Any word on when we'll find out what the DC games are? I bought several items from you guys two years ago, so I look forward to doing more business with you this year! Glad to see the MGC is getting some support from Atari Age members. The more the better! Look forward to seeing you all there.

Is anyone going to be attending the Midwest Gaming Classic just outside of Milwaukee on May 22 & 23? I went 2 years ago and didn't stay for too long, maybe half the day. But I figured that it has become a bit larger from 2 years ago and thought I would give it another go. Plus my birthday is that weekend, so I thought the wife and I could make a mini trip out of it.

Need help with NES wrestling games
zombiecraig replied to figgler's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah, it's strange how the first wrestling game for the NES is the best. You would have thought that they could have improved a little over time. The best of the WWF games in my opinion is WWF WrestleMania Challenge. But I agree that Tecmo World Wrestling and Pro Wrestling are the two best games on that list. I tried to play TWW a while back and found it to be nearly impossible. Maybe I forgot how to play it, but I think I finished it a one point over a rental period in my youth. Then again, maybe I used a turbo controller... -
Need help with NES wrestling games
zombiecraig replied to figgler's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Let's see: Pro Wrestling (Nintendo) Tag Team Wrestling (Data East) M.U.S.C.L.E. (Bandai) WWF WrestleMania (Acclaim) I think this is the one previously mentioned as "Hulk Hogan Wrestling", as it does have Hogan on the cover ripping his shirt off. And it was from Acclaim. I don't think there has ever been a game called Hulk Hogan Wrestling. WWF WrestleMania Challenge (Acclaim/LJN) Tecmo World Wrestling (Tecmo) WCW World Championship Wrestling (FCI) WWF WrestleMania Steel Cage Challenge (Acclaim/LJN) WWF King of the Ring (Acclaim/LJN) Those are all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure that is all of the U.S. released NES wrestling games. -
Hey, I didn't realize that. Of course I do play MAME and some other emus, but I never checked out anything pinball related. Thanks for the info!

If you like Star Wars, the Super Star Wars series is pretty decent. Probably the best Star Wars related platformers. Though they can become redundant.

I only vaguely remember seeing this in the arcade when I was very young back in the early 80s. Can anyone explain the gameplay to me? Or better yet, link me to some screen shots. I sort of remember it maybe being a hybrid pinball machine with a video monitor that I assume was used for something gameplay-wise. It seems like a unique gimmick. Unfortunately it didn't last long at the local arcade. Was it a real stinker?

Yes, Arkanoid was released for the NES. It even came with it's own controller originally. A small gray box with a black "dial" switch similar to the 2600 paddles, but much smaller, and a single button.

Doesn't seem like a bad value. If some of the games are fairly decent. Let's see what I can make out: Baseball Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants Ice Hockey Pinball TMNT II: The Arcade Game Magic Johnson's Fast Break Karate Kid Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt Super Mario Bros. 3 Legend of Zelda Captain Skyhawk Pebble Beach Golf Tetris 2 NES Play Action Football Back to the Future Hogan's Alley Rush'n Attack ? Jackal Mega Man 2 ? Street Fighter 2010 Top Gun Section Z ? (too much glare) Swords & Serpents Super Team Games? Snake's Revenge Gremlins 2 Double Dribble Bases Loaded Wrath of the Black Manta And it seems there are 8 games at the top of the full picture that aren't in the close-ups. The question marks are for the games in the close shots that I just can't make out. Maybe someone else can pick those out for you. Overall, some good games, some average, but quite a few poor ones as well. Not the best deal, but not terrible. It all depends. If you enjoy them, then it's worth it. Plus, getting a large bundle at once is always fun!

I've been considering getting the Network Adapter for the PS2 and the start-up kit for Xbox Live recently. Is one system really better than the other for online gaming? I know that you have to pay for Xbox Live, but doesn't the start-up kit come with "12 free months"? And then a friend of mine gave me a card for 12 free months just the other day, so I should be set for two full years of free gaming unless there are hidden fees. Anyway, basically what I'm asking is, are they worth it and is one better than the other as far as features available and reliability?

Actually Friday the 13th is only a one player game, unless you have a party and alternate players between the camp councelors. The NES version of A Nightmare on Elm Street is a 4 player game, but I don't recall how it worked.

When the hell is DirecTV going to carry G4?!? I've been bothering then with occassional emails ever since it launched, and still no luck. Oh! But they recently got the TV Guide channel! Which is totally useless because DirecTV already has a guide automatically! ARGH! They better get the new Horror Channel when it launches in October or I may have to say "Hello" to Comcast.

RESCUE: The Embassy Mission on the NES was always a favorite of mine. I never really hear anyone say much about it. Nice combination of gameplay elements. -

Sounds like Mendel Palace to me. Made by Hudson Soft, if I recall correctly. -

Looks like I jumped into this a little late, but oh well... Atari 2600: 2 woodgrain, non-heavy sixers (aka non-big sexys ), 1 "Darth Vader" w/box, 87 games (not counting multiple copies). Atari 5200: 2 port version w/box. Just Pac-Man (and a Multicart on the way!). Atari 7800: w/box and 7 games. Atari Jaguar: w/box and 7 games. ColecoVision: w/Super Action Controllers, Racing Wheel and 23 games. NES: 1 Front loader w/box, 1 Top loader and 332 games not counting multiples. SNES: Original model w/box and 37 games. Nintendo 64: w/box and 8 games. GameCube: w/box Game Boy Player and 12 games. Game Boy: 1 Japanese GBA w/box and Afterburner light kit installed, 1 GBA SP w/box and 39 GB, GBC and GBA games. Sega Master System: Original model and 42 boxed games. Sega Genesis: Original model w/box, Original front loading Sega CD, 32X add-on w/box and 76 boxed Genesis games, 1 unboxed, 6 boxed 32X games and 6 boxed Sega CD games. Sega Saturn: w/box and 4 boxed games. Sega Dreamcast: w/box and 11 games. Turbo Duo: w/box and 6 games. PlayStation: Original model w/box and 36 games. PlayStation 2: w/box and 17 games. Xbox: w/box and 11 games. My favorites are the NES, 2600, Genesis and Turbo Duo. Current generation favorite is the Xbox. The last(?) classic console that I really want to get is an Intellivision. By the way, I have every console (except multiples) hooked up to one television via multiple switch-boxes. Just a few button presses and any of them are ready to go. No wire switching needed! They all reside in a custom made entertainment center that I designed, which unfortunately is pretty much full. I should be able to squeeze in an Intellivision. And when any new consoles come out, I'll just be screwed. -
Just got the NES Power Pad - Need Advice
zombiecraig replied to figgler's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I actually got a brand new Power Pad sealed in it's box with the solo World Class Track Meet cartridge enclosed from the official Nintendo website store a few years ago. My wife and I tried it out once, then I boxed it up and it now sits in the closet with my console boxes. The only reason I would have to bring it out again would be if someone would make a homebrew title for it. Otherwise, there it will stay... -

No, Sorcerer is a piece of crap that I rather enjoy. I think the one you're talking about is either The Immortal or Solstice. -
Thanks, Mitch! I sent you an email and a PM.

I was just reading the other post about how to insert the 4 port BIOS into the 2 port, and this is something that I would really like to try. Are there any other places to get the 4 port BIOS chip other than just getting a 4 port 5200? Like a parts website or something?

Here's a scary one: Sorcerer - Atari 2600 I really find it to be quite addictive. Maybe that music has hypnotic qualities or something. -
ColecoVision cleaning ideas
zombiecraig replied to zombiecraig's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Thanks for the tips guys! It seems like it could very well be the switch. I'm generally pretty good with system repair, so I may open it up and take a look. This is just the first ColecoVision experience I've had. No one had one around me as a kid, and all I had growing up was the 2600 and later the NES, Genesis, etc. So, I'm not really familiar with the possible problems. Another thing, I got all of the games to work except Rocky and Buck Rogers. Rocky gets to the screen where you select if you want to be Rocky or Clubber and when I select a number on the keypad, it breaks up and crashes every time. I've never seen a cartridge based game do this. I mean PC games, sure. And Buck is just a black screen. It never starts or gets to a difficulty selection screen or anything. Any ideas here? I guess it could still be the switch, it just seems odd that Rocky only crashes at that same point every time. After I choose any number. I guess I could open the cartridges up and take a look, but the labels are really nice and clean, so I hate to mess them up to get to the screws. And the contacts look quite clean. Let me know if you have any suggestions. -
I just got a ColecoVision lot off of eBay including the console, two regular controllers, 2 Super Action controllers, the Racing Wheel (Expansion Module 2) and 23 games. I got everything cleaned up and started testing games. Most games work pretty well, but the system is pretty touchy about others. I think it must be the cartridge slot on the console itself, because the games seems pretty clean. Is this a common problem with the ColecoVision? I mean, I know it's 22 years old, but I was just curious if this system in particular is really sensitive in this area? I tried cleaning the slot but am having a hard time thinking of something thin enough to fit in there rather well. And no, I haven't tried shoving my dick in it. Just thought I would get that joke out of the way! (Boy, maybe I have an unhealthy obsession? ) Anyone have any serious ideas?

Really? Okay then. Thanks again!

I did see that one on 4jays, but I assumed it was the out of date version with the switches and not the menu driven version. Thanks for pointing it out though. And if I want Bounty Bob, I know the Multicart will not be able to help me. Thanks for the added input!
