Hi! And first....congratulation to have beaten Pac-Man and made a video to show all the ending and second, thanks for the scan of the Nelsonic Frogger manual, i didn't had this one. Here's the link to the Imado Clown WWG (same as Nelsonic Q*Bert): https://ia801008.us.archive.org/0/items/wwg_20190701/ImadoClown(orNelsonicQ-bert).PDF And if you need some other WWG's (Wrist Watch Game), go take a look here: https://archive.org/details/wwg_20190701 The only WWG i have ever saw the ending was the OMNI Space Defender 39-40 years ago when i have reach the maximum score of 1999 (same as Pac-Man). Once reached 1999, the game screen flashes and the "victory" music is "La Cacuratcha" (the same melody for the alarm).

You can also uses 2732 EPROMS but there is two pins that are not in the same place. The best is go here (https://www.petervis.com/electronics/TMS2532/TMS2532_2532_ROM.html) and read all the page, especially at the end to get both datasheets of the 2532 and the 2732. - Sly -

I'm pretty sure he got the idea from the ITT Graetz-Ingelen Ideal Computer Tele Match Cassette 2 circuit diagram which shows how the AY-3-8600 (or 8610) is hooked-up with a CD4011 and then amplified by transistors and outputs to the RGB (with a scart connector). Also, the Magnavox Odyssey 4305 (the AY-3-8500-1 built-in the TV) is connected in this similar way accept that the ball is connected to the Red & Green giving the ball a yellow color. Same process was done in the early Pong-clones arcades like Nutting Associates Wimbledon. Heck...you could colorize an Magnavox Odyssey or any Pong clone console by the same procedure.

This banner was sold in 2016 on Ebay. I have kept the pictures that were posted on Ebay and put them here: https://odysim.blogspot.com/2016/06/odyssey-store-banner.html The more you describing the dealer kit, the more i wanna see it!
-
Oh man! This is good stuffs and no one ever shown or talked about this (except you stupus!). This should be photographed, scanned and cataloged for archival purposes. Does the banner looks like this ?
-
On that, i completely agree. We have the entire year (2021) to prepare and come up with all kind of events for the 50th anniversary of the Odyssey. After all, this is the "Holy Grail" (the Big Bang) of all video game consoles.
-
Thanks! Dealer display kit ? Now i'm curious! Do you have picture(s) of the dealer display kit ?

Hi folks, After some great homebrews for the Magnavox Odyssey that was released this year during the pandemic, i had an idea to make a poster for the Magnavox Odyssey since this console never had an official poster (just ads, flyers, etc), so i've made one which has all 28 "legacy" released games. You can download a copy here: http://odysim.blogspot.com/2020/12/merry-christmas-to-everyone.html as the picture above is very small compared to the real file (39 Megs - 14400 x 9600). Hope some of you will like it! P.S.: I call dibs on making the 50th anniversary poster for the Magnavox Odyssey (1972-2022) as i already started making one.

Hi again folks! I have just posted the second part of the Bandai Terebikko which are the specifications and also talk about it successors. Link here: https://discreteconsoles.blogspot.com/2020/12/bandai-terebikko-part-2.html

Hi folks! I have posted on one of my blogs about the バンダイてれびっこ (Bandai Terebikko) different two models and other information. You can view the post here: https://discreteconsoles.blogspot.com/2020/12/the-bandai-terebikko-video.html But mostly, after years of research i have made a list of all the VHS-tapes "games" that was released for the Terebikko. On Wikipedia, there is only 9 title listed and on Wikipedia Japan, it has 19 titles listed but in reality, there is 33 titles (+ one Sample Video tape) that was released for the Terebikko. The list is uploaded on Archive.org here: https://archive.org/download/bandai-terebikko/Bandai Terebikko List (dec-2020)(by Sly DC).xlsx and is also in attachment with this post (just in case). And you can also view/download some other files here: https://archive.org/details/bandai-terebikko The next post will be about the specifications of the Terebikko so hoping this will help out the emulation community and to preserve digitally the console and games, and also maybe see a homebrew for it ?! Have fun, folks! Bandai Terebikko List (dec-2020)(by Sly DC).xlsx

Hi Ikrananka, No problem for comparing lists but it will take a while before i finished it. I think Amy (Daniel) won't mind if i ask her if i can distribute her old demos and games roms. As for Steve Bégin Wizard's Siege, i also have to ask him as i think he made a deal with CollectorVision. In the meantime since i'm cleaning up the roms, i finally found the web site of Ken Scott (aka Grimlick) when i've found his Black8pk.zip file. If anyone wants to download his hacks, here's the URL: http://grimlick.tripod.com/cvhack.htm There's 3 Colecovision hacks: CV Beast Wars (hack of Gorf - BWCVa.rom), Predacon Target Practice (hack of Carnival - BWCVb.rom) and the one i forgot: Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer (hack of Bump 'n Jump - racercv.rom).
-
Thanks guys! But the only recent list i've found was last updated in 2015. But that's ok since i've found my Colecovision list i started last year, i thought i've lost it so now i just need to update it. There are a few games which i have found no mention of like Wizard's Siege by Steve Bégin, Kill Barney on Mars (not Tokyo) and the AdventureVision emulator by Daniel Bienvenu and a few demos made by Daniel like the CCJVQ demo and the Club 8bit demo, x2 hacks with Transformers pixels, etc... and i have the roms but i won't release them without the author's probation (except the two Transformers hack, they were available on his web site (Ken Scott) more than 10 years ago...can't find his web site now). Anyhow, before i update the list, i have to "clean-up" my Colecovision roms folder which will take a while. In the meantime, here's a rom i can release: It is a hack of Centipede called "Vectopede" which i made back in 2006. Hope some will like it, have fun! Vectopede (2006) (Sly DC).rom

Hi folks, I was wondering how many games exactly were converted/ported from the Sega SG-1000, MSX, Sord M5, etc...to the Colecovision ? I was beginning to do a list of all Colecovision roms (games, prototypes, demos, etc) but i wanted to know exactly how many games were ported/converted to regular game cartridge or for the Super Game Module. Thanks in advanced to any inquiries!

Hi Mikebloke! What's new with you since the Odyssey Multicarts ? I agree with what you wrote but also, Russia made their own "copy" of the AY-3-8500-1 (the К145ИК17) when the Pong era was almost non-existant in the rest of the world and General Instrument was dropping all of their TV Games series with all the competition (Bally, Fairchild, RCA, Atari, etc...) that was going by the end of the 70's - beginning of the 80's. Their first "Pong" console where based on the Magnavox Odyssey and also DIY TV Games by 1979-1980 in magazines. The first released Pong console was the Palestra-02 in 1978 and it was built with discrete components (TTL's) which are exactly the games found in the AY-3-8500-1 and more - see my post on my blog here: https://discreteconsoles.blogspot.com/2015/10/emulation-of-ay-3-8500-1-and-clones-soon.html And after, a few more Russian Pong consoles came out between 1978 and 1993 (the Typhup has a AY-3-8500-7 and all the rest has a K145HK17). But most people in Russia before the fall was majorly poor so not many of Pong consoles came out and not so many were sold also.

What is the fun of revealing all the details, it is more fun to try to find the answer(s). I have read the book 4-5 years ago and i surely don't remember all the pages by memory (especially at my age....LOL!!!!). As for the book in Hong Kong, i will have to dig rrreeeaaalll dddeeeeeeppppp in my archives, somewhere between 10 to 15 years. That....may take a while to find the details but one thing i remember is i found out about this book by searching Google Books.
-
Because i have read many articles and books regarding the Pong era, but mostly, a book called: "Pong et la Modialisation: L'Histoire économique des Consoles" (in English: Pong and Globalization - The Economic History of Consoles), which you can get here: https://www.editionspixnlove.com/tous-nos-ouvrages/656-pong-et-la-mondialisation.html Or on other web sites but the book is ONLY published in French so if you can read French then this book is a great insight of the economics during the Pong era, which companies made/released Pong consoles, etc. But there is some few errors as the Pong era isn't accurately detailed. Here's the picture of the cover: I highly recommend it as this gave be better insight of the whole "Pong" industry mostly in Europe and Asia. Oh and there is one book that has all the "juice" of all Pong productions in Hong Kong and i have tried to get it transfered to another library for consultation but when i have wrote to the library in Hong Kong which has the "only" copy of this alleged book, they told me it's a special edition and cannot be moved from their library, so you need to go to Hong Kong to consult it....well, at 8,000 Km of distance to read i book (and cannot even make scan of the book, they don't allow it! DAMN!!) i just said..."On va laisser faire Tabarnak...." ;( Still have my notes for this book somewhere in case i ever visit Hong Kong And last, i suggest to you to read "The Real Pong FAQ" as it had the biggest list of Pong consoles back then (think the last version is 1.06?). This FAQ hasn't been updated for years.
-
Sorry but this Pong console and other which uses the same plastic shell were manufactured by Conic (Hong Kong) in 1977. All game consoles (Pong-type) manufactured in Hong Kong came out in 1977-1978 and they ended production by 1979/80 as there were "no more profits" to be made out of these type of consoles. So the seller made a typo, it's not made in 1997, but 1977.

Hi Schnurrikowski, Good question. It was written on a web site that this one came out in 1992, but i only report what was written. The best to be exactly sure that a game console came out a specific year is either to open up the game console and check the major components for a year or a stamp-date (example: 4378 - which means 43th week of 1978). But if you want proof, there is one "Leader" that is/was (don't know if it's still active) auctioned on bloshinyjrynok.ru and has five pictures. And this one has a name translated which is called "Leader Play Lider" (cool, first time i see this variation!) and the date is on the back on the console which is "1993" ! The title of the auction is "Телеигра Лидер Play Lider Тенис" which translates to "TV Game Leader Play Lider Tenis". The seller's name is Ludmila and wrote this as a description of the article: "I sell the TV game Leader (Play Lider) Tenis. Production of NPO Energoavtomatika Pyatigorsk experimental plant. Year of release 1993. Working condition. Plus the second console is out of order." If anyone wants to check out the auction page (while it's still displayed on the site), just go here: http://bloshinyjrynok.ru/items/teleigra_lider_play_lider_tenis_14371 And before someone makes a pun, i'll do it right away..."Take me to your LEADER!" Oh and finally found the web page which indicated the "1992" reference: http://www.rw6ase.narod.ru/00/wideo/lider.html
-
The last "Pong" to be released was in Russia called the "Лидер" (aka "Leader") in 1992! (No ?"@% joke!) Here's a picture of the console:

Hi Marcel, Super Chip8 on the VIP ?? I knew it was possible as the specs for the CDP1861 (also CDP1862 & CDP1864) can go up to 128x64 but needs more RAM (1k more i think?). With Eproms now, why bother to upload a game or program into RAM when you just need to add a port to install ROM carts so this will leave the RAM for higher resolution, colors (also this one needs 1k extra RAM), and variables as the rest of the game/program can be stored into ROM (or Flip's multicart). Maybe ROMS (Eproms) can be inserted by the VIP expansion port ? (haven't checked that out yet). Anyway, i am amazed that you have succeeded to adapt the Super Chip-8 to the VIP, even if it's only one game but the first step is done! Can't wait to see the development for the VIP S-Chip, so hats off to you Marcel!
