  1. Anyone have an extra working Sega CD they are willing to part with for a reasonable amount? Mine has issues and I'm sick of it.

I think I would prefer the model 2 version with the extension for the model 1 Genesis, but would take model 1 Sega CD if the price was right, also. I have an extra power adapter, so you can keep that, if you like.

Shoot me a PM, if you can help.

    Thanks!

  2. Yeah, come on man.

A modern game generally costs $59.99.

Without printing manuals, they need to knock at least $10 off.

The consumer is not getting as much material, but we're paying the same price?

    How is that fair?

Yeah, and now what am I going to read on the toilet? ;)

  3. I thought that I may as well shill my current eBay listings here:

I've seen a lot of talk about Genesis and Master System games in the Classic Gaming section over the past few months. I had a few extra systems and games that I thought I would toss out there and see what I could come away with.

I've also got some other games, comics and DVDs. SNES Harvest Moon with the box, but no manual.

    Make me rich! Or not...

  4. I don't want to hi-jack this thread, but I've been playing my Master System a lot lately.

I was curious about import games, though. Will games from around the world work on a U.S. Master System, without any modifications?

As for favorite games, I think the Master System has the best version of the original Ghostbusters game. I'm also a big fan of Cyborg Hunter (a little repetitive), Enduro Racer, Kenseiden, Montezuma's Revenge and Quartet (the only home version that I'm aware of). And R-Type. Can't forget R-Type.

I was never crazy about the Zillion games.

  5. I got the NES version cheap at KB Toys as a kid. My brother and I played it and thought it was okay for a discount/clearance purchase. Nothing spectacular, but certainly not the worst game I've ever played. Average.

Never tried Super, but will have to give it a shot...

  6. I'm pretty sure that there were at least two versions of this Genesis cart. I think the "batman" boss that looks like Batman and then the revised version where DC Comics pressured them to change the appearance of the "batman" boss. I'm not sure if any of the other bosses were changed, however. There was a "spider-man" boss and a "godzilla" boss, too.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Is there an easy way, without playing through the whole game, to see which version is on the cart?

  7. Has is been with everything you've tried to watch, or just one movie or show?

I've only had two issues while streaming (the wife and I have been using it almost daily since it started on Xbox 360 and a few watches on PC prior to that). One movie had sound sync issues, like you are describing. Another had music and sound effects, but the dialog was muted for some reason. I thought it was my home theater system, but everything else was fine, just that movie had an issue. I reported the issue on my Netflix account and that issue was corrected when I tried the same movie a few weeks later.

Make sure you report this stuff, so they know there are issues and they can correct them.

  8. Also, doesn't it seem like there are too many Game of the Year games? I don't know, maybe it just seems that way to me. I mean what is the criteria for being able to release a GOTY edition?

I actually just purchased the Fallout 3 GOTY edition. I've been wanting that game for a while, but just never had the time to get it. Now, if I ever have time to play it. I also kind of want the Batman Arkham Asylum game. I think that has a GOTY edition, too.

  9. Glad to hear that someone else has done this. I thought that maybe I was the only crazy.

I got pissed at one of the NBA 2K games. Maybe 2K8? No matter how large, your lead in a game is never safe. I got sick of the AI comebacks, opened the tray, grabbed the disc and crumpled it up. I was surprised that it didn't break or snap, just crumpled. I laughed at the fit of rage and then realized just how satisfied I felt. Ahh...relief. I'll just play some Double Dribble instead.

I also used to throw WWF No Mercy for N64 across the room, against the walls of an old apartment that I rented when the Survival mode pissed me off. The cartridge still works well to this day. Those little bastards are pretty tough.
