    Absolutly. I´m doing the development and tests on Z26, but the final release and the entries will be tested on a real VCS. I think that it´s realy important because the playbility is one of the strong points of this game. Have fun and good luck. Gus

    There are some very good entries !!! Just one advice, please test the tracks in order to mantaing the fun that this game provides. I means not so narrow (strech) tracks. I think that we have material for the different game variations... So choose the gamevar that you like, for your new tracks.     Dones, Thanks you very much for your comments and suggestions !!! It´s really not a small modification to change the start line position/orientation. You know that this affects the laps counter too (a point that has some problems in the original ROM) And of course, there is no much time left for PC5. Maybe in a future release ... I´m very glad that you enjoy this game that is my main objective. I agree with you, the game on the emulators is far from the fun of the driving controls (it´s a must to play it on the real VCS) I´m personally don´t own a supercharger so I will not enjoy it until the final release is ready in cartridge format. May be I can buy some Supercharger in the future but in my country you can´t found any of these Thanks and good luck !!! Gus
  6. Lee, I glad that you like the editor. I'm sure I will work on more projects for the Atari VCS and maybe for the computers too. I found here at Atari Age a nice place to share my passion for classic video games. I`m a new member just since 21 january 04, but I want to contribute as much as I can (free time is the most important factor) So Thanks for your comments, And be tunned maybe in a future I do the Oulaw editor Gus
  7. Eduardo, que alegria que te guste el Editor que hice para el Indy 500 XE. Como verás soy un miembro nuevo en esta comunidad (Enero 04), pero tengo muchos proyectos y creo que he encontrado el lugar ideal para canalizarlos. Me dedico a la programación en el mundo profesional y gracias a Atari Age encontré un lugar donde compartir mi hobby con tantas personas con intereses comunes. Seguro estaré trabajando en nuevas versiones de este y otros editores, las ideas que sugeris son muy buenas. Este me parecio un buen título para comenzar por el hecho (muy divertido para mi) que podés jugarlo con los controles driving. Pero tengo muchos más en mente y vamos a conversarlo antes de que inicie el próximo. Muchas gracias por tus comentarios. Gus

    sku_u: I'm glad that you associate it, because I do use the XE for Enhanced just in the same way Atari does with the Atari 65XE and 130XE two of my most loved computers. So I chosse it for my hackto put it XE, there are a Minigolf Plus, a combat Redux (more interesting name, good job here too Sach) and now an Indy 500 XE. So I do it like a tribute, I apologize about the confussion. I tell this to Albert but I belive that my poor english help in the confussion Gus P.D. I sure will work on a 800XL Game Project, but this is TOP SECRET right now
  9. Some days ago I posted an explanation of the lap counter in the Indy 500. The logic in the original game isn´t working very well, you know the cheat for quick laps: http://www.atariage.com/software_hints.htm...ftwareHintID=69 I sure that this "bug" in the game program can be the problem that Prof Procyon has. So I will make a better document about the way that really works. It´s a little more complex, because not works the same way on all laps, this permit the mentioned cheat. Maybe I will need to change that on the final program. Anyway feel free to design your tracks, I promese you that the laps will be counted in the right way. Have Fun... Gus

  11. Hi, there is the explanation about laps counter. There are 2 sensors. The first is what you see like the start line. The second isn´t visible to the players, but exist for the game. So you must pass over the two sensors in order to complete a lap. In the image you can see both sensors in diferent colors. So in your tracks you must ensure that the car can pass over the two sensors. I hope that this help in your desings Have fun and Good luck with your entries. Gus

  16. Quiero informarles (por si no la han visto ya) que comenzó el concurso de pistas para el Indy 500 XE. Está disponible un nuevo editor con más posibilidades de edición y que permite ahora probar las pistas ya que genera imagenes ROM.   18. The Editor know how to adjust the start line height, you just need to open your old tracks and make a new hacked rom image. This will adjust the start line height. Gus
  19. You need to save your work in the ".ind" format this let us include the tracks in the game. But if your prefer to send both files i´ts fine too. Gus BTW ind format contains all the imformation about your tracks.

Les cuento que estoy trabajando en una nueva versión del clasico INDY 500 se llamará INDY 500XE y tendrá muchos más niveles, más pistas, etc. Ya está disponible un Editor de Pistas para windows, es muy probable que proximamente AtariAge arme un concurso de pistas.
