  1. Just wanted to say happy birthday! It seems as though we have that in common. Have a good one!

  2. Just wanted to say happy birthday! It seems as though we have that in common. Have a good one!

  3. Hey, thanks a lot! I really appreciate it! Happy birthday to you, as well!

That's a great photo, by the way!

  4. Thanks, man! I appreciate it.

  5. hmm, hard to remember exactly... this may seem like a stupid question but did you press Z for options and see if there are view options? I do seem to recall there is an option to use the Super Gameboy backdrops on GB games and that there were a couple of resolution settings as well. Another thing to try when you don't know which button does what is press all of them one after the other Nope. I can't find anything. I guess there may be know way to remove that. Seems pretty ridiculous, to me. I guess I'll just have to play it on an actual GBA or DS.
  6. Truly impressive! Congratulations! Now, two questions: First, out of your Genesis collection, which five games do you pull down and play the most? Second, just for the sake of curiosity, which manuals are you still missing? Okay, one more. Is that also a complete Sega CD collection? I'm not sure how many were released, but it looks like you have quite a few.
  7. I was playing the GBA version of Final Fantasy II earlier and it's the first time that I've used the Game Boy Player in several years. Is there any way to hide the "Press Z for Options" thing that is on the top right of the screen? I'm afraid that's it's going to burn into my plasma television.
  8. cosmosiss took two of the Wico joysticks off my hands, so only one more of those remain! Thank you, cosmosiss!
  9. Yeah, I'm curious how others store their GBA and Game Boy games? I'm not one to save boxes for most systems, and I didn't keep boxes for my Game Boy or GBA games. Right now, mine are being stored in a little bin, separate from the rest of my collection. Most of the time, I forget that I even have them. It would be nice if there were a binder of some sort that would hold them nicely. Like a binder for CDs, only for GBA and Game Boy games. At least I could place the binder on a shelf and it would look pretty nice. Any ideas on this?
  10. I have a collection of items that I need to get rid of and wanted to see if anyone here would be interested. I'll take cash offers or trades for items that I'll list below. Here are some pics of the random controllers: 2 of these are pending payment! These were tested a while back and were working then. One of the Super Action Controllers does have a bit of a rattle. I have a few other games and DVDs that I would like to offer for sale or trade also, no pics for these, but they are all in barely played condition: The Simpsons Season 1 DVD set The Simpsons Season 2 DVD set 360 Condemned MLB 2K7 NBA 2K7 Xbox Half Life 2 Metal Slug 3 (I got this one used so it has a few light scratches) Metal Slug 4/5 (sealed) Sega GT 2002/Jet Set Radio Future Splinter Cell Shenmue II GameCube Resident Evil Resident Evil 4 PS2 The Thing Dreamcast Shenmue Genesis Strider Returns (game and case - not in the best shape) I also have boxes for SNES Street Fighter 2, GBA Metroid Zero Mission, GBA Capcom Classics Mini Mix and GBA Gunstar Super Heroes if anyone wants them. I also have the entire early run of WWF Saturday Night's Main Event on VHS. These were recorded from TV, so quality does vary. Not included are the more recent NBC WWE episodes. I think there are 6-7 tapes in all. I can't sell them on eBay due to copyright issues, but they've served me well over the years and I hate to just toss them. TRADE LIST - Here are a few games that I am looking for: 2600 (cartridge only is fine) Pitfall II Spider-Man SNES (cartridge only is fine) Adventures of Batman & Robin Blackthorne Demon's Crest Inspector Gadget Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems Separation Anxiety Speed Racer Spider-Man (the animated series game) Sunset Riders T2: Arcade UN Squadron WCW Zombies ate my Neighbors Genesis Ranger X (cartridge only is fine; I have the case and manual) Dragon's Fury (w/case) Crue Ball (w/case) James Bond - The Duel (w/case) Mercs (w/case) NHL '95 (w/case) Road Blasters (w/case) I'm also looking for WWF In Your House complete in pretty nice shape for PS1 and ECW Anarchy Rulz complete in pretty nice shape for DC or PS1 (I think?) And I also need a nice looking Dreamcast keyboard, if anyone has one to spare. Also, if anyone is looking to move any TG-16 games (case, manual, HU-card - no cardboard box needed), I'd be willing to listen to offers on those, as well. Oh, and I haven't done a whole lot of trading around here, but feel free to check my eBay reputation. My eBay ID is zombiecraig.
  11. Definitely not off topic. This is the Wii forum. Any Wii news can be posted here, I would think. I had not heard this, so thanks for the heads-up! Hopefully, it will be decent.
  12. Yeah, if by "nerdiest" you really mean fucking awesome!
  13. I have no issues with the violence, as it's rated M. I doubt that I'll pick it up, certainly not any time soon. The problem that I have with the game, is that it sounds absolutely massive. It's just too intimidating. I don't have time for that anymore. I have way too many games that I have not touched the way it is. I played through the first section of San Andreas on a rental. Then I bought the game on Xbox and played through the first section again. Then I sold it. I just didn't feel the need to keep going. I don't have any problems with the series. I thought what I played of San Andreas was good, and I can certainly see why people like it. It's just not something that I want to get into.
  14. what is the newest Contra game? Contra 4 for the DS in the most recent.
  15. I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I checked today's new downloadable list and it looks like the first complete album has been released. Judas Priest's Screaming for Vengeance is now available. I honestly would have preferred British Steel slightly over this album, but I really shouldn't even consider complaining. Vintage Priest is hard to top. The only thing better would have been an Iron Maiden album. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son or Powerslave would have been awesome, or Somewhere in Time or the full The Number of the Beast. ...or maybe Motorhead's Ace of Spades.
  16. Well, I won the Sega Master System version off of eBay for $10.50 complete in box earlier. Everyone seems to like this game, so I'm hoping for the best.
  17. Any fans of this game? I've never really played it and I'm just curious if it is worth tracking down? Also, what is the best version? I am aware of ColecoVision, Atari 2600 & 5200 and Sega Master System versions. I'm sure there a numerous classic computer versions, as well. I also recall a remake or sequel of sorts for Game Boy or Game Boy Color. I used to see ads for this in comic books back in the 80s and it always seemed pretty interesting. I was actually reading some old comics recently and ran across the old ad which reminded me of the game. It doesn't see that you ever hear too much about it. Was it a bust? Or just a forgotten gem?
  18. I'll get in on this for a few platforms. I'll have to skip some because I don't want to go look at the games or don't have enough games to consider. 2600: H.E.R.O. Stampede Yars' Revenge NES: Bionic Commando Mega Man 2 Tecmo Super Bowl Master System: Ghostbusters Quartet R-Type Genesis: X-Men 2 Flashback Outlander SNES: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Super Star Wars Super Mario Kart N64: WWF No Mercy WCW/nWo Revenge Mario Kart 64 PlayStation: Metal Gear Solid Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Spider-Man PS2: Madden Guitar Hero Victorious Boxers Xbox: Return to Castle Wolfenstein Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time The Warriors GameCube: Eternal Darkness Star Wars: Rogue Leader Ultimate Muscle Xbox 360: Rock Band Dead Rising Marvel Ultimate Alliance
  19. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have been. I simply cannot stop playing the Road to the Show mode. Have fun!
  20. No, I'm okay with the analog stick swinging (though I prefer the timing button press method), it's the analog stick pitching that I think is a little too much of a gimmick and just a bit too complex. You have to move the stick in a pattern to complete the pitch. For instance, to throw a curve ball, you may have to make a circular motion around one side with the stick. If you are not right on with the timing and motion of the pattern, the pitch will not be effective. It just takes away too much of the fun, in my opinion. Like I said, if you like the challenge and feel that you can master the system, 2K8 may be for you. I however, would rather stick with the classic style. And yes, I really do feel that MLB 08 is the better overall game this year.
  21. I've been waiting to hear some impressions on MLB 08, it looks great, love to hear some of your comments on this game?? I didn't want to hijack this thread in case it gets a "sticky", so I posted my thoughts on MLB 08: The Show in a new thread here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=122570
  22. Anyone else playing this? I'm really enjoying this game. I think that it's only the second game from this series that I have tried. I didn't play last year's game, though I'm pretty sure that I played a little of the '06 game and really didn't care for it too much. I'm glad that this one is holding my interest. I've played a few exhibition games and they seem pretty solid. This game features the old style press the button to swing and pitch with timing aspects, similar to the old High Heat series and earlier incarnations of MVP (I think they implemented an analog "swing stick" later on, didn't they?). After trying the new, overly complex pitching system of MLB 2K8, I'm glad that I went with this game. I can understand if people enjoy the challenge of learning the new system in 2K8, but I'd prefer to stick with a more solid, time-tested control scheme. I generally don't get into a season mode until the Opening Day rosters are released, but that's okay, because I am hopelessly addicted to the Road to the Show mode. You create a player and bring him up through the farm system. I had a terrible spring training and was dumped into AA, but it's fantastic! Reaching goals and building up player stats makes for a habit forming "one more game" approach. This is truly the best "create a player and take him to the top" mode that I've come across. So much better than Madden's Superstar mode. It focuses on your at bats and plays in the field, asks you to drive in runs or steal bases for reward points, even presenting hit & run and bunt opportunities. I'm only in my second month of AA, but so far so good. It seems very realistic for the most part. My worst fear was that I would not have to toil in the minors long enough. I have noticed a few general bugs that did not really effect game play. Tonight in a 2 player exhibition game, my friend was somehow able to access my bullpen for a moment and begin warming up a pitcher. I then sat him, and he tried again and simply accessed his bullpen. Maybe just a temporary sixaxis signal glitch? And in Road to the Show, the system has a problem overwriting previous saves sometimes. It will simply create new files instead, which you must manually delete. A little annoying, though it doesn't effect gameplay. This is definitely the best baseball game that I have played in some time. I played a lot of 2K7 last year, and this tops that in my book. Probably the best since MVP 2005. And the presentation is fantastic! Incredible graphics and sound. There are graphical glitches from time to time with players sliding through other players when being tagged out. They're still called out, though, so this is just a slight cosmetic flaw. It certainly doesn't bring the game down for me, at all. I definitely recommend this one. If you don't mind not having analog swinging, give this one at least a rent and definitely check out the Road to the Show mode.
