Like what I see! Gonna play the beta tonight, I feel challenged already.

Well.. somehow I can't make an image using that rawwrite util. Might be the age of the disk, don't know. however, I did copy the contents to a zip. files read ok, and since it's no bootable disk or anything special, for usage a disk image isn't necessary, So if anyone's interested, take a look at the files.. might be interesting for someone. By the look of it, a compiler + batchfile, some source programs, a terminal emulation program example, update program.. anyways.

Selecting some stuff to sell off I stumbled on this floppy I got this some years back from a guy working as a dev for the Portfolio.. Anyone got some info about this? or knows what this does? Worth putting on eBay?

I'm selling some Jaguar stuff and as it's not my expertise, am not certain for the price to list these. - Zero 5 cart + manual - Space war 2000 work in progress cart + instructions. Could someone enlighten me please?

Diablo 3 I've spent so much time on this game last year, it's not funny. In the end, it was hardcore what kept me going. Once I finished inferno (hardest diff) with multiple chars, I eventually got bored as there was nothing left to do than grinding without goal or purpose left.. Then, I could, finally, let go.

Source for Sega/Atari/commodore 9 pin d-sub controller cables

Thanks, yes, those are near perfect for my use, the best thing probably being some NOS joystick cables with the, I'm not sure what it's called in English, the part which relieves strain on the cable. But I can find another solution for that. I'll get in touch with you via PM to get a quote. That is correct. The 'challlenge' is with the connector. As to fit a, let's say, genesis or commodore standard dsub 9, you'd have to cut of two corners of the male connector to make it fit the female controller port on the Vectrex, which is possible because they are made of rubber. All (serial) or modern dsub 9 pin connectors have a metal collar, which makes that impossible. Thanks for thinking with me however -
I've been off the retro gaming scene for some time but now I'm looking into doing another project, focussed on arcade controllers / cabs for the Vectrex. I've made a proto called the Veccab quite some years back which got a lot of interest, and now I'm considering building a small series of these and/or some simpler arcade controller derivate. Does anyone know a good source (preferably Europe but other suggestions are welcome) where I can get (wholesale) loose controller cables ? (The cable connecting the joystick to the console)

Just want to share my email to Kristof Tuts, programmer of Vector Pilot

The best arcade game to date ever written for the Vectrex by Alex Herbert. Period. On the original Protector cartridge, there is also a bonus game, Spike goes down, which later was the inspiration for his first game on the 2600, 'man goes down' http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/53689-my-1st-atari-2600-game-man-goes-down/ I really hope Alex will start writing for the Vectrex again. He is a brilliant programmer.

Did you guys see the announcement today ? I'm so afraid this guy is in over his head.. This is the classical I-buy-me-some-time announcement, which will only increase the pressure on himself to put out updates to please his paying registered users. Knowing, he's way busy putting together a company and dealing with the very time consuming attention caused by the overwelming success. Also I hope he'll preserve the balance in the game and doesn't lose sight of one of it's biggest strengths: simplicity/playability in a complex, random and consistently generated world world. Don't get me wrong, I hope he keeps his head together, but boy, once you start making promises over a timeline you cannot oversee, you really need to be in control. All the luck to Notch

I've been playing pretty much continuously since my last post.. This is pure crack you might wanna check out the vids from this guy, recording his adventure from the beginning Very very entertaining and fun! (I'm playing single player). One thing, I really hope the-millionaire within a year- dev doesn't get overly enthousiastic adding features for the beta and final.. It might just destroy the great power it has: it's simplicity at it's best in a complex world. best money I've spent on a game in a long time.

Just played around with the free version, read some of the maker's blog en watched some vids.. And one totally sold it to me so I just made a payment so I can play thelatest version. Amazingly well done fanmade trailer!

When the screen keeps very dim, that might be a capacitator problem.. http://girasoli.org/arcade/?p=331 I've never tried to replace caps myself, but please do heed all the warnings about high voltage when opening up the Vectrex.
