  1. I realize that on a real computer, there is no "Are you sure" when you power off and hit reset. And I agree that it would get annoying for those options. But, I'm really talking about things people do less often, like changing the CPU. Most normal people would understand that you cannot change the CPU or the type of machine without hard-resetting the machine, but it is easy to forget that and possibly lose data unintentionally. But, I understand I am only one person...
  2. Retropie hooked up to a 50" TV with an Xarcade tankstick gets a lot of oohs and aaahs.
  3. Actually, I just powered up my Lynx and it is not working well. I need to figure out if I want to get another Lynx. Until then, please do not put me on the list. Thank you.
  4. I have an old Atari Lynx 1. (Duh, they are all old, aren't they?) Anyway, I haven't played it in a while and I got it out tonight and the display is much worse than I remember it. And there is a vertical line on the display. Has anyone ever seen this? Any chance it is an easy fix? It's a little hard to see it in the attached picture, but it runs right down the middle of the surfer. Thanks. -Todd
  5. I must've had the 130xe with the bad keyboard. When I went from 800 to 130XE I was like: WTH? I bought those little keyboard cups, but I think only for my ST, not my 130XE. (I really didn't end up keeping my 130XE that long because I went to 1040ST.)
  6. Actually, I was wondering if the trackball on the tankstick could be used on an emulator with these games. It does connect via USB, but it looks like a mouse. Thanks.
  7. Will these work with the track ball in the Xarcade Tank stick? (Or can they be made to?) Thank you.
  8. I disagree. It got me back into emulation in a big way. I'm actually doing more emulation on my computer because of what I can do on Retropie.
  9. Does anyone know how to configure a second joystick for Stella? I have a tankstick and only one joystick works. I do not see a way to bring up a menu while stella is running to configure the second stick. Thanks.
  10. I understand that you get what you pay for, but as I was really looking for something more casual, what is the best free emulator? Thanks.
  11. How did it copy a disk so fast?
  12. Is it too late to order one? Thanks.
  13. Is this going to be released as a cartridge or as an image suitable for playing on an emulator?
  14. Good to know news of the death of the CRT has been greatly exaggerated.
  15. The one that got me was changing the CPU speed. I was working on a basic program. It was a little slow, I was like, I'll just bump the CPU speed up a little. And it cold reset the Atari. It makes sense that changing the CPU would require a reset but a warning would be nice.
  16. I have been really enjoying the Atari emulators. I didn't have an Apple II, but a lot of friends did and we had them at school. What is everyone's favorite Apple IIe emulator. Bonus points if it works on Mac. Thanks!
  17. I remember a friend of mine in high school had an Apple IIe with 2 disk drives. He had a utility that would copy an entire disk in seconds. I mean, it was crazy fast like less than 10 seconds. Does anyone remember this? I never knew how it could do that so fast.
  18. Yeah, I sometimes create a favoites folder, depending on how many games there are.
  19. I sent you a PM on this, but I think it would be helpful to add an "Are you sure" dialog for anything that would cause the emulated Atari to reset to make sure people don't lose anything they are working on.
  20. If you are looking to buy one, it seems the cheapest out there is the 600XL. Those only came with 16KB of RAM, but some of them, it looks like the RAM was socketed, so they could be upgraded (If you can find the right chips and aren't afraid to do a little soldering. The best main-stream (off the shelf) model to look for (in my opinion) is the 130XE. The 128KB of RAM that it came with would allow it to do more. The sweet spot from a price/capability standpoint (again, my opinion) is the 65XE. 64K was pretty much the max most games were held to and it seems like they are usually a little cheaper than the 800XL and 1200XL machines.
  21. Sorry, I saw the thread and read a little bit of it and jumped to the end to ask my question. These threads get so long, it's hard to get caught up when you come into them late.
  22. Wasn't there a graphical interface for the 8-bit Ataris back in the 80's?
  23. Another great loading screen! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
