Don't ask me how, I mean...

What amazing football matches I played with my brother in the 80's... He also was able to manage 3-4 players at the same time...

Neat! I guess the issue is just that pressing 11 buttons at once is not easy by hand. I should have used a small piece of wood I guess :D

The football game use the keypad to control the players on screen.

That is, you hold the button and move the player (on a line) and each of the 11 players can be moved individually.

It's probably the only non-multiplayer real-time football game to allow you to do that :D

I remember trying to move all 11 players and it kinda worked, tho obviously pressing 11 buttons at the same time wasn't easy so I'm not sure if the console can or can't poll 11 buttons presses.

Yes, console can poll 11 button presses at the same time.

  4. Other games that use full keypad, along with Soccer, are Maths 1 & 2, Chess 1 & 2, Musical Games, Golf, Hyperspace, Draughts, Inteligentz 3/Mastermind and Blackjack.

And, for sure, the Hobby Module (you need to use the 2 keypads to have all 16 hexadecimal numbers and some input commands)

There are some games that uses a few keys rather than "fire" ones like Metropolis/Hangman, Casino and Solitaire.

I agree that Soccer/Football is really funny. If you learn how to control some players at the same time you can make an attack all together passing the ball between them in vertical.

  5. Finally I got some update by email:

    Dear customers,

I am aware that you are eagerly waiting for the pre-ordered game "Hera Primera" for your Vectrex. And I am very sorry for that. I am also extremely dissatisfied with the delay.
The game is poly.play's first Vectrex release and I would like to deliver the same quality standard as the releases for other systems.

Unfortunately, there is a problem with this claim: The production of the overlay doesn't work out as it should. After the first printing company went bankrupt and the second one cancelled the order after some time, I found a small screen printing company in Leipzig/Germany that took on the project because they also find the topic exciting. Unfortunately, it turned out that the already purchased PETG material seems to be unsuitable. The print keeps throwing bubbles (see attached photo). Trials with different colors and chemical pre-cleaning have brought nothing. We now assume that we will not be able to implement it with this.

New material samples have been ordered and further tests will start. But perhaps someone has experience with the subject and could give us tips on which material or colors are more suitable and even knows a source of supply. I would be pleased about feedback.

There were requests if I could send the games without overlay. Unfortunately I would not like to do that, because I would like to send a complete product and also serve all customers at the same time. To show that everything is not vaporware, please find attached photos of the already finished modules, boxes and instructions.

I apologize very much for the long waiting time. Also for the fact that I could not always respond to all requests in a timely manner. Since I do everything from production to the webshop to shipping and accounting on my own, I unfortunately often lack the time to take care of social media. And since I became a father again three weeks ago, there has been even less time since then. I ask for your understanding.

Finally, I would like to thank you for making the realization of this project possible with your pre-order!

However, if you do not want to wait any longer, please contact me. Then I will cancel the order and arrange a refund.

    Best reagrds, Sebastian Bach

I asked Poly Play about it last month when I noticed on the website it had changed from pre-order to 'available immediately'. Apparently there has been some problems getting overlays printed but it is being worked on.

    Thanks for advising

  7. Hello Derek

I will try to get some of the info requested.

By the way, I was looking for some info about the DazRAM module #27 for the Voltmace Database and I found this in a scanned page of the ZX Computing magazine here (page 58):

    retro8bitcomputers.co.uk/Content/downloads/magazines/ZXcomputing/ZXComputing_Jun-Jul_1983.pdf

    and here: www.retro8bitcomputers.co.uk/Content/downloads/magazines/ZXcomputing/ZXComputing_Oct-Nov_1983.pdf

    on page 90:

Do you know anything about this tool for the ZX81? It seems amazing!

In your page https://sig2650.wordpress.com/about/it seems you were working on it.
