  1. Can anyone help me procure a CF7+ Slim (or whatever is the latest version - NanoPEB)? Really want to spend some time with the TI-99/4a again (first Computer we ever owned) but don't think I'll be able to swing a PEB... Thanks.
  2. Nice review - thanks for taking the time to put this together.
  3. Is anyone programming (assembly) exclusively on non-native TI hardware (strictly through emulation only)? ...or is that not possible and instead requires a 32k Memory Extension, Assembler/Editor Cartridge/ Mini-Memory Cartridge, Floppy Drive, etc.? Thank you!
  4. This is very exciting -- hopefully the community can share in the fun!
  5. I thought that was the case re: Woz (hence the quotes) but I still like the novelty of it - just waiting for the perfect collectors auction (no yellowing).
  6. First computers I used were Commodore PETs and TRS-80's. First computer that we owned in our home was a TI-99 4/a (quickly followed by a Commodore 64). Fun times.
  7. According to Steve Wozniak in his book (iWoz) he bemoans the Apple III at length (he mentioned that Apple Marketing and Executive Leadership designed the computer 'by committee' and that every Apple employee was forced to have one on their desktop even though they would joke about how bad they were). He mentions how local computer dealers couldn't get the Apple III's to work properly and as a result stopped selling them. Most interestingly (to me) he mentions that the engineers were forced to cripple the Apple III (when it was used in Apple II mode there was actually a chip that prevented the Apple II from accessing the additional memory and 80 column width). So - if someone purchased an Apple III thinking that their old software could take advantage of the extra memory and screen real estate they were sadly disappointed.
  8. Check out this episode of Computer Chronicles from 1988 that talks about the introduction of the IIc Plus (and the IIGS). They have an Apple Product Manager for the Apple IIc Plus (she demos the same game that is used in this topic's review - perhaps this is where you got the idea)? Pretty funny to look back on this now... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RXJPWDuFic
  9. Awesome thread - I've been reading iWoz so that prompted me to go digging in the basement and fish out my Apple IIe Platinum! Only problem is that I have absolutely no software to run at the moment so I'm going to have to fire up ADTPro myself. I almost pulled the trigger on an eBay IIGS Auction the other day ('Limited' edition, Woz signed). Funny thing is that I used to manage a Software, etc. and we had the IIGS on display (it was almost laughable compared to the Amiga's but would still be fun to own)... Someday... Good times.

  15. Don't forget to check out this GREAT Commodore site: Lemon64 I have a bunch of other great Commodore links that I've collected over the years if you are interested Msg Me (vintage Mags, Programming tips, etc.).
  16. I might be wrong, but I thought we are only supposed to use the actual hardware or an emulator. Because of that, I never use my ps2 Activision comp for the HSC. Correct me if I'm wrong. You are correct - just found this in the Rules: Q: Can the games be played on emulators, or only on actual hardware? A: While I would encourage that you play it on actual hardware, emulator play will be allowed. However, please don't cheat by using slow motion, save states, or any other special features of the emulator that aren't available on the actual hardware. Also, please stay away from "questionable" emulation, such as the 10-in-1 joysticks with Atari games, the Atari Flashback, or the Intellivision collection CD's and similar commercial products. -Thanks
  17. Is this game in any of the retro collections (i.e. Atari Anthology) for modern systems (PS2, XBox), etc.? Haven't seen it listed there or on the Flashback consoles.
  18. Great news Here for everyone who updated their Firmware too high. Looks like we'll all be able to Homebrew again in no time.
  19. Ugh - I'm running official Sony firmware 3.02 so I can't check this out.
