  1. When I heard that Sony was re-releasing Playstation exclusives, I was hoping that it was going to be A) the entire Psygnosis back catalog, B) the Windows 95 ports of Twisted Metal 1&2, and C) the Windows 95 ports of the Jet Moto trilogy. Alas, it turned out to be God of War PS4.

By Psygnosis' back catalog, I'm talking about their DOS, Amiga, Mac, and Windows releases from the late '80s to Drakan.

@GoldLeader Yes, it exists, but it was Japanese exclusive and had a low print run. Here's a few videos:

Granted, it was basically a straight port with few enhancements. Such as LAN two-player and 640x480 resolution.

Afraid I can't condone playing a fine game like Twisted Metal 1-4 on a computer 14 inches from your face when you've all got perfectly good PlayStations in the closet.  ?

BTW Mostly just being a smartass here, but you knew that.  I like consoles...Other than maybe a MAME Multicade or something,  I don't want to play anything on a computer,...but that's me.   Thanks for the info though,  it's interesting to see a different version.

  2. Currently listening to the Inspector Gadget theme:

I started whistling this and my wife said "Is that Inspector Gadget?".  To which I replied yes. would you like me to sing Mr. Ed next?  Her reply of course was a resounding NO! :lolblue:

There was a band in Colorado Springs called Animosity,  that slipped the riff from Inspector Gadget into one of their thrash songs...Really cool,...Have that on cassette.  Sorry without digging it up I don't remember the song title...Hold up!... listen... 13:26

  4. I'm still surprised that Taco Tico still exits despite all the locations close to me closing down. I wonder if there are any other former iconic restaurant chains still open on technicality?

I know I've read about several chains that are down to one or two remaining locations, but I can't think of any names right off hand (a lot of them are chains that were "iconic" in other parts of the country and never made it to my neck of the woods). I did eat a ton of Taco Tico in high school though. Tico > Bell.

Oh,...now that I clicked on it, I see the episode there, hahaa...Somehow missed that at first.

  6. I'm split on the new BattleToads. On one hand, it kept the varied gameplay of the hard-as-shit original. On the other, The Dark Queen's new design is awful, the cutscenes look rather cheap when compared to the in-game animation, and the colors chosen come off as gaudy.Battletoads--Dark-Queen-Battletoads-2019

On a really good night I might process 3 movies almost back to back. At this point opening credits feel predictable, and I liked it when a movie jumped right in or saved "artistry" for the end titles...

  10. For all five of you who still remember All Your Base:

By the way, the PCE/TG-16 version has a completely different storyline from the Genesis/MD version.

  11. The Bravoman cartoon is hilarious!

I'd say that Shifty Look took what Jay Ward and Bill Scott did in the '50s, and improved on it considerably.

I also recommend Shriek if You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th and Mafia. Parodies/Screwball comedies are sorely needed this decade, but not from Seltzer and Friedburg. Hell, the Zucker brothers helped ruin the series after Harvey Weinstein fired Keenan Ivory Wayans.

    3. GoldLeader

I loved the one ( 4 maybe? whichever one it was) that parodied War of the Worlds and Signs....Especially that beginning part where it's like Signs and they're running through the crop circles saying What does it all mean??  And the camera pans out to an overhead view and it's an Arrow that points to their farmhouse and says ATTACK HERE!  ...Heha...That kills me!

  13. Earlier today, a parakeet flew onto my shoulder, and I don't know who it belongs to. Pro tip for anyone who keeps birds: Always have a sign that says, "Birds fly, keep the doors and windows closed."

    1. joeatari1

  14. With MTV's 40th this year, I thought I would post this:

Man, I still remember how they had some of the best animated shows of the late '90s while being the epicenter of the Dark Age of American Music. (1996-2002)

24/7 music videos.  And then Beavis and Butthead was great in the early 90's - but once it turned into the 24/7 Real World reality show in the late 90's on weekends (Thanks, MTV, for ruining everything with inventing reality shows), it was lost.

HmMmmm...I used to have some game.  A repro cart for NES...OK...After looking it up.   I guess I had Tower of RADIA...For some reason I was thinking it was Radiata.   Don't mind me.  I'm just gonna go over here and yell at my memory to work better for a while.

It’s sufficiently ridiculous to take time to listen

But, wait... its about  cats  ,.. so

      who cares?!!

  17. I don't think Beast Wars and Beast Machines deserve the hate they get. Yes, Beast Wars' CGI has dated substantially, and Beast Machines had story problems and ideas that shouldn't have worked. Yet, I still like both very much. Oh, I'm also into War Planets: Shadow Raiders. (Best Canadian CGI cartoon ever.)

  18. If there is one thing I can say about the recently departed Will Vinton: He was the definitive claymation director of the '80s.

    1. jaybird3rd

      jaybird3rd

I'm not familiar with most of his output, but I loved his claymation work in "Return to Oz." It's so much more interesting to look at than CGI will ever be.

    2. Stephen

      Stephen

If you like claymation, look up Bruce Bickford, especially in relation to Frank Zappa. Also, RIP Will Vinton - did not know about him, but learning now.

What about Nick Park and the Aardman crew? I love Wallace & Gromit, and Chicken Run is a classic!

  20. Too bad that Twisted Metal: Harbor City was cancelled. Judging from what was on TMHO Extra Twisted Edition, it fixed the questionable lighting issue from TMB.

    1. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

Twisted Metal Games were my Favorite thing in the Universe until the unplayable PS3 version that has NO D-Pad controls...

    2. SlidellMan

      SlidellMan

Actually, you controlled with the left analog stick. Plus, it also has the classic control scheme.

    3. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

Wait! What do U mean it Has the classic control scheme, which would mean you can control it with the D-Pad like in Every other TM game?? I tried it for 3 minutes once and it was horrible because they got rid of the D-pad which now controls the special moves...Is there really a way to play it now>???? HOW?? (Sorry this is The game that killed modern games for me...I had such High hopes...

  21. Am I the only person who is in the middle on Steven Universe? Sure, it took what DBZ did, and did it better; yet the voice acting and animation aren't good.

    1. dj_convoy

      dj_convoy

I think both the voice acting and animation are pretty decent for today's standards. The story kind of lost me, tho', after really liking the show for a little bit there. I haven't checked in in awhile.

  25. Am I the only person here who thought that Drawn Together had potential, but wasted it on imitation Family Guy humor?

    1. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

Sounds about right...Except the potential was wasted by wishing it was a tenth as funny as Family Guy, plus way too much repetition and gross jokes...and a little too much like an actual reality show for my personal tastes.

    2. Nathan Strum

      Nathan Strum

I already thought Family Guy was imitation humor.

    3. TheTIGuy

      TheTIGuy

      Yes, yes it is.

Its imitation Futurama humor, that is itself imitation The Simpsons humor.
