  1. JVC and Core Design's Jaguar XJ220:

There's just something about that low-production car that stands the test of time.

      GoldLeader

The car itself is Badass!  (not like we could afford one)...And they drew it nicely,  I mean nice graphics...However the engine sound is rather underwhelming, huh?  Not bassy or grumbly at all...Kind of tinny,  truth be told.

  2. Gekirindan, Japanese for Imperial Wrath Bullet.

I might as well direct people's attention towards these:

  3. Unpopular and Controversal opinions, Vol 17:

-As bad as an artist and writer Rob Liefeld is, he's actually improved in the former during the past ten years.

-Mark Waid needs to step back and re-evaluate his life.

-If there is one trope in storytelling that is both overused and underutilized at the same time, mind control would be it.

-The Babylon Bee is funny, but not Best Page in the Universe funny. (Or for that matter, Rageaholic or Kirk Wilcox funny.)

-I think Earthworm Jim 3D gets way too much shit. (Yes, MDK, Blasto, and Rachett & Clank were better, but EWJ3D wasn't terrible.)

-I'm glad that FromSoft made Armored Core VI, but it would be nice if they remastered both of the Lost Kingdoms titles.

-Ninja Theory's sole Devil May Cry game is better than DMC2.

-Alan Moore went downhill during the last third of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

-Speaking of Liefeld, his two best characters were Badrock and Troll. (That is outside Deadpool and Cable.)

-I bet that Andrew Dickman (Ivan the Unbearable, Rockman Neo, and Gordon the Moronfish) and Arin "Egoraptor" Hanson (Metal Gear Awesome and Mr. Literal) would have a field day developing 7800, Lynx, and Jaguar homebrews. (Ditto for a lot of other Newgrounds legends.)

  4. One man makes a synthesizer out of breadboards and a CEM3340:

Fun fact: Bally Sente used the CEM3394 in their arcade boards. (Ditto for Sequential Circuits.)

  5. For those who remember Celebrity Deathmatch:

The game for PS2, X-Box, and PS1 from what I remember is pretty bad.

  6. For fans of Orson Welles and The Critic.

Jon Lovitz and Maurice La Marche should get back together.

By the way, @Charlie Cat, The Critic did get a brief comeback around 2000-2001 on Newgrounds, but didn't last.

  7. Twisted Metal 4's Unity remake has gotten some progress:

  8. For those who remember The Neverhood:

    and Skullmonkeys:

Memo to Electronic Farts: Maybe you should just sell the rights back to Doug TenNapel if you aren't going to use them?

The Neverhood is one I always regret not buying back in the day, it looked fun.

  9. Something for Atari Falcon fans:

  10. Boulder Punch does Night Trap.

  11. For those who played Vectorman:

Keep in mind that these aren't the artist's best, so bear with me.

  12. For those who wanted to make their own animatronics:

I bet that @awbacon would like this.

      lolol that thumbnail is terrifying

  13. I finally rediscovered the samples section of Furnace Tracker, but I now have to deal with getting synth samples to playback properly. If anyone here knows how to get them playing the right notes, I will greatly appreciate that. (This is for the Neo Geo's ADPCM channels and Amiga chip.)

  14. A little something for Spongebob fans:

Now I have to find some Clancy Brown clips...

  15. Mash-up time:

  17. Might as well share a couple of insult reels:

  18. Unpopular and Controversial opinions, Vol. 16.

-Bluey is okay; not terrible, but not a televised masterpiece.

-Kodocha > Gravity Falls and Star vs. The Forces of Evil.

-The Chrysler Cordoba and the rest of the Fourth-Generation B-Body cars looked nice.

-Frank Zappa's music has aged like fine wine.

-AntonBlast just may be the best retro throwback in development.

-Extreme-G and its sequels deserve Hi-Def remasters.

-The best games Rare made after the MS buyout were Grabbed By The Ghoulies, Viva Piñata, and Rare Replay.

-Hitman: Blood Money = What Metal Gear Solid 4 should have been.

-I wish retro-scripted cartoons would make a proper comeback. That, and cartoons with dynamic, expressive, and solidly-drawn animation. (Enough of the Jay Ward and Osamu Tezuka imitators already!)

-Sony needs to stop with the Super-cinematic crap and go back to gameplay and fun.

    1. Hydro Thunder

      Hydro Thunder

Love GBTG, so agree there.  Disagree on Kodocha, which I have not seen, but simply on the basis that Gravity Falls is too much fun. :)
No opinion on the rest, carry on.

  22. Great news, Wayforward has brought a Shantae game back from cancellation:

Oh, and Sunsoft gave them permission to bring the original Clock Tower stateside:

      SlidellMan

I have to hand it to Modern Vintage Gamer: he made an excellent engine.

  23. Battle Wheels:

If there is one thing I noticed, the number of third-party developers for the Lynx can be counted on two hands. Let's see if anyone can name them all.

    1. jeremiahjt

      jeremiahjt

      Hand Made Software? and Telegames?

    2. SlidellMan

      SlidellMan

Plus Epyx, Shadowsoft, Krisalis Software, Beyond Games, and NuFX. That makes a total of seven third-party developers.

    3. jeremiahjt

      jeremiahjt

How could I forget Epyx? And Beyond Games since you had Battlewheels right there? I was thinking of Shadowsoft, but could not remember their name.

  24. I decided to take another stab at making Atari Lynx music with Furnace Tracker. If anyone needs some starter instruments or have any suggestions on how to make better ones; let me know.

    1. SlidellMan

      SlidellMan

      Update: Here are the instruments:

I bet that Karri and Fragmare would like these...

  25. Donkey Kong Country: Return to Krocodile Isle:

Featuring the same cast as the '97 Mainframe DKC cartoon, which is a plus in my book. Too bad Nintendo never got Ben Campbell back for Smash Ultimate...

    1. dudeguy

      dudeguy

I remember that show. I was super excited as a kid to see that, even though the character models seemed slightly "off"

    2. SlidellMan

      SlidellMan

Yeah, I noticed that the models were different when I first saw that show 25 years ago. By the way, C.O.P.S. and Crooks' Len Carlson was also a cast member on DKC. (Carlson died in '06, by the way.)
