  1. Oriskanytinterent has described on the nose the working of a TV-Boy and so far, the Akor Super TV-Boy has been dumped

    and also the Systema TV Boy II. Both these ROM dumps are playable in the emulator MAME:

    And if i remember correctly, someone did a dump of a TV-Boy 1 and put the dump on the newsgroups about 20 years ago.

    Apart TV-Boy's released by Akor, SystemA and Nics, there is also other clones of these like the Brazilian Dynacom Megaboy:

    Which has been also dumped. The "Master Boy":

    The "Mega Boy WS-11" and also the "Wonder Boy WS-11":

    IMG_8639.JPG

    The "PTG-2600":

    http://discreteconsoles.blogspot.com/2016/08/the-ptg-2600.html

    The "Nics Mega-Game NS-21":

    And some others i don't remember by memory...but are all Atari 2600 "Plug & Play" game consoles.

  2. As Voxel wrote, you need a CRT TV to be able to play with the light gun games on these old game consoles.

    Both Radio Shack TV Scoreboard and Coleco Telstar Ranger uses a GI AY-3-8500-1 but the Coleco Telstar Marksman

    uses a GI AY-3-8512 but it's uses the same light gun as the GI AY-3-8500-1. The Venture Electronics VS-7 uses a

    Mos Technology (not MOSTEK) MPS-7600-001 but can uses a AY-3-8500-1 light gun but you need to check the

    pins how it's wired.

    Light gun usually takes 4 pins: Voltage source (5-6V DC), ground, trigger and hit pulse. Check the schematic:

    200977340683.gif

    Oh...there is an error on this schematic, the trigger pin (or shot) is #26 and the hit pin is #27 on the AY-3-8500-1.

    And here's the schematic of the AY-3-8512:

    736c3ffc2e2b.jpg

    Hit is pin #7 and Shot is pin #6 or check post:

    And as for the MPS-7600-001, i have it noted somewhere on paper (need to find it).

    Hope this helps.

  3. Hi MCA!

    Just to tell you that i have received the game yesterday and it's great! If some of you didn't received yet,

    it will be because i'm in Canada, province QC and it took 18 days total from PA, US to received it and with

    the pandemic still going on, delivery was pretty fast.

    Been 2 days that i'm scanning many documents and accessories for the Magnavox Odyssey and i still haven't

    finished yet. And thanks for the Shooting Gallery manual MCA, i've already uploaded it to the archive. ;)

  4. Allright! Another new homebrew game! I'll check it out later! :)

    All the scans i'll be making will be in 600DPI but unfortunately, the Apex Blue Card and the instructions for Handball & Volleyball

    have been scanned in 300DPI back in 2012 before i traded it. I'm scanning all material stuff that comes with the Magnavox Odyssey

    first, then it's going to be the Rifle Gun (Shooting Gallery pack) and afterwards the 6 extra games of 1972.

    For Trumpocalypse, i have never gotten the instruction manual with my Game Pack #1 so that's why i thought it was never released.

  5. At $25 each, i'll take 2! :)

    I have almost wrote to Boojakascha back then when he announced his Odyssey multicart, but with time i forgot

    (my mind is not what it used to be...sigh!). This is super to replace/missing/don't have any cartridge from #01 to

    #12 and the only cart i don't have is #12 in my collection (i'm not counting #11 as it's the same as cart #8 with

    a thinner wall).

    But there is already two new game carts released that Boojakascha's multicart doesn't replace: Vibrant Media Labs #13

    and the "ZO" cartridge from ManCaveArcade Zombie Outbreak (i dubbed it "ZO" (for Zombie Outbreak) as MCA didn't gave

    any number on this one (yet)). And also, Vibrant Media Labs has cartridge #14 to 16 already developed.

    VML cart#13 can't be done with the multicart has it's needs a switch to activate the wall full or half-long, you can still solder

    a mini-switch beside the multicart so it can do the same as cart#13. As for the rest of their carts, let's wait and see. ;)

    Maybe you should put x4 (or more) extra micro-switch with unsoldered holes so some people could solder the necessary

    jumpers for future cartridges once release ? Just an idea..

    And i still want two multicart no matter what. :)

  6. Glad to help out MCA!

    I have just made some corrections and also uploaded new files to the archive:

    Correction:

    * Magnavox Odyssey (US-1972).pdf is now renamed: Magnavox Odyssey (IB-2622)(US-1972).pdf

    * Magnavox Odyssey.pdf is now renamed: Magnavox Odyssey (IB-2662-2)(US-1973).pdf

    * ITT Odyssey (Germany-1973).pdf is now renamed ITT Odyssey Spiel (Gernamy-1973).pdf

    Updated/Uploaded:

    * Overkal (Spain-1974).pdf  - has been updated with better scans

    * ITT Odyssey Spielkonsole (Germany-1973).pdf

    * Apex Blue Card.zip (Contains scans of Blue Card and instructions in 300dpi)

    * Apex-Odyssey-Manuals (US-197x).pdf  (Only Volleyball & Handball instructions)

  7. Now i don't have any "New" homebrews to list ...BUT! How about downloading some files

    like the manual of the Videojuel ?

    I have uploaded a few hours ago some Magnavox Odyssey and clones stuff on Archive.org:

    * HiRez Overlays.zip (Has all 11 Pack-in oerlays in Hi-Rez + Soccer)

    Odyssey instruction manual & clones:
    ------------------------------------
    * ITT Odyssey (Germany-1973).pdf
    * LEH Videojuel (Argentina-1975).pdf
    * Magnavox Odisea (Mexico-1972).pdf
    * Magnavox Odyssey (Export-1974).pdf
    * Magnavox Odyssey (France-1974).pdf
    * Magnavox Odyssey (US-1972).pdf
    * Overkal (Spain-1973).pdf
    * Panoramic Telematch J5 (Argentina-1975).pdf
    * Planil Odyssey (Brasil-1975).pdf

    I was so lucky to download a copy of the Videojuel before the link
    went to oblivion!

    Service Manual (i scanned it at 600dpi)
    * Magnavox Odyssey 1TL200 BLAK & BK12 Service Manual.pdf

    (Also those extra games i scanned at 600 dpi)
    * Magnavox_Odyssey-Baseball.pdf
    * Magnavox_Odyssey-Invasion.pdf
    (more to come in the future)

    And here's a back-up of three Odyssey "free" homebrews:
    -------------------------------------------------------
    * Peacekeeper Command-O.zip
    * Red vs. Blue.zip
    * Space War.zip

    You can get any of these files individually here:

  8. Just saw the updated list in the first post and there's an entry that doesn't belong:

    Unreleased games:

    Stomach's Revenge by Atariland2600 (Announced 2011)

    That's is not a game title but a "post" title. If you read Chris post, you'll

    see that he first talks about (real) stomach cramps and in the fourth

    and fifth line, then he talks about Yar's Revenge.

    1. Does the Rifle work on a flat screen TV (LCD, LED, computer monitor, etc.)

        YES! The Odyssey Rifle circuit works different then the other game console light guns that did require a CRT to work such as the famous Nintendo Zapper.

    I completely agree that the Rifle Gun for the Magnavox Odyssey works on any TV (CRT, LCD, Plasma, 4K, Monitor, etc..) and it will work on future TV's

    as well since the Rifle Gun acts on "light", it even works on a light bulb so ANY TV (and related) will always work.

    If you don't believe this then do a simple test: once the rifle gun plugged into an Odyssey and either card 9 or 10, shoot at light near the TV, if the circuit

    has detected the light when the trigger is pulled, the spot (card 9) or the ball (card 10) will disappear on screen.

  11. Hi D.C.,

    No problem for the info. OK for Peacekeeper/Command-O, only five "hardware" release were sold. You can check here:

    https://www.homebrewlegends.com/peacekeeper-command-o/

    Youtube: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwii7pXY347pAhVKa80KHdfCDPMQtwIwA3oECAkQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D1ZOWTBpPJVo&usg=AOvVaw3ivOErAIZWNvgGE9SCShv2

    And here's the link (from Youtube) for the files since now it is a free edition:

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cjD2ruNWh3-XnxFXwd5esAR7zW0jYVcv

    So if nobody has that game, now it is your chance before the link disappears one day.

    Now for "Space War Demake", it was posted here on AtariAge:

    You can download the manual in the upper link and get the overlay. :)

    BTW, both Space War Demake & Peacekeeper/Command-O are "free" to use.

    Indeed, Soccer has been released by Vibrant Media Labs in Game Pack #2

    so it would be a bit non-sense to release it individually.

    OK now more info on the unreleased games:

    * Hadeus War (sorry to repeat) was renamed as"War of Semmis" by the author as i was discussing

    with him to do an OdySim version. Never heard of him since 2016. :(

    * Final Fantasy: Tales of Odyssey info is here:

    * The Semi-Impenetrable Fortress of Doom (by Atari2600land):

    * Hide and Seek/Dragonhunt:

    * Trumpocalypse (by Vibrant Media Labs): is written as a bonus game here

    in this tread:

    I got the Game Pack #1 and i don't have any "Trumpocalypse" instructions with

    my Game Pack. Does anyone has it or it was forgot to be included ? I'll ask

    Zack about this soon (if he doesn't reply here first...lol).

  13. I agree with Atari2008, the game looks awesome! Can't wait to shoot some zombies

    and wild (printed) animals! ;)

    Just curious, can you tell what are the other game names (#3 to #6) ? Or are the

    names also are a WIP ?

    And BTW, cartridge #13 already exists as Vibrant Labs release it last year with the OdysseyNow

    Game Pack #1. They also have #14 & #15 made but those are still unreleased and cartridge #16

    is still a mystery so since there's no info for this cart, you should use it for your prototype or ask

    Zack as he knows more about those.

    Oh and cartridge #11 was released with "Odball" by Robert A. Vinciguerra.

    'Nuff Said true gamers! ?

  14. Hi MCA,

    Thanks for the update and i've just posted on the forum. I saw your box, great idea to put the name

    and the rifle gun drawing in green, this will make a heck of a distinction compared the the original

    games.

    At the rate you're going, the game should be ready by the end of this month ?

  15. Well i'll be an monkey's uncle!

    I thought it would have been a couple of weeks before you would have released another homebrew that i've

    just find out that you're already doing your second one and on top of it, it will be an RPG! Now i'm curious to

    see this game finalized.

    One suggestion for combats: You should use two dices for hitting points and health level. Like say a goblin in 20

    point hits so by rolling the dice (say 7 (4+3)), he gets 7 points less until he reaches 0 hits but a second player

    or yourself, can throw the dice so that the goblin hits you back (can also specify 1 or 2 dice).

    Anyway, this is only a suggestion. Continue the great work! :)

  16. Thanks very much for accepting Mikebloke!

    I will add this game to the OdySim very soon. I know you wrote "free licence" but still i prefer to ask permission

    to be on the safe side. Also, i've read the instructions and playing the game is quite easy but needs absolutely

    2 players (as you proved in your video) to play the game.

    In any case, it will be a pleasure to add any new homebrew(s) you'll be doing in the future and can't wait

    what you'll reserve us. Oh almost forgot, do i credit you as Mikebloke or by your real name ? (and i do not

    know your real name if the case be).

    Thanks again and keep in touch! :)

    --- Sly DC ---

  17. Hi Mikebloke,

    Great! Another Odyssey homebrew! And great job on that game, i especially like

    that you kept the original game sprites and the background color. I haven't read

    yet the manual but already converted it in PDF format for later reading as i'm about

    to leave for work (in 5 minutes as typing this message).

    Can i ask you permission to adapt your homebrew to the OdySim ? This would

    make a great addition to the OdySim library.

    If curious about the OdySim, check my blog here: http://odysim.blogspot.com/

    Thanks! :)

    Thanks very much Zack!

    And just saw an typo error i've wrote: "..... did you revered one ?" LOL!!! Revered ??? LOLLLLL!!!

    I meant "reserved"... That's what happens when i type too fast, especially at lunch break on work.

    I was wondering...will you and the team may intend to released the ITL-951 ? Maybe in Game Pack #3 ? (wink!)

  19. Hi Chris,  please reserve a copy for me of Six²! ?

    And Zack, i asked to reserve me a copy of "OdysseyNow Game Pack 2" on Facebook, did you revered one ?

    Thanks in advanced to both of you! Can't wait to add these new brews to my collection and play with them! ?
