Does anyone make new Atari 8-bit cartridge shells?
toddtmw replied to Albert's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
It’s pretty incredible how much stronger 3-D printed things are along the X and Y axes compared to Z. -

Have you considered printing sideways with supports to make the tabs and screw holes stronger? -
A friend had the dual Amdek 3" drive. That was pretty impressive BITD. Those seem to be pretty rare. I've only ever seen one on eBay.

Yep. Me too. Probably my first program. Checkbook balancer? Pass. Bubble sort? Yeah maybe someday, but not now. Seagull over the ocean with sounds? Count me in! Cool. It worked. Now I need to save it. Memorex tape and 410 to the rescue!

I have a cupbord full of pills like that too. Can never find what you are looking for....

Out of curiosity, what happens if you plug a monitor plug into a Midi port, or a Midi cable into the monitor port? Is there any theoretical electrical danger there?

Sounds like Sears and Best Electronics merged?

Pron (such that it was at the time...) demos... Gigantic Jerry.

My first thought was for people using translators to read this. Wondered how well it would translate.

@flashjazzcat How about $12 in unmarked bills? No, seriously. What would it take to entice you to lend your expertise here? Thank you!!! -
So, it's not just me?

So, how far has everyone gone recreating your collection from BITD? (Or, if you still have everything, I'd love to hear about that too...) I'll start. I originally got an Atari 800 with three cased 16K ram boards and an Atari 410 tape drive. I had that hooked to a quasar 19 inch(ish) color television. (Which is what I had my 2600 attached to...) Then, I got a Rana 1000 disk drive and a Panasonic KX-P1091 hooked to an APE Face printer adapter. (Or something similar to an APE Face...) Then, I got an Indus GT (I deliverd a lot of newspapers to get this far...) Then I got a job working at a veterinary clinic and got a 130XE. Somewhere in there, I got an OkiMate 10 printer. A friend and I built a large switch (it was round and had lots of contacts and we mounted it in a vegetable can we got out of the trash) so that I could swing the drives and printers from the 800 to the 130XE. That solved that pesky translator disk issue... I do not recall how I was switching the video outputs between the two computers...And I got an Amdek amber monitor. All of that was sold, given away or trashed. Today, I have reaquired all of that except for the SIO switch... along with waaay more than I thought I would ever be able to justify buying. Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced switch with enough contacts to switch all the SIO connectors? I actually have 2 of each printer. I have 3 or 4 800's, but only one has the cased ram cards. I have numerous 1050's, some work, some don't. an Indus, a Rana, many many 800XLs, but only one 130XE. BITD, I used to have it all set up with a brown, burlap-covered wooden platform that held the TV (and then monitor) that I built myself. I have not recreated that ... yet.

Although, this site makes me think it might work as a ILI9341. https://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=387618.0

The only ones I think it works with are: hx8347g hx8347i ili9329 ili9340 ili9341 You could try it, but if you did not receive what you ordered, I'd return it and ask them to send you the correct item.

Plus one on this. That board is the sonic screwdriver for Atari.

Who wrote/maintains the on-screen menu? Would it be possible to add that support? -
This is really cool. I’m glad @19Echo sent these disks.

Hi. @19Echo sent me a bunch of disks for evaluation and dumping. I'm still going through them but one set caught my eye. It is a set of a whole lot of PAPIE (Professional Atari Programmer's Exchange) disks. I loaded up the first one and it looks like Antic had programmers who were REQUIRED to submit something every month. I'm assuming these disks are the collection of that. There are 17 double-sided diskettes. I used Happy Sector Copier to copy most of them. Some of them were labelled on the disk as having sector or track issues so any disk that got any errors, I kryofluxed and converted to .atr. Those are marked with a (K). Except one, that only had one error and completed, I left that one and then labelled the one with the same name with (Kryoflux). Anyway, even thought they are not original and some of them are on Atarimania, I thought I would share them here for others to look at. Big thanks to @19Echo for sending me these disks. Okay. Thanks. Also, this thread has a lot of INDUS rom images listed. The one from post 67 has these: indus14.rom INDUS12.rom INDUSunk.rom The latest @MrMartian one is: Indus_gt_12.bin What is the "best" ROM to go with if I have the 64K upgrade card? Thank you all for your help!
