Agree with Jin. Concave like the original. That color looks good on that Lorenzo as well. Sanwa do a snap-in SDM-20 button in various colors, including red. 20mm or just under under 13/16" overall width I believe.

[WTB: Atari2600 Telegames 'Frogs and Flies' (PAL) loose cart]

As the title says:

 

Wanting to buy a loose cart of the Atari 2600, Silver labelled 'Telegames' PAL version of, 'Frogs and Flies'.

 

Also, you would need to be happy and willing to send it down to the bottom of the globe. Perth, Western AUSTRALIA.

Good mate recently dragged out his multiple 2600s, after I jumped back into this lovely old girl Started to set 'em up, with his 6 year old son 'Sebastian' by his side. Sends me a text ... and I quote ...

 

"Tryin to set up the atari for seb to check out. Not happening... tryin to tune it in and seb says 'I'm pretty sure it only works in the olden days Dad' lol

I'm trying to sift through my amber-liquid damaged brain cells, for my best Atari visual memories back when .. and not my current age-tainted Top 20 games

 

So my list in no particular order ... as a 11-12 year old circa '83-'84

 

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (Clear memories of smashing this until I finished it .. including the pain-in-the-ass pits!)

Superman (Likewise ... smashed this until I finished it)

Fishing Derby (Brother vs Brother fests)

Space Invaders (Marathon memories)

Missile Command (Marathon memories)

Asteroids (Marathon memories)

H.E.R.O. (Mates cart. Was in awe of the complexity)

Asterix (General memories of smashing this)

Bermuda (Didn't have River Raid .. so this was my equivalent go-to)

Star Wars: ESB (Mates cart. Loved it. )

Only 3-odd weeks back into my beloved Atari 2600, after pretty much 20 years in the shed ... so obviously acting like a 10 year old (@44 years old) spending spondoolies As I'm a player ... loose carts are sweet for me. Being an Aussie, everything's PAL.

 

Happy 2day . Loose not-so-common 'Exoset Missile' from John Sands .. Loose standard 'NightRider' .. and smiling over a PAL 'Starpath Supercharger'

All for $30aus .. or approx $23usd. All work. Tested the Supercharger via my old 'Creative Zen' mp3 player. Worked 1st pop!! God bless old tech!!

[Forgotten & Found - 'Barnstorming' Activision Patch photo]

Only just picked up a copy of Barnstorming last week. Gave it a bash last night after work. Wow! My 45 year old yeast damaged brain still remembered my Game 1 pattern I used back when..... for about the first 5 or 6 Barns .. and pretty much immediately! Also pulled a near flat 33sec eventually. My reunion with this old lady just keeps gets better!

New to the site/forum, hence just starting to poke my ugly head up outta the old Atari sand I thought this little story would be a good ice-breaker.

 

I cannot pin down the exact year, however I'm estimating about 20 years ago. I visited the oldies house, and for what ever reason was rummaging through some of my old things. I stumbled on my first, early 80s, Kodak 'Instamatic' Camera. To my surprise, it still had duel canister kodak film inside. It goes without saying, I promptly had the film processed. I recall the processing place stated a number of the photos were cactus, however they were able to retrieve 8 or 9 shots. All had a purple hue, with varying levels of clarity. However, 1 photo stood out straight away. A purple hue colored, hazy photo of a CRT TV, showing what appears to be Atari's 'Barnstorming'.

 

I'm guessing I was between 10 and 12 years old. I was smashing Atari's 'Barnstorming' .. and of course I wanted one of the hallowed Activision Patches. Eventually, I got myself down under the 33.3 seconds (Game 1) time. I took a photo of the screen, with the intent of mailing it off for my patch. And then .... I cannot recall anything after that. Years later, as aforementioned, I stumble on my old camera ... and the photo rears its head. Obviously, I never developed the film and never sent it in. The End. No Patch ... No juvenile Glory

 

These photos get put into the usual box of mixed photos, the Atari 2600 goes in the shed in its case and is pretty much forgotten. Until about 3 weeks ago. I stumble on the Atari, including my old MegaDrive and PS1 stuff, in boxes in the shed. Out they come. They all have a shower and have their teeth brushed ... and are now set-up in a 'retro' corner in my gamesroom. The Atari memories are flooding back .. and now I'm hooked again. Early days yet, but the Atari is getting a make-over and the carts are coming hard and strong .. with some stonking beverage driven 2600 sessions in sight

 

I then remember the photos I stumbled on those 20 years ago. I rifle through a few boxes of mixed photos, luckily all on one book shelf, and find the 9 photos. I scan them .. and only today ... give the 'Barnstorming' snapshot i very quick tweak on the PC. Although its blury, you can make out the 33.15 second time. I've attached a before and after shot for interest.

[Where Did You Get Your First Atari 2600 and What Type Was it?]

1982. Perth, Western Australia. 10 years old. I remember seeing the TV ads for the new Atari 2600 Vader for, I think, $199 and either 3 or 5 "Free" games. You chose them from a selection of games in store. I'm guessing the brother and I nagged the parents until they gave in!

 

Every Thursday Night we would venture into the Perth CBD to pick-up Mum from work, stuff our faces at the food-hall and walk around the shops. I recall the oldies taking us to the electrical store 'Retravision', near the Cnr of William St and Hay St, Perth.... where we snagged a Vader and the aforementioned "free" games. I recall picking Asteroids and Space Invaders but not sure of the others initially. Hooked up to a small Black and White spare TV, having to use the RF adapter with screw connections.

 

Amazing the things you recall. I couldn't even fricken remember if I let the cat out this morning before nicking off to work!!!
