Seeing the topic title I can't help but think "why male models"?

And going Fat will also give you the option of using hard drives and SSDs if you want to go that route.

You know, a solution to this is to make a new 5200 joypad but make it based off of the Jaguar joypad. Somebody has already found a way to use the current style of analog stick that today's game consoles use so replace the D-pad with that and switch out the Jaguar keypad with the 5200's. Problem solved. Oh, and make a digital D-pad and D-stick version for those who want to go the digital route. I mean, there are already Pro Controller repros - why not alter it for the 5200. I think it would do very well.

If it is inexpensive but has a lot of power then I would think that people would buy it but I think a lot of them would end up getting modded in some way to make it into a more traditional looking console. However, it has been pointed out that the chicken warmer concept is a good way of dealing with the excess heat - perhaps using it for more that just chicken, like popcorn (also already suggested). If modded right you could use it for scented wax and at least make your work area smell nice.

I'm a little surprised that no one has managed to figure out a way to do import games with FMCB by now. Or maybe it isn't possible.

It has been years since I played the softmod scene but you might want to look into that and see if there is a softmod (via Free McBoot or other alternatives) that will allow for this. Will save you (or someone else) from opening up the unit and possibly blowing it up.

I have a 1k and a 3k, the 3 is lighter, and slightly thinner, it also has a video out port so you can get various video cables to attach it to tv. Keep in mind, on tv it has a post card border since the system is low resolution. The 1k is my workhorse though, taking a larger battery gives it a longer life, but as batteries are all old now, this may be a moot point.
Over all, I liked it, when you stick to "made for it" games, but many console games made it that just didn't work due to go few controls. It was hit and miss on consoles, gta was imo great, but that's about all the consoles I liked on it.
There's a special battery cover that will allow you to use the 1000 battery in a 3000. That's what I have and it works great. BTW, when I have my PSP in storage I always take the battery out.

MicroSoft is not going to remove this. According to another video by MVG MS realized that most of those who wanted to jailbreak their Xboxes wanted to do so for emulator use. So they decided to allow you to use Developer Mode (for a one time $20 fee) so you can do so without modding the system. By giving this group one of the major things they want MS is helping to control the modding scene by limiting the number of those wanting to do so. The system will eventually be jailbroken but there will be fewer people to take advantage of it (unless the process is so simple that anybody can do it).

A revision to that should be a lighter colored background with the logo and data (as mentioned earlier) but the background should be made of thin plastic with screw posts added to it so you can actually screw the motherboard down and also have the screws themselves become part of the artwork.

Clean it up and put in a frame - make it art. I've seen it done with controllers and cartridges. Why not with motherboards? Include the logo and some data with it.

It's been awhile since I've done this but I think you need to format the drive with WinHiip first before it can be used. Also, are you using HDLoader or Open PS2 Loader?
-
There's a code inside T2K that when activated will allow you to use rotary encoders for the game. You hook up the encoder to the left and right directions of the D-Pad to allow for the quadrature inputs. The game is pretty amazing with the right encoder setup.

I don't think it would work since the game was not programmed with a mouse in mind.

Uses it, or Would benefit from it? Please clarify in your posts!
I get in this case it would be benefit....lol. I don't think any original retail release games had mouse capability.
Would definitely benefit from it. Both the Amiga and PC versions use a mouse and that is way better control for that game than the joypad. The Jag version obviously doesn't support a mouse but if you're talking about a mouse patch for certain games then this one should be near the top of the list.

Forgot about the cable part. Although I wonder how much it would cost to make one of those with the molded end.

Why donor controllers? Do they still make the chips that go inside the controllers? If so you can probably make your own boards that would make it easier to build custom controllers around. Just my two cents.

If the PS2 Classics on PS4 deal is anything to go by I think Sony's plan is to make you pay for all the old stuff again even though you may still have the old discs. I'll be surprised if they do the way MicroSoft is doing it with the Xbox One.

Winhiip! That was it. I seem to recall it being easy enough to use, but hooking up a scsi hard drive to a modern computer can be a pain .
You mean IDE since that is what the Network Adapter uses. There are also off-brand versions with SATA now which will make it easier to use SSDs and such.
-
The program you're looking for is Winhiip and I highly recommend that you format the drive and install games with it since the DVD-ROM drive on the PS2 is slow and crappy which tends to result in botched installs. As for playing off the hard drive I recommend Open PS2 Loader which is way superior than HDLoader.

I am happy to announce that we got our Godzilla panel for PAX South 2020 and it will be held in the Cactus Theater which is twice as large as the one we were in before. Should be fun.
