It's understandable that production costs fluctuate. It's also sensible that his original ranges before the system had actually been developed would be subject to change. But when he goes on to accuse others of lying and spreading misinformation just to avoid admitting he made even one innocuous error, that's what people take offense to.
PRGE 2018: $149-179 is the price point that we're going for... So it will be somewhere in between there. We're hoping for $149 but this gives me a little bit of room. Because if we come up with something so cool, or some new technology hits in six months from now. And we've gotta get it in the system. And it's going to cost us $10 more to make. I don't want to not do that and say "oh gee I told those people a year ago it was going to be $149 or whatever." So we're giving ourselves a little room but I just wanted to tell people the price range that we're looking at. Under $200, way under $200.

Great game. Played it on the c64 and finished it after much button mashing ... but @roots.genoa is right. Will be a fail unfortunately. BUT I hope I'm wrong!

The Frogger Wiki makes some interesting reading for anyone who gives a f#&k.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frogger
"Sega/Gremlin agreed to pay Konami $3,500 per day for a 60-day licensing window. A prototype was playtested in a San Diego bar and was so successful that distributors agreed to resell the game based on the test alone."

If you are planning to sell eventually, let the new owner decide. If you destroy an artefact by making it look pretty to your eyes, you have literally done what I just wrote -- "destroyed it". The history and originality is gone. Originality is critical in collectables. Remember that old church painting where the grandma decided to "fix it" -- she totally destroyed any value it had (mind you, she gained huge notoriety for her town). Don't, under any circumstances, replace labels on rare items. Otherwise you might as well do stuff like this and think you're doing the right thing...
I dont see the problem ...

Tommy probably wants a trial because he thinks there'll be legions of fans lined up outside the court cheering his name and it be televised.
Yet the truth will actually be .....

ET gets picked on I'm sure because of the cost to acquire that license and equate that with the kids disappointed with the end result once they got the game. I still think ET is a great game...
I know we're flogging a dead ET horse .. but Yup. Remember picking up my 2600 vader in '82 with the parents. Came with the standard title games & ET. I smashed the hell out of ET. Yeh sure frustrated with the pits ... but loved the game at 10 years old. Nuff said I suppose. Perspective.

What will happen, will happen, when the time cones to pass. What is is the past is passed, and what the future holds is in the hands, of those, that have held the past.
Sounds like
confuciusNotsoWizewonathome has had a few too many tequilas at the bar .. and maybe a few "cones".

Also, to beat the certification horse some more, their engineers claimed they "would pass" the testing on their second go, but this means nothing because they would've had to actually get it tested a second time to pass. We know they didn't. Their word means nothing, simply because you cannot self-certify, and it doesn't pass until it's tested. Full stop. I don't care what they said.

There were some there, some in my old threads, and I repurposed some of them in this thread.
I think a chunk of them made it to www.amicogames.com too. Usually when looking for an old meme that's the first and easiest place to check.
Trawling through at least 1000 pages on the the back-up link and the Amico Tumblr may be a detterant. He's not worth it.

@82-T/A It's long, but read the archive of Tommy Tallarico's original Amico thread here at Atari Age. It's been made non-public here at AA and you have to go to offsite to find a backup of most of it. You be surprised at the behavoirs of TT and supporters of the Amico thread. As you read TT's post, remember this is being marketed as a "family friendly" console targeted at mothers and young families to play with their kids. Link: https://amicoage.neocities.org There are more sites that provide a better synopsis of what occurred
I used to spend a lot of time on the Jaguar forum and remember you as a regular there was did not troll.

Was this the thread we were throwing out some ideas and some amusing retort for Amico Footbath Family Games? Some of them were hilarious! If so, love to see them again.

The C64 (128d to be exact) was my next gaming machine after the 2600 ... and I smashed it. It was just nice to read Zapp64 for all the reviews, up and coming games, peek and poke cheat codes etc. Plus the layout was full of colorfull pictures and screen grabs. Just drew you in. Plus you would get cassette tapes and later floppy discs with demo games attached to the front of the magazine.
