  1. Texas Instruments Home Computer Awareness Program Children-Level II Instructors Guide, Computer Advantage Club. Scanned to PDF attached. I think these are the only digital copies in existence. Please store in a good archive. One more book to go. TI_HomeComputerAwarenessProgram_Children-Level_II_InstructorsGuide_ComputerAdvantageClub.zip
  2. *FIXED* - Original post had incorrect cover. More to come by end of day hopefully. TI_HomeComputerAwarenessProgram_Adults-Level_II_InstructorsGuide_ComputerAdvantageClub.zip
  3. I made a mistake. I will fix when I start my next scanning session. The front cover of this is wrong. It's the cover from the childrens level II, but the file name and rest of the content is correct for this scan.
  4. Hi all, I know, it's been a while. Life has a way. So I recently acquired a donation of TI gear, books and Newsletters from back in the day. A lot of stuff to scan. will take months if I can do it in all my spare time. I post pictures on this facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ti99ers/?multi_permalinks=10159329724879844&notif_id=1628291488571432&notif_t=feedback_reaction_generic&ref=notif In the comments, a member posted this: James Fetzner The contents of these instructor guides haven't been archived anywhere, Lenny Rivera. Yuo might want to scan them for posterity. One note: the Computer Awareness Program booklets sitting next to the binders are already archived--it is the instructor guides that haven't been. So this is the first of the two books. I have pretty busy weekends, i don't know when I'll get the second book done or all of the other paperwork/newsletters. Apparently, this gear once belonged to the TI99ers York, PA User's Group. I Don't know why it was abandoned. It was found during renovations at an electrical power plant. they used to rent out space to various groups and organizations. A good firend fo mine was chared with disposing it. When it saw "Texas Instruments TI-99/4a" he gave me a call knowing my interest in such things. I will keep and preserve as much hardware as I can. As for the documentation, after I scan it in, I don't really need to keep them. I would like to see if anyone knows of a Museum or something I can donate the hard copies to for public preservation and display? Anyway, first scanned book attached, I will get to the second when I can and then move on to the stacks and stack of newsletters I have as well. 5. Just placed my second vote - This is getting exciting. I've often tried similar things to get an Amga dedicated laptop. I did eventually get it to work well using AF7 with it's linux base to boot, but it's pretty limited. I would love to setup another old laptop I have here as a dedicated TI emulator. So you'll get some booter votes from me when i remember to do so.
  6. Oh, BTW - I found a tutorial explaining how to use the Action reply 6 built in Cartridge to save game states.
  7. I have a pre-order for the V4sa. Hopeful it'll ship in a month or so. I wish they had a Vampire stand alone that included all the original external ports. It's nice to have original HW but all of it is aging and harder to repair as time goes on. Without the communities out there designing and selling modern alternatives I'm afraid emulation on a modern computer will win out in the end. There's something about original hardware and peripherals that just make it so desirable. However, I can say that between the C64mini and the Ultimate 64 Elite, I've got myself pretty much where I've wanted to be regarding the C64 in general. And I will still get myself the full size c64mini (max) when it comes to the US.
  8. It arrived on christmas eve. I just got it in a C64 case with keyboard. I flashed the roms and the firmware. Configure it and got an original 1541 drive connected and working. Using my slick stick. Was able to load up a sample of my friends disk collection and make them into d64 images and they work. Always wanting a real c64 this is the next best thing in my opinion. My buddy has a whole box full of disks, out of the 4 sampler pack, one floppy was bad. Otherwise, loving it. Haven't researched enough yet to see if there are any tricks to do a save state and load it up again. That'd be over the top. I don't have any real c64 carts to use as it does also have a cartridge port. Got dolphinDOS running on it for fast loading and that works pretty nicely so far. Anyway, here it is connected to an HDMI TV (I'm going 4:3 35" CRT tomorrow) as I set it up and did the flashing and testing of a disk. So nice...
  9. No issues there on mine. On a side note, I found this joystick mod I am going to do to mine. Hopefully this weekend. I often wondered what people did when they say they shelved the original joystick and use their own. How do they resolve the extra system buttons for saving and loading game states? anyway, this mod looks to be perfect for my needs.
  10. I am on the top of the list for the second batch of Ultimate 64 elite boards. paid in full over a year ago. I 'm very excited for it and wish it could be here before christmas, but I'm guessing sometime early 2020.
  11. LOL. Yeah I know. It was one of those projects I started without a clean cut plan and just ran around my basement grabbing things I could use. I will never open the cover again as long as it remains 100% working. So far so good. No one needs to know what it looks like under the hood (outside of a couple of internet posts).
  12. So my c64mini joystick broken a while back nd I did a repair. Then it starting getting flaky on my so I did a second repair and after testing I have to take it apart one more time to make some adjustments. Got very frustrating and to top it off my repair was a little off so the joystick sits at a minor but noticeable angle which causes issues. Decided to buy a replacement joystick on Amazon. WOA! Sticker shock! $29.99 for replacement joystick. Scroll down to see if there is another listed at a lower price and there is the c64Mini itself for sale...$30.99. Looks like I'm going to have 2 soon. LOL. With free next day delivery. Kind of like ink jet printers these days, almost the same price to buy a new printer instead of new ink cartridges. funny. I'll mod the new joystick proper this time before it breaks. The new mini will now become my "travel" c64mini solution leaving this full sized conversion home when the situation calls for it.
  13. I think I mentioned I never owned a C64 but played a lot on Friends computers back in the day. My parents went the TI-99/4a way which i don't egret now. But my current C64 experience is the mini converted to full sized. I am also eagerly awaiting my Ultimate 64 Elite to ship as soon as its ready. My frist two C64 computers were donated broken but I have the case and KBs to use - one for the mini conversion and then next for the U64E. Also have a 1541 I have yet to see if it works. I continue to play Castles of Dr. Creep. Current castle really difficult. My next greatest game moment; and consequently next few, will be each castle completed culminated by completing the entire game. I'm sure at this rate it will take another year or so. LOl. I feel glad to be enjoying this platform for the first now.
  14. Maybe 2 adaptors? https://www.amazon.com/Ksmile®-Right-Degree-Female-Adapters/dp/B01C6031MA/ref=pd_sbs_23_t_0/139-1992286-6294310?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01C6031MA&pd_rd_r=150d2043-396b-4d7b-808f-1feb41e44b86&pd_rd_w=x44HV&pd_rd_wg=t4a44&pf_rd_p=5cfcfe89-300f-47d2-b1ad-a4e27203a02a&pf_rd_r=JVYZJ8PBC5WGV19FEZ45&psc=1&refRID=JVYZJ8PBC5WGV19FEZ45
  15. Unmodified TI on Modified PEB I use an old 13" CRT TV. Original look. Modified TI with F18A I use a coby TV with HDMI Converter. Plugs into KVM for convenience with multiple computers sharing the same screen keyboard and mouse next to my everyday PC.
  16. Still using it weekly. Granted I am only playing the Castles of Dr Creep at the moment (until I finish all 12 castles). And it's more fun now since I did the conversion on it and put it in a large case if only for the keyboard functionality. Just thought, after a while; I'd answer the OP "Anybody own the C64 Mini? Impressions?" - I really like it. At the lower price point I purchased it for and with the community build allowing USB sticks to load game images, I'm pretty impressed. And I use the default joystick with it even after breaking and repairing it, the system is giving me much joy.
  17. It's "The Castles of Dr. Creep" by Ed Hobbs.
  18. Ah, the ATX PSU PEB mod topic. It was fun and a great learning experience. The AA link has many broken photo links hence the public FB link right after with photos from start to finish.. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10206883911608295&id=1592441926&ref=bookmarks
  19. Plugged it in to my WinX PC. Plugged in Atari style joystick that comes with the Retron 77. Brought c64 forever (Vice based). Some minor config changes for controller (Selecting the correct one) Ran Castles of Dr. Creep. Smooth as silk! Love this, thank you much for making it!
