I don't know where tonight went, but Trackmania is basically weaponized time-trial addiction.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Saw it today.
My expectations were set for the mediocre-type.
Without going into stuff that would make for spoilers, I feel it had an awesome intro (first 20-30 minutes), then succumbed to generic swashbuckling-type action.
Action lacked true tension and feeling of danger.
The mysterious parts switched from lacking a audio-visual presentation that made it feel mysterious - immerse the viewer in atmosphere of mystery -, to coming off as so fantastical as to be more Marvel/Matrix etc, as to breaking with the Indiana Jones franchise whose legacy stems from the excitement of dangers of old-fashioned/Victorian - to - early 20th century exploration and discovery with the underlying wonder: is it truth to ancient reports, powers beyond modernistic reductionism? It feels like either too generic, lacking suspense and mystery, to being just too fantastical for me.
At least I was satisfied with (most of) the emotional parts regarding the conclusions to Indy’s relationships with other characters.
As to show-downs and epic shocks, it was sorely lacking, even though the main bad-guy was well-acted.
Had they worked more on getting not only the photography and costumes etc, being Spielberg-like, but actually worked on creating true tension, feeling of danger, epic questions, not spared the audience for classic Indy-shocks, and had more witty, edgy humour in the action, - which is, if the entire movie, of just the last 30 minutes had been as well-made as the first, this could have a massive, epic finale.
As it is now, for me, some touching moments, lots of good photography and backdrops, a fair amount of potential, some cool action, but it does not make it to be the epic closing that Raiders, Temple and Last Crusade deserves.
7/10

I can't stand it when people celebrate someone getting banned from here like rjchamp3 when Albert said congrations. I makes me sad. I politcal and reglious discussions don't bother me execpt flamewars. Not much bothers me anyone after all the pain and suffering I have been through my whole life. I am scared I might get banned someday.

Congratulations @bloodreptile , I see that you are 105 today. Let's see, if you got into Atari in the 1970's, you would have been in your late 60's. Not something I would expect a retired person to get into, but who am I to judge.

So does everyone else eat too much and fall asleep watching TV? Last night I woke up and I had turned on Netflix, (I fell asleep watching Disney +), and I was watching a movie called The Platform. I don't remember selecting it at all! I started it over this morning, so I could see what I'd "seen"...

I'm about to try creamed corn for the first time! Will post back about my opinion on it!

TIL that a single spaghetti noodle is called a Spaghetto. In Italian, an “i” at the end is plural, and “o” is singular. This goes for other italian dishes too: panino, raviolo, fettucino, gnocco, etc.

Just watched the F1 virtual GP. I don't follow many gaming YouTubers but I do follow Jimmy Broadbent. From last on the grid after technical issues to 4th. We have our virtual Nigel Mansell.

Wife's family waiting for an ambulance down in Cardiff. Mother-in-law showing symptoms of Covid-19. Having severe breathing difficulties. Seems to be a bit of a hotbed down there. Friend's daughter tested positive a few days ago.
