew purchase for the Jag. Great work!

She's mostly circuit-bending synths or corrupting game roms on emulators to use in noise performance - most of her stuff can be done from a Pi or laptop, though she does use my old consoles and sound software for them at times too.

Sorry for keeping offtopic but this sounds so cool! Where can we hear any of her work?

Not quite sure how useful it would be given only one game uses the spinner... if you only have a spinner controller you may as well just put T2K in the machine and be done!

Not entirely true (though T2k has indeed been fixed to my machine for the past couple of years at least), one of the reasons I look forward to ordering a cart is to try the homebrew games with spinner support. A number pad solution would be perfect!

WOW Day One 500+ orders. I think you'll have to open your own production line :)

I believe there are still a bunch of people who waiting for full CD support like me, beacuse i already have all cartridges that interest me.

    Great work SainT!

Yup, same here. The price is completely fair, but a bit much when it isn’t adding anything in my particular case at the moment, I thought. Guess the joke’s going to be on me when I put an order in post-Brexit and land with stupid amounts in customs fees instead. ;)

    The process is:

    i) load rom from from sd card using file selector (new rom is immediately available)

    ii) save to flash

iii) on restart the new rom is loaded

Nb: make sure there is no atari800/rom/atarixl.rom file, this will be loaded in preference to the one in flash

Got it! And if I'd like to have different ROMs on different profiles? One of which being the standard AtariXL?

Edit: Saw Santosp's answer after I wrote this. Excellent, will try as soon as the tv is free. ?

There are four profiles stored on the flash, each contains os rom, basic rom, system and video settings. Profile 1 is loaded on start up. The settings can be changed temporarily, but are only stored using ‘save to flash’. So to change the rom in slot 1 load an os rom with the file selector then ‘save to flash’.

The sd card can also contain a profile. This is stored in pieces in the atari800/rom folder: atarixl.rom, ataribas.rom and settings. These, if present, are loaded on startup with higher priority than the flash. Only the video/ system settings are stored to sd with ‘save to sd’ in the settings file (if it exists).

Generally I keep the rom folder empty on the sd card, then I can use the flash settings. However you could use it how you like - eg an sd card per system config.

Aha, ok, I get it. But if I change one of the profiles to us an OS ROM from the SD card, then save to flash, it defaults back to the standard OS ROM on the next restart. Is there a way for me to put my custom ROM on the flash in parallell to the others?

  10. Your site seems to be down at the moment, @foft. I've noticed that my EclaireXL doesn't remember what ROM I used when it's been switched off. I guess this is because I don't have a "special settings file" that is mentioned in the documentation. Is there an example of such a file somewhere? (I know I could download the complete card image when your site is back up, but I'd prefer just the settings file)
