My favorites are the NES, 2600, Genesis and Turbo Duo. Current generation favorite is the Xbox. The last(?) classic console that I really want to get is an Intellivision. By the way, I have every console (except multiples) hooked up to one television via multiple switch-boxes. Just a few button presses and any of them are ready to go. No wire switching needed! They all reside in a custom made entertainment center that I designed, which unfortunately is pretty much full. I should be able to squeeze in an Intellivision. And when any new consoles come out, I'll just be screwed.

  2. I actually got a brand new Power Pad sealed in it's box with the solo World Class Track Meet cartridge enclosed from the official Nintendo website store a few years ago. My wife and I tried it out once, then I boxed it up and it now sits in the closet with my console boxes.

The only reason I would have to bring it out again would be if someone would make a homebrew title for it. Otherwise, there it will stay...

  3. I was just reading the other post about how to insert the 4 port BIOS into the 2 port, and this is something that I would really like to try. Are there any other places to get the 4 port BIOS chip other than just getting a 4 port 5200? Like a parts website or something?

  4. Thanks for the tips guys! It seems like it could very well be the switch. I'm generally pretty good with system repair, so I may open it up and take a look. This is just the first ColecoVision experience I've had. No one had one around me as a kid, and all I had growing up was the 2600 and later the NES, Genesis, etc. So, I'm not really familiar with the possible problems.

Another thing, I got all of the games to work except Rocky and Buck Rogers. Rocky gets to the screen where you select if you want to be Rocky or Clubber and when I select a number on the keypad, it breaks up and crashes every time. I've never seen a cartridge based game do this. I mean PC games, sure. And Buck is just a black screen. It never starts or gets to a difficulty selection screen or anything. Any ideas here? I guess it could still be the switch, it just seems odd that Rocky only crashes at that same point every time. After I choose any number. I guess I could open the cartridges up and take a look, but the labels are really nice and clean, so I hate to mess them up to get to the screws. And the contacts look quite clean. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

  5. I just got a ColecoVision lot off of eBay including the console, two regular controllers, 2 Super Action controllers, the Racing Wheel (Expansion Module 2) and 23 games. I got everything cleaned up and started testing games. Most games work pretty well, but the system is pretty touchy about others. I think it must be the cartridge slot on the console itself, because the games seems pretty clean. Is this a common problem with the ColecoVision? I mean, I know it's 22 years old, but I was just curious if this system in particular is really sensitive in this area? I tried cleaning the slot but am having a hard time thinking of something thin enough to fit in there rather well. And no, I haven't tried shoving my dick in it. Just thought I would get that joke out of the way! :D (Boy, maybe I have an unhealthy obsession? ) Anyone have any serious ideas?

  6. I did see that one on 4jays, but I assumed it was the out of date version with the switches and not the menu driven version. Thanks for pointing it out though.

And if I want Bounty Bob, I know the Multicart will not be able to help me. Thanks for the added input!

  7. Hey, I'm new to AtariAge (although I did buy a copy of Berzerk: Voice Enhanced at their booth at the 2002 Classic Gaming Expo, I believe), and new to the Atari 5200. I must say that I absolutely love the system. However, I have a two-port model and have heard that there are a few games that will not work on that model, like Pitfall!, for example. Is this true? And if so, what other games may I have a problem with?
