Ready 2 Rumble was an underrated game.
-
As a fan of Bomberman Hero, you did the right thing by including it. Yeah, it flopped to the point where it killed Hudson's US branch, but it is still one of the N64's best games. Hell, I bought it on Wii VC and recommend playing it with the GameCube controller. (Ditto for other N64 Virtual Console titles.) Kirby 64 is also another fine choice. Hal Labs was wise to not go full 3D yet; just keep the gameplay 2D for the time being. Beetle Adventure Racing was one of the best games from Electronic Arts, and it's a shame that EA is a hollow shell of its former self. Kudos for bringing up Space Station Silicon Valley and Rush 2. Both were very underrated, and the former basically paved the way for all three of the PS2 Grand Theft Auto games. Snowboard Kids also has Jack Frost from Megami Tensei as an unlockable. I agree with you on Castlevania 64: it's a flawed game, but it one that I like. (Fun fact: it was the first Castlevania game I played.) It's one of those games that I'd like to do something in the vein of. Sin & Punishment was a great game, but I'll be the first to admit that its story reads like a shitty ripoff of Sliders, and not the good episodes. Chameleon Twist deserves a Hi-Def remaster, and with Sunsoft back on track, it'll happen. Some Nintendo 64 games I recommend:
-All of the Turok games. (Nightdive Studios is currently remastering Turok 3.)
-Iggy's Reckin' Balls
-Both of the Extreme-G games. (Acclaim and Probe at their finest.)
-Shadow Man (Based off of the Valiant Comic.)
-Shadowgate 64
-Automobili Lamborghini (AKA that one game from Titus that actually was good.)
-Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth
-Quest 64 (Despite the undeserved negative reputation.)
-Both of the Vigilante 8 games.
-Mega Man 64
-Resident Evil 2 (Due to the extras Angel Studios/Rockstar San Diego added.)
-Lex Legion UX
There are also a bunch of ROMhacks and homebrews also worth your time.

@Jag_Mag Given your programming skills, maybe you could make a series of video tutorials in regards to programming the Jaguar? I can help with scripting if needed.

There are some good things about the Super NES version of Operation Thunderbolt, but as I said before, Taito would have been better off outsourcing this to a demoscene group.
One would be the music, especially the menu theme. The other is the fact that it supports the Super Scope and Mouse, and they actually work well together. The arcade original is still the definitive way to play.

Hey, congratulations on getting the game finished and released.

I don't want to offend the author who is here, but I am also known to be blunt and forward on such things too. I agree with Rich whoever Rich is since I don't follow this that closely. I've seen the videos of that game at play, enough of them that I would agree with the basic logic argument. Personally I wouldn't even be comfortable beyond like 10% of that, which would put it in the realm of a GB/GBC/GBA or SNES/Genesis era cart pushed out from the use of bulk ordered pieces via Aliexpress. I can see where some efforts though grossly overpriced like ngdev did that would easily qualify for that price (not for the $500-600 they wanted or so though.) I get the pcbs, chips, boards, plastics, vinyls, card stock all have expenses but if you want to charge a high dollar price ($250+, hell even $100+) you really need to bring something jaw dropping miraculous to the table as the competition is thick. I couldn't even justify the cost on NeoTris and Tetris is pretty timeless and fairly endless too.
Superbly said, Tanooki. The only way I'm charging a triple digit price for any of my games is on the sheer amount of content packed in. That, and the game has to be good enough to warrant said price and a 10/10 score.

Maybe I can help with the RMT part?

I thought I would share this:
With the 20th Anniversary of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door around the corner, I have to say that the original still holds up to this very day. Here's hoping that Nintendo and Intelligent Systems add some new content such as a New Game +, additional difficulty settings, and some of what was cut due to time constraints. Fun fact: Admiral Bobbery was originally going to be an Army General. (Source: The Cutting Room Floor.)

I've always been a sucker for '77-'86 vector graphics as seen in Asteroids, Tempest, and Major Havoc. Luckily, there have been several doujin game authors who have used that lost and underrated aesthetic. (One example would be Kenta Cho.)

Nice! By the way, seeing that Alister Brimble is working on Daemon Claw, I wonder if he's going to be using those samples he used for The Lawnmower Man? (SNES version, I might add.)

One thing that sealed the deal on Arkanoid: Doh it Again: The level editor. I had a lot of fun making levels and playing them with that. Nintendo of America made the right call by bringing it stateside. @WavyGravy I wholeheartedly agree with you on Energy Breaker and Chaos Seed.

A little short from Kaze Emanuar:

I admit to playing the VS. Com mode in Bust-A-Move and liking it:
Taito really went out of their way to make this one of the best home versions of this game. Oh, and I wrote this enemy name comparison years ago:
JP: Zen-Chan, Mighta, Monsta, Pul Pul, Banebou, Invader, Hidegons, Drunk, Rascal, Skel Monsta
US Romstar: Benzo, Boris, Blubba, Boa Boa, Bonnie-Bo, Incendo, Bonner, Rubblen, Baron von Blubba
US NES/SNES BAM: Bubble Buster, Stoner, Beluga, Hullaballoon, Coiley, Super Socket, Incendo, Willy Whistle, Rubblen, Baron von Blubba.

Looks like the Saturn version of Silhouette Mirage is getting an English tranlsation:
Romhacking.net - Translations - Silhouette Mirage
Granted, they're using the Working Designs script, but with a nicer font.
As an added bonus:
Grandia English Patch | SegaXtreme

I'm surprised that Sega never made a proper Mega Drive/Genesis version of Outrun Europa. Eventually Probe Software did get better at game design in the mid-to-late '90s with the Extreme-G games.

I wonder if that rotary joystick works with Heavy Barrel, Midnight Resistance, or that one Seta brawler whose name evades me?

What an interesting link you provided Slidel. I don't think I ever heard Rhamnys and Tim Jonsson before. Sounds like they are both talent people in their fields. I'll certainly be keeping them in mind Slidel. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Be sure to tell Ozzy Yzzo, Coleco Gamer, and Jag_Mag about them, too. (I emailed them last night. Ditto for Division of Aqua Ippan fame.)

I thought I would include a proper gameplay video:

Cyborg Force is looking to be an A+ game. By the way, while I was looking on PixelJoint, I found this:
Superficial Xerox NEO-GEO @ PixelJoint.com
That was made for Newgrounds' Neo Geo Jam: https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/764314
If anyone is need of a pixel artist for their homebrews, talk to him, Pixel Artist - Rhamnys (pixeljoint.com), and Pixel Artist - TimJonsson (pixeljoint.com). By the way, Jonsson worked on Knight's Chance.

It's nice to see some of SNK's other fighting game series get something new. Now if only they brought their sports series back and gave Electronic Arts a much-deserved run for their money...

Wow, he finally got it to where he can run an MVS. I just e-mailed my friends his video.
