  1. Have some answers about the Gamestation No SD card slot in any device No wifi or networking. All games are embedded. Can you add games via usb in a firmware update? Vague answer. "never say never" No paddle controller options and using other controllers is vague. because it has a usb port. Price: $99.99 and will be released in June. Preorders open in May Source:
  2. Its been confirmed that the hand held and the mini player will only have Atari 2600 games and NO sd card.
  3. Here is a clear look at them. The mini arcade is just Atari 2600 games, which makes two fire buttons seem odd.
  4. From what I know, people and companies have been trying to buy Atari and it's IP regularly but the current owner's asking price is comically high. It's attractive but not at the price they are currently asking.
  5. The Aldi's I've been to all have this center isle of random stuff. Garden hose, lawn chairs, toys, computers, portable electronics. I even saw a kayak on sale once. My speculation is MyArcade is selling at three products. A plug and play console that's updated version of the GameStation Wireless console MyArcade put out a number of years ago. (I hope its updated and not the exact same 5 year old hardware with RF controllers) It will include a 100 or so Atari games on it. Between $50 and $90. A miniplayer which is their standard $50 mini arcade player with Atari arcade games. They have a DataEast miniplayer that sells for $100 but its the same hardware as the other $50 miniplayers. Depending on the frills, it could be more than $50 A handheld player that is their standard $25 handheld, just Atari themed.
  6. Sometimes companies patent to make sure no one else does it.
  7. I imagine the suspects will look like this:
  8. They are sold out so, Is the image available to download and make my own usb key? Would a stock Debian distro work the same?
  9. I want classic Sega arcade. Turbo, Zaxxon, Congo Bongo, Space Harrier, Planet of Zoom, and others. Its frustrating that Sega has forgotten everything that came out before Sonic. They probably won't work with Evercade because they have their own mini retro console. Even though it will be limited production and feature nothing from the 80s.
  10. I couldn't find this information, what is the difference between the two Data East carts? I know game line up but they both have Burger Time. Is it the same arcade version of burger Time or is it different in some way? Love to see Radar Rat Race but I have a feeling that since it was originally Rally-X, there might be rights issues.
  11. Its really not worth it. Just get a usb 3.0 cable for an external ssd and boot to windows from that. The internal drive is too much hassle to use with windows. I used this and windows boots fine. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MKCG5ZG/ With this drive https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073SBX6TY/ I know it doesn't look as nice but it works.
  12. The pad peeled right off. Like it was a vinyl sticker. Applying thermal paste was just like applying any other thermal paste to a cpu in a pc. Just put a pea size drop on the cpu and reattached the heat sink and fan.
  13. The thermal paste helped a lot and the VCS 800 runs a lot cooler. The noise is still there. especially in windows mode (which honestly is 90% of the time I use the VCS 800 its in windows). For me, its more of a frequency issue than a volume issue.
  14. I upgraded the ram to 16 gb of 3000 and run it at that speed. I added a 256 gb M.2 SSD internally for Atari os storage and attached an external 500 gb ssd for windows 10. I also replaced the thermal pad with thermal paste. I currently use a Logitech mk470 wireless keyboard and mouse bundle. The noise really bothers me still and I’m thinking over my options to replace it.
