  1. It's been twenty years since Phil Hartman was killed by his wife. When he died, SNL died with him.

Wouldn't say SNL died, quite a few laughs since then. Same for the Simpsons. But Hartman is very missed all the same.

He was the best. One of my all time favorites.

Aw man... downer. I loved him in News Radio.

  2. If only I had a '75-'79 B-Body roller to drop my 440 CI V8 in... (Engine still needs to be built.)

@Zylon: C-Body Drydock? I might have to look.

@JD_1138: I know a guy who has a Barracuda, but just lets it sit there. (Idiot.)

I pass with class and run a pair of old C's still.

      I stand by the 361/383/400 series. :)

  3. I'm currently binge watching the Kirby anime. Oh, and Krull is a criminally underrated movie.

Yes, it was not even afraid to kill Liam Neeson!

I really want to see Krull again - I remember liking it bitd, but it's been sooooo long.

I just wanted to post the song but... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFlcS-hGgME Pay attention Sony! This has been up for a year already! ;)

  4. Regardless if you hated Midori: Shojo Tsubaki or not; at least it had actual artistic merit.

  5. Am I the only person who is in the middle on Steven Universe? Sure, it took what DBZ did, and did it better; yet the voice acting and animation aren't good.

I think both the voice acting and animation are pretty decent for today's standards. The story kind of lost me, tho', after really liking the show for a little bit there. I haven't checked in in awhile.

I don't like the art style, but this interview with the creator makes me a little more interested. https://the1a.org/shows/2018-07-09/the-mind-behind-americas-most-empathetic-cartoon

I got the first season for three bucks. Maybe I should get around to watching it.

  6. I like well-done Isometric and Dimetric perspective work.
  7. Even though I was never a fan of MotU, this update is even more ill-conceived than the original She-Ra:

  8. Looks like someone has discovered the joys of optimizing code! Great work, Smitty, and I look forward to new screenshots.
  9. I don't know if you guys are familiar with I-Mockery, but RoG's wife succumbed to depression and well...http://www.i-mockery.com/re/

I can't read that right now -- for many reasons -- but that looks like a lovely (and very sad) tribute. Thanks for sharing, I'm saving it for later when I can process it properly.

That is whyI have never succumbed to my major depression is that instead of ending my pain, I know that I'll pass my pain on to the ones I love, and who love me. I know that lately there's not been many days when I didn't feel hopeless.

I even e-mailed RoG in condolence. I-Mockery.com was one of the best sites of the last decade, along with Newgrounds, Maddox, Evil Dave, etc.

  10. I used to have this on my Amiga, but could never get the hang of it. If you want me to make some music to make your port stand out, I'd be happy to oblige.
  11. I wonder if anyone here has played Shadow of the Beast 3, and so, what are your thoughts?
  12. Mr. Williams, I wonder if you have considered a series of tutorials on Programming for the Atari Lynx for those who are interested, such as myself?
  13. Mr. DeCrescenzo, I know you can do this. Hell, I bet you could make a fully-functional Lemmings clone on the 7800 given your imposing skills.
  14. I don't know if anyone still reads comics, but Steve Ditko just died.

Sad day for comic book fans. He was one of the best. RIP.

  15. If there is one good thing worth saying about the misbegotten Problem Solvers: John DiMaggio's Snagglepuss impersonation.

  16. Hmm...I think I know some artists on Newgrounds who can draw a better label art.
  17. This is why Fist of the North Star is still my favorite anime:

  18. If there are some things about Swat Kats I still like: The music, voice acting, choreography, and color theory. Too bad that HB couldn't market the show well. (Which led to its cancellation.)

    1. MrMaddog

      MrMaddog

"Billionare" Ted Turner canceled it cause it was "too violent". Another casuality of political correctness...

I seem to recall he was pushing that godawful crap Captain Planet on people and was getting rid of shows people liked...

To this day I hate anyone who thinks that cartoons should be "educational", and of course the senators who came up with e/i and killed Saturday morning cartoons...(I'm not talking about School house Rock and Sesame Street BTW)...

  19. I was wondering if you took any screenshots for your game?
  20. Apple used to be synonymous with "quality product that justified the high price tag." However, their decline started around 2006-2007. (I used to like their computers despite using Windows and, before that, Amiga Workbench.)

^ And thanks to that post I now know what a Chocodile is lol I had never heard of them before. Personally I'd like iPhones and iPads a lot more if Apple just ditched iOS and let them run OS X with a touch interface. iOS always seemed too limited in functionality compared to OS X to be practical for me.

The iMAC was not a high quality product, iPod was cheap looking....

  21. Sega Lord X on the Sega Saturn Hardware:

  22. While Strahl/Triad Stone and Creature Shock do count as LaserDisc games, they didn't originate in the arcade. (The first was released for Pioneer's LaserActive, and the latter for the 3DO.)
  23. Talking about rare, peculiar, obscure, fascinating, and expensive. (Though there is much doubt on the latter existing in some form.) I wonder if anyone here has ever encountered these back in the day? (Let alone had one hooked up to their PC.)
  24. If there is one thing I do like about Crystal Dynamics and Eidos: they had good taste in voice actors. Seriously, you couldn't go wrong with the late Tony Jay from ReBoot and the last three TMNT seasons.
