  1. A review of the pack in games would be cool!
  2. I have an extensive gameboy collection and then went over to NES and mega drive and started watching some retro gaming channels on youtube. Eventually I found a very good deal online for an Atari + like 20 games and I really loved it. It's simple and easy yet hard and challenging. And ideal for sort play sessions. (I hardly ever have time these days so big RPG's are a Nono.) Then I found out that people program for the Atari and then I definitely got hooked.
  3. I've talked to a few people about my game, most don't get it without some basic instructions but I've heard from people that they like it once they get it. It's a very nerdy specialized game that was never really meant to go out to the masses. (Not that I'm complaining!) My 2nd game is a lot simpler though.
  4. I think that my game is very difficult without a manual yes, but for this reason I am setting up a webpage with information. Hopefully that will help.
  5. Are you planning on putting them on your site or publishing a batari basic book? I wouldn't mind helping with the second
  6. Very cool! Maybe you could also make a list that shows all of them sorted on release date? A lot of the years are mostly empty. Also you seem to be missing klax. (The only reason I know is because I remember that being the last ever game released for the system. (Officially ofc)) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klax_(video_game)
  7. I'm excited about this now If you read this in time, could you rename astronomer 1.0 to Astronomer?
  8. On a positive note. I sent a contract suggestion and Chris agreed to it. So for me the problem is solved! Maybe you can send something similar to the rest and still publish it with games? "I, [name], the author hereby give Hyperkin Inc. the right to use my game called ‘Astronomer’ on their Retron 77 console in exchange for 0$. Hyperkin may use it as they wish for this console and this right may not be retracted in any way. However, this does not prevent the author of publishing, selling and distributing the game in any way. Signature Author Signature Hyperkin"
  9. Got a new email from Chris. He basically says the same and asks me to make my own contract. I still think it's strange that the issue is dropped at the developers side. "Thats fine the game is yours to do as you please. This is drafted contracted from our lawyers if you have your own contract that you would feel more comfortable with please send it my way for signature ? Best, Chris"
  10. Terrible contract aside, I think it would be great to have them distribute games on their console(s?). Especially since they will reach many people outside of this community. Just like the flashback consoles. So when this get's ironed out, I think that all will be good again. And to anyone doubting the authenticity of the email, I can forward it if you want or send a screenshot. This was the message BTW, just to show that it was not clear that the contract was negotiable. @Hyperkin: I hope that we can still do business. No ill intent from my side.
  11. I really don't mind licensing them the game for free giving them the right to pack it onto the console, etc. Ofc getting something back would be nice, like a discount on the console for example. But none of us are doing this for the money (I think), so I can live with giving it for free. But I really want to keep my own copyright, especially since I am going to sell physical copies via Packrat and want to keep the ROM available for free on here and my site.
  12. So to those who don't follow the retron77 thread, Hyperkin asked game developers if they wanted their game on the Retron77. This seemed great to me, as its going to be very good exposure. However, the contract seems very demanding to me and it feels like I would lose all rights to make carts, offer it online, etc. if I sign this. Is this similar to the flashback contracts? It really sounds like a no-no Contract in attachement. Thanks! R77 Software License Agreement.pdf
  13. So i've been wondering about this for a while. Since the erotic mystique games were sold via mail order and were clearly 18+, were they erotic in any way? If you look at a game like x-man there are quite some ''nudes" in there. So did that work for people? I know that it was in the time before internet where ladies fashion magazines would 'do the trick'. So just curious. although I can understand if people are reluctant to tell about their alone time with best em and eat em.

    The Stacks

Is this still a thing? With the movie out it would probably sell really well now.
  15. I've uploaded V1 of the game It is officially done now! Download in main post
  16. Oh so its negligible? I might have imagined the difference then.
  17. I recently discovered that Ataris do work on new TV's. So that does remove a lot of reasons for me to have the retron one. Although HDMI still sounds nice.
  18. Is there a definitive number on what the speed difference is between PAL and NTSC games? I know that NES games have it, but I can't find a number for the 2600. But my PAL version game does seem slower.
  19. Yes this was it! Can you use that board as an ordinary 4k one?
  20. Great thanks! I was asking because I remember buying a realsports game that had 2 chips on it. But I forgot which one that was.
