  1. I do not have real hardware to test it on, but it works in Altirra, which is as close to real as I've seen in an emulator. I'm sure it is an emulator problem, but, I'm thinking that maybe I did something unusual with my custom character set and maybe if I did it differently, it would work on other emulators. Thanks.
  2. Hmmm. This seems much better than my approach, which was to install Windows 10 in a VMWare emulator to run Altirra. Thanks!
  3. Hi. I developed an Atari BASIC program using Altirra that uses redefined characters. It plays great on Altirra, but when I try to run it on my RetroPie, none of the redefined characters show up. The characters that have not been redefined show up fine. The program is using Graphics 1+16. Also, when I compile it using the Datasoft BASIC compiler, I get the same issue. Regular characters show up fine, but redefined characters are just not there. Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas on a workaround? Thank you. -Todd
  4. Well, I think I figured it out playing around. I used this: 13 B560=PEEK(560) 14 FOR L=0 TO 100 15 POKE 560,B560+5 16 POKE 560,B560-5 17 NEXT L 18 POKE 560,B560 Thanks
  5. @stephen, Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, it looks like your sample code at the bottom is the same as the sample code at the top. The actual shaking code appears to be missing. Thank you.
  6. Thanks. Any chance you can point me to an example? (Even an old type and run program from Antic that did it...) Thanks!
  7. Hi. I am trying to recreate a program that I wrote 30+ years ago in Atari Basic. I necer got to the point of hooking up a floppy drive to a modern computer and a few years ago, I was moving and gave away all my Atari stuff including the disks. Anyway, one effect I remember doing, but cannot remember how (I probably stole it from another game in one of my Antic magazines) was shaking the screen. Basically, when the avatar you are controlling is caught by the bad guy, I had an effect that would viloently shake the screen. I think it was done by poking somewhere to make the Atari display the screen differently, but it might also have been an assembler routine. Does anyone know how to do this, and if so, could you please share some code? Than you. -Todd

    New (old) Disk Lot

Hi. I got some disks when I bought another auction and wanted to know if there was interest in trying to image any of these. I haven't even tried to put them in a drive yet. Many of them did not come with sleeves, so I do not know what shape the media is in. I haven't really imaged anything for posterity yet. Not sure if I can justify the epense of buying the hardware to ATX these. Would ATR's be enough? Of the disks I got, these do not appear to be in Farb's archive.
