? Yes definitely a +1. Was a great reference to a great movie. I use to put my arms up and say i duddits all the time when i accomplished something i was working on.
My youngest boy's name is Jonas. He always hated me calling him Jonesy. I loved getting him to say "I'm not Jonesy!" So I could look sternly at him and say "You're not Jonesy.".
Oh, and I still throw my hands in the air and yell "I Duddits!" Upon happy victories. Hence the topic.

The keyrah has solder holes for the usb so you can solder the usb wire internally so you dont have to have the usb cable sticking out and plugging back into the keyrah. Also did you set your keyboard in the mini to uk to have keys all correctly located?
I know and soldered pins and made my own cable. But it didn't work. I can revisit anytime. Wasn't in the mood so I opted to just use the external port.
As for locale setting. I tried both and ended up sticking with US. Both key settings were accurate for me with one or two exceptions for each.

It's my answer to the new c64 full size. Total cost about $80 plus my time.

I know everyone is gonna wanna see the inside. When I feel like cracking it open again I'll be sure to update this post.
I fit a C64Mini + PSU, 4-port powered USB3 hub + PSU, KeyRah v2, 3' extension cord, circuit breaker and a 8" PC female to male power cord into an original C64 case. Keyrah v2 allows for 3 things over USB. Original C64 Keyboard and 2 x C64 game ports (original 9 pin DIN) plus power LED. Keyrah plugs into 4-Port powered USB Hub. USB hub plugs into C64mini, c64mini joystick plugs into c64mini, USB thumbdrive with floppy disk imaged plugs into 4-port hub. As always, it's ugly and I love it. But not so bad on the outside to spite C64 case modifications..-

I repaired my Joystick and mulling all this over I came across this....
$35 for the Keyrah and I have a c64 case with keyboard. Going to give this a try once it arrives.

I wonder if this would work with something like the c64 mini. do you have instructions and code posted someplace? Or selling per chance?

If only I saw this first. My give it a try anyway. I little glu than this mod will be less drastic than what I had in mind. My save me some work. Thanks.

Aaaaannnnnnd the joystick snapped in half. Last night. Tried several fixes. None worked. I guess its time for a new modding project. I have an arcade joystick from an Old Mr. Do's castle cabinet. I'm going to see if I can solder the contacts to the controller board and make a wooden box for the contraption. Perhaps this coming weekend (tomorrow or Sunday).

Someone posted this on Atari Age Amiga group. I will have this come next bonus check (about a month out). Thinking of a custom TI to Atari controller adaptor that matches the connections on this would make for a cool gadget. I'm pretty convinced I'll get 2 may 3 or these kits (TI, Amiga, C64).

Now there is a Bluetooth adapter so that you can use Bluetooth devices (gamepads, mice, etc.) with your Commodore and other classic computers, like Amiga! See the Unijoysticle 2 website at

I guess it depends on price. I dropped a pretty penny on the Ultimate 64 elite (preordered) so It's going to be hard to get yet another modernized c64. I suppose I'm open to the possibility depending on price and reviews..

I got the Navarone after the fg99. Want to use it to learn from and someday complete my 4 cart port version of it which, if all goes to plan, will be FG99 and FR99 compatible. With Dragon's Lair out and some other carts that aren't FG99 compatible, I think there is still a use for this. Just need time to learn PCB software because using jumper cables has proved too complex for me. I recently purchase a caliper so I can accurately measure everything on the Navarone then recreate a board with the new wiring.

Just a quick thought on those USB chargers for power. Check to make sure the power output is not referenced to the utility input, otherwise you run the risk of introducing 60Hz noise into your device, or worse yet creating a path for full wall voltage through it. I found the USB supply in my desk does not have proper isolation and when I was using it to power my nanoPEB I could not get good CS1 saves. Had there been any ground potential difference between my TI and any device to which it was connected, like a monitor, etc., I could have sent harmful voltage through the entire rig.
Not sure what to do about a 60Hz noise but for ground; would having the TI and all related externally powered peripherals connected to the same outlet eliminate that risk? Say for instance the same surge protector or UPS? I never really understood those things completely. Up here in the boonies, our homes are grounded on a common ground to, well, the ground, via a thick copper grounding wire from the house to the dirt. Or maybe I'm mistaken? I'm sure I am but would love to learn a bit more about it. As for the 60Hz noise, is there a tester for that? Or an easier way to tell for the average Schmoe?

I have just pushed a version 1.41 to release... It adds facilities to the post-upgrade script so that future upgrades can determine if they need to do all the expensive work, or just restart the TIPI python services (fast upgrade)
If coming from a version earlier than 1.41 it will still run the slow update. versions after that will depend on what code has changed, but now I have a place to evaluate the before and after version number to make decisions.
I wanted to get this in, before I build a new SD Card image.
There are no other features in this version. You can pay the price now, or later when a feature is actually delivered.

Upgrade to 1.41 went flawlessly. Although I didn't realize I was 2 versions down - or so it appeared. There was an Update, completed that fine, then another update to v1.41 - Which bring me to another questions. And I've searched AA but could not find the answer.
The DSR - I'm on TiPi-DSR_2018-05-01. If my recollection doesn't fail me the next 2 are based around the TiPi start beep and the Geneve. That's to say, without a Geneve, there was no reason to go to TiPi-DSR_2018-06-05 or the latest TiPi-DSR_2018-06-23. Is that correct? Or should I update due to some bug fix I missed?

I've been out of the loop a bit and am interested in all you newly found excitement. But a bit lost.
So ou use force command to load cart images off FG99 and you use the EA5 file to what? I would be interest in a topic thread about how you are now using your FG99, possibly with step by step setup and pictures?
I'm interest in all the Pros and Cons of this newly found setup you are using. If your FG99 boots to force command, how do you recall all the carts you have on the fg99 and know what to load when you want it? All that jaxx and what nots. I haven't even figured out stuart's web browser or the group chat thing yet.
Update: I renamed it to INTERNET and INTERNEU and stuck it in my TIPI's root directory.

Yep. I purchased one of these to handle the rPi on Tipi and also use it to power the tiPi along with several other devices. But, I've seen the yellow lightning bolt still. Usually during boot up not during regular usage. I'm going to attach the USB power device to the connections this weekend and see what's going on. Possibly get a stand alone rPi PSU just for that if I'm skimmed the capabilities of this device.
Cool gadget. The yellow lightning bolt usually indicates there is not enough amperage being supplied to power the device. I have also found various USB power adapters that claim they are 2 amps not even produce the required 1.5. lately I have been sticking with the real raspberry pi adapter and have had no issues.

Picked up one of these. I sometimes get the yellow lightning bolt on my rPI for TiPi and always wondered if other USB chargers and such were really performing as advertised. Comes it handy. thought i'd share...

Yeah... I think I'm going to deal with the renaming one game at a time as I play the ones I really want to play now. Over time I'll get to the ones I try and such. doubt I'll ever get the entire collection done. With the short naming convention it's awfully hard to tell what games they are. So a spreadsheet will get built as I make my way through the collection. Way too much to sit down and try to do as a side project alone I think.
I too wonder on this. Of the 3000 game file they are all stupidly long names and it would take a while to edit and compress the names for them all.
When I downloaded the Ransom Rom pack (273 games) they are all nicely labelled and organized alphabetically and I would like the 3000 games to look the same in the menu but not have to edit all of them!

Yep - FAt32 - same here. I didn't go much further than my last post. The objective for me it do list our the original file names next to the renamed ones for the mini and the full name of the game in a spreadsheet and keep it handy.
I'm hooked on The castles of Dr Creep - again - and will probably be stuck with that one game for a while. It runs the best I've played on the mini. The Steam PC version is a bit rough with an XBox360 game controller and that's all I've got for the emulators on PC as well. I don't mind the controller it came with at all, seems to work perfectly fine for me and CoDC is one of those precision games where movement and timing are critical
Going to pick up one of those Atari 2600 USB controllers for player 2. My powered USB hub arrived yesterday, i have yet to use it tho. Going to wait until i get the second controller. I also purchased one of those USB power modules that reports on power draw with a digital display. That will come in handy for many things like my rPIs and other USB powered peripherals.
.
Glad to be of help. Have fun! It is a rather neat little device. BTW, that character limit on the file names: did you format it FAT16? I used FAT32 and all my files names are long.

To answer the topic. Yes. although June is pretty booked up right now. July is looking OK.

Disregard my last post - finally got it working. I had to edit a bunch of files on the rpi just to get connected to the wifi. then I had to edit my hosts file on my PC to get the old drive mapping working again.
About to take a backup image of the sd card for safe keeping but my TI and TiPi are back in action.

Not yet but I will. I've not checked every key. It's an old keyboard and i don't know if it's 100% or not. when I first connected it, I had the jumpers set to Amiga, so things weren't that fun. Went from UK to US on the mini each with the switch in up and down. Until I realized my error. Then I just had the switch down and checked between UK and US again with a few keys and a few Shift+Key strokes, it was working fine. As soon as I saw that I powered it off and having powered it on since...yet. Been busy and squeezed this little project in as fast as i could given the amount of free time I had to make a mess and clean it up again.
No worries though. I plan to thoroughly put this thing through its paces. Especially when my U64Elite arrives. I'll do some side by side comparisons then.
I got all excited and disappointed at the same time when I saw The c64 I think its called. The new full sized "mini" with keyboard and 2 more USB ports.
I went for this project because it saved me some dough and I get the added bonus of 4 more ports for 6 total plus the two original controller ports. But now I'm just baballing....
