I keep forgetting to double-check about the music in Juno First.  I plan to test the rest of my games on the v1.1 beta in the next day or two.  I'll tackle it then.

The music plays for me (on title screen). It kinda slows down and sounds wrong, but it's been a long time since I played it on my real atari so.. not sure. I know the dithering on title screen is screwed up and needs that CRT filter fix thing I saw on here.

    Gameplay is solid tho.

I know I've seen a reference in this thread to Champ Games not working in general, but specifically I just tested Champ's "Wizard of Wor" and "Elevator Agent" with the Beta. Both just yielded bright flickering horizontal striped bars. Yes, they both work on my 7800.

Yeah all Melody board games don't work. If they had to use an ARM processor to make it happen, it won't work on 2600+ right now.

Looks like your TV is having trouble displaying moments when the sprites are flickering.

I know this is a common issue, but it's not that. There's a problem with the paddle behavior. You can tell because on Atari 50 it behaves properly (although no paddles there)

Some games with paddles work better. A few don't and Super Breakout is one.

My TV is always in the correct Game mode on both.

Could just be dirty contacts. Get some 99% isopropyl alcohol and qtips. Give the contacts a good scrub and try again.

It does fix a lot of carts, but some of the activision carts remain problematic. My Pitfall boots up more often than not now, but my Megamania is still finicky even after multiple cleanings.

Regardless, I have a centipede 7800 with no issues, so normal carts that are clean do work on that

I can’t get the white label megamania to load so think I may need to clean it- however that doesn’t have the plastic cover. I’m just thinking ahead for other carts. Thanks for the reply though.

Activision carts are also more problematic than others. Like way more.

It's funny you should mention Gyrus, I was looking at it eBay today. Hoping to have it at a reasonable price at some point. Would be nice to own just for that music!

It has great gameplay. Esp with the music. Yeah it may look kinda "bad" but it's a solid and enjoyable 2600 cart, making the usual allowances for this machine.

Going thru the 128 bytes of RAM solar system is just cool.

And it's not a cart that "cheats" by having an ARM processor on board.

I think I'll need to check my carts as I'll no doubt miss one or two, but off the top off my head some candidates I have are:

    Demon Attack

    Phoenix

    Spider Fighter

    Megamania

    Turmoil

    Galaxian

    Stargunner

    Gorf

    Any other notable games?

Oh yeah. Gotta have gyruss. Pretty rare tho

Looking forward to 7800 Blockem Sockem.

Yep. I was surprised to see/hear it running YM with Pac-Man Collection 40th Anniversary Edition.

I'm looking for this cart (Pac Man collection, the one that works on 2600+) if anyone wants to sell me one

  9. You can make a fantastic, great TV show, and there will still be 10-100 youtube "influencer" channels chasing.... (not sure what. clout ? money ? no cap as the kids say) by making negative videos. This was NOT a thing 10 years ago and is just another sad part of our society. So now people's opinons on youtube I trust much less as a result.

This is also the same for new products, anything that gets attention, every tom, dick and harry wants to get up and act like they're an expert, telling you their opinion because they have a camera and an editor. It's whatever.

Also, the spreadsheet is open to the public to update.  I can add your results for Double Dragon if you want, though.  I just need to know which firmware and what region.

Oh, my bad. for some reason I thought I couldn't edit it. Sure, I think it's been confirmed also by a few others. I'm hopeful we can get it working in a new update, as while it's not a great game, it is a classic and I would like to play it lol

  11. Juno First has issues with it's Title Screen and Music speed on Title Screen. That should be added to the notes.

Double Dragon 7800 (activision, white label) can be added with "Fail". Boots to black screen atm.

I personally think you'd get a lot better results if you just opened this up for the public (i.e., us)  to update.

  12. It's definately a PAL cart then.

1.) You need to clean if It's failing with game load failed text after a short time trying to load.

2.) if games load for a while and then go to black screen, likely incompatible (currently)

3.) PAL games have more issues on 1.0

Thanks!  Appreciate it. Gonna give Atari a few days to respond, but will definitely reach out if they don’t.

Just go with Ben. He is Atari when it comes to this.

    Sucks about your pin.
