    Enjoy!

      _The Doctor__

You can be a rainbow or unicorn, you can be anything you want to be, but the care bear stare is still creepy!!!

  3. More Bomberman videos:

  4. Somebody must have been a fan of N64 Romhacking and Bomberman 64...

The Bomberman 64: Second Attack OST:

I'm still surprised that no one has even attempted to remake BM64 and Second Attack in Unreal Engine or Unity. Guess Konami's legal shadow is still looming over Hudson's back catalog.

  5. Great news in the realm of the 3DO: Kenji Eno's Oyaji Hunter Mahjong is now in English!

For those who missed the Doctor Hauzer translation:

    https://www.romhacking.net/translations/5654/

Snowy Aria would have a field day with the 3DO version of Eye of the Typhoon.

  6. I'm back from the Colombia St. Block Party, and while I was there; the record store there had a Dolphin Blue arcade cabinet.

    1. SlidellMan

      SlidellMan

I wanted to also say that said cabinet was a Metal Slug 6 cabinet, but was converted.

  7. Unpopular and Controversial Opinions, Volume 12:

-I'm still surprised that Microsoft would upload the source codes to MS-DOS 1 & 2.

-If companies were serious about Girl games, Koei should have brought Angelique Duet DS stateside.

-Epic Games should make a proper sequel to Unreal 2.

-I think Naz Edwards got a bad rap for DiC's Sailor Moon dub. (Ditto for Jill Frappier.)

-Jack Black's take on Bowser was surprisingly good, almost like an in-between Eric Newsome (Super Mario Sunshine) and Harvey Atkin (The SMB Super Show); Seth Rogen's take on Donkey Kong was boring and unfitting. (I liked his voice actor from the Mainframe DKC cartoon better.)

-Valkyrie Elysium had more of a reason to exist than Forspoken.

-Electronic Arts needs to take a break from sports titles, micro-transactions, and bad Battlefield sequels.

    -Sega's best year was 1992.

-Oculus Rift, Playstation VR, and the 3DS owe their existences to the Virtual Boy.

-Am I the only person who thinks that a Dynasty Warriors game set to either Sailor Moon, Angel Sanctuary, or Dragon Half would be awesome? (Fun fact: Kotono Mitsuishi voiced Usagi/Sailor Moon, Mink, and Rosalia de Catargena.)

  8. Phantis for the 128k ZX Spectrum:

This Spanish ZX Spectrum game was also available for the C64 and MSX.

Whoever made Waluigi in Fallout had a lot of balls doing that.

Somebody should send this to Charles Martinet, I bet he would have a field day with that.

  10. Hainbach on the Seiko DS Keyboard:

Martin Galway actually owned one of these, and here is what he had to say:

    Quote

What a cool video! This synth was sitting around the office when I took my job at Ocean Software in January 1985. Naturally I took charge of it and played most of my Ocean tunes on it before they were programmed into the C64. I had the additive synth module but not the sequencer. It was fun to play around with... I tended to think it was a bit pointless because it was so thin-sounding that I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to use it. (and it is not exactly a legendary name in the synth pantheon)

More instrument fun from David Hilowitz:

By the way, he is the creator of the Decent Sampler.

  11. Act-Fancer: Cybernetic Hyper Weapon:

I played this at Galloping Ghost Arcade, and while I did like it; Act-Fancer is one tough game, even by arcade standards.

  12. For those who grew up on Arena and Daggerfall:

I hope those who are remaking these two in Unity don't make the same mistakes Bethesda did, or for that matter, what George Broussard did with Duke Nukem Forever.

    1. Reaperman

      Reaperman

I beat Daggerfall once--meaning I got it installed and working as well as could be expected with a painfully-researched fan-patch stack. It took most of a week. After that, there was some boring post-game content about a king's ghost, and a werewolf curse.🤣

  13. The Metal Morph OST:

Possibly one of the few things that Origin Systems got right with this one.

  14. Plok - Pokey Edition:

I know he's done TONS of stuff!  (He was even the monster in the 80's movie Terror Vision?  HMmm)...

But I always just think of him as the Unicorn in the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon.

Frank Welker - the richest actor in Hollywood that no one knows! To me he'll always be Megatron to Peter Cullen's Prime.

  18. Friendly reminder that Matt Furniss is on SoundCloud:

However, he doesn't have all of his music on there.

  19. I'm surprised that emergent gameplay isn't more common amongst indie-AA titles. By Emergent Gameplay, I'm talking about what is seen in Syvalion, Clock Tower, and Westwood's Blade Runner.

    1. Wayler

      Wayler

Couldn't first figure out how a shooter would have similarities to point&click adventures but upon looking into it, looks like Syvalion mixes story elements as well as randomizes the stages.

Blade Runner is a classic and a must have companion if you love the movie.

  20. Silpheed Alternative: Menace From Beyond the Stars:

This feels like it belonged on the 3DS or PS Vita. Here's hoping that GungHo Online Entertainment lets Game Arts re-master this for modern hardware and proper controller support.

  21. Silpheed: The Lost Planet, aka Silpheed: The Forgotten Sequel:

I don't know which is the saddest: the death of Takeshi Miyaji, Treasure not making any new games, or Game Arts being owned by Gung-Ho Entertainment and re-releasing the first two Grandia games. By the way, there's a bonus for Symphony of the Night fans and Classic Resident Evil.

    1. SlidellMan

      SlidellMan

I have to admit, the briefing screen music is excellent:

Edit: By "Re-releasing the first two Grandia games," I meant only the first two games, and not their other classics such as Thexder, Silpheed, Faria, Alicia Dragoon, Zeliard, and the Lunar series that wasn't Dragon Song. (AKA Lunar: Gone to dog shit.)

  22. Another Neon Struct video:

    Ultima Underworld: Unity edition:

Bad news regarding System Shock 3:

  23. If you people loved Deus Ex and Thief: The Dark Project, here's some more games in the vein of those two worth checking out:

    Neon Struct - https://store.steampowered.com/app/310740/NEON_STRUCT/

Brigand Oaxaca (Deus Ex in Mexico) - https://store.steampowered.com/app/652410/Brigand_Oaxaca/

As for Underworld Ascendant, it's pathetic as to what happened. Postal 4 pathetic, to be blunt.

Sorry about that, Corby, even I make grammatical mistakes.

  24. Friendly reminder that licensed music is why the Psygnosis-era Wipeout games haven't been re-released on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Store. I'm talking about the DOS/Windows 95 ports, by the way. (Ditto for Wipeout 64.)

      I know.

I just think if I ever did a Video Game, Movie, TV Show or other creation,  I'd only use a "One time Fee" licensing...(No residuals nor royalties).  You'd simply offer more up front,  then if the band turned it down you'd get someone else who wants to do it.   Just my reasoning.

It's The Wonder Years and WKRP in Cincinnati all over again...

Northern Exposure as well. I was disappointed with the DVDs because they replaced a lot of the original music from season 2 on. I was quite happy a couple years ago when I discovered it was remastered in HD and released with all the original music. Minor issue though, it's from the UK so you need to be able to handle Region B discs (which I can).

    4. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

I have 3 seasons of Northern Exposure DVDs but I've only ever watched a handful of episodes...I saw most when it ran in syndication.  I did not realize that about the music...HMMMmmm...🤬

  25. New Boulder Punch video, this time it's Lifeline:

I suggest chipping into his Patreon, and requesting that he review something obscure as Deep Fear, Super Burnout, the Angelique franchise, or Lucienne's Quest.
