Hey All, I am a part-time Atari 2600 cart/console collector. I have a 'Vader' and a 'Woodie' and a few carts and joysticks and live in Australia. Last year I was at my local secondhand shop when I come across a weird looking Atari 2600 cartridge, with a bizarre handle, called 'SPIDER MONSTER'. I purchased this cart for 50 cents and listed it on ebay hoping to get $3.00 for it. To my surprise the 'SPIDER MONSTER' cart sold for US$109. At the stage when I first got this cart I didn't own an Atari 2600 console so ever since I sold the cart I've been curious as to what sort of game 'SPIDER MONSTER' actually was. So could someone please tel lme if it was a shooter or a platformer or what? Also I am curious to know why this cart sold for such a high price? What made it so rare? I know the obvious answer is 'not many were manufactured', but why else? If any reason. Seeming this cart sold for such a high price I am now thinking of running an advertisement in my local paper asking for any Atari 2600 carts for sale. I live in Australia so are there many rare PAL carts I could most likely come across again or am I wasting my time as this 'SPIDER MONSTER' was a freak and very lucky purchase? Thanks in advance. Regards, Nubian.

Hey All, I'm also curious if DISTANT LANDS will ever be released. The idea of an RPG on the Lynx really appeals to me and I'm sure heaps of people and wondering what has happened to this game. Regards, Nubian.

Hey All, Fingers crossed. The best of luck to all who have submitted world records to Duranik. I only have one record. This cart will be rad and I hope everyone is excited as me about the competiton beinf drawn within the next couple of days. Regards, Nubian.

Hey All, I must say I am very dissapointed that the competition has been extended. I have been waiting a long time, like may others, for the results of this competition to be publshed. And now Duranik decides to change the date. C'mon, this is hardly fair! Nubian.

Here is a link to the 'Atari Cosmos' handheld auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=5948347258 The guy wan't around US$16000 for it. If I had the money... Regards, Daniel.

Hey All, When is this competition drawn again? I have one world record. Regards, Nubian.

Hey All, You technical wizards amaze me sometimes. All that know-how! It must take alot to make a game. I don't have the slightest idea about any of this stuff but it's still interesting to see guys making games for the good old Lynx. I am one Lynxer who really appreciates the work some people do to get a game up and going. Nubian.

This is off the show. I can't wait. Regards, Nubiandaze.

Hey All, Most of us are out to make a dollar at ebay so this guy is entitled to place 'RARE' on his Kung Food listing in my opinion. Not all Lynx enthusiasts are in the know when it comes to the rarity od some games so if someone purchases a game which is listed as 'Rare' and it is common that's really his naivity for not reaserching the games rarity in the first place. Some of us put in hours and hours searching the 'net for the value of certain games, so all that hardwork pays off for us when we know the rarity of a certain game. Those hours we spend searching the 'net for information on games serves to enlighten us to the value of games and offers a reward when we pay just the right amount for the game on ebay according to it's rarity. After all we videogame-heads need to make a buck out of ebay sometimes. That guy does have a cheek emailing you in my opinion.Who is he the game rarity police or something?! Regards, Nubian.

Hey All, I can spell COMPETITION. Sorry! Daniel.

Hey All, I'm a big fan of Vectrex homebrews and Herbert and Geofury are amongst the best going around at the moment. I'm also looking forward to getting the NEW Thrust game on cart. Just letting you know that apart from releasing his excellent I, CYBORG game some months ago, Geofury has now released totally NEW packaging for his 2003 Vectrex hit 'War of the Robots'. I was lucky enough to score WOTR cart 100/100 and the new packaging looks super cool with the cart. If you haven't ordered I, CYBORG yet, or you want the NEW WOTR packaging, goto Geofury's site. http://geovector.tripod.com/_sgg/f10000.htm P.S. Alex, do you have anymore Vec games in the works? Regards, Nubian.

Hey All, So is the consensus that this gg to Lynx convertor existed or didn't exist? Are some of you suggesting that someone,or two, haved joined Atariage and makiing a false profile and posting that they are sure this convertor exists? If they are then that's foul play. If we can see the scans of the mag then I'm satisfied. I collected C&VG since days of when it was competing with Zzap 64 and didn't hear anything along the way. A bit off the topic here, but do any of you UK Lynxers remember a mag from back in the 80's called Big K? It always had great front cover illustrations. Hope we get to the bottom of this gg/lynx convertor mystery. Regards, Nubian.

Hey Dude, I thought you knew I used a Mac because that link you sent me for the TOS was a link to the Apple website where I could downlaod it. I think it was anyhow. I haven't had a chance to downlaod it. Thanks. Nubian -

Hey All, Thanks for all your replies. Where would I be able to get Softload TOS 1.0 for my Atari 1020 Ste? Is it on disc? Also I'm interested in doing this 6" drop. Do I drop just hold the Atari ST off the ground to about 6" and then drop it. Or do I have to put it on it's side and drop it. Of course I'd rather get this Softload TOS 1.0. I'm not a computer expert or anything so is this programme easy to come by? News: Iv'e jus checked my Atari ST arsenal and can't find my Gauntlet discs. But I'm interested in the 6" drop as some of the other games don't load (I've got my collection beside me now) such as Holywood Poker, Prince, Hammerfist, Double Dragon, Neo Chrome First World, Pro Tennis Tour II and Rugby. I probably threw my Gauntelt discs out in disgust. I hear it's a really good game though. Regards, Danielk -

Hi All, I bought an Atari 1020 Ste from a thrift shop about 6 months ago. I tried oading some games but mostly they wouldn't load and with some games 4 bomds were appearing such as with Gauntlet. I took the Atari apart and blew it with a hair dryer (Atari ST unconnected from power socket) and now all the games load except for Gaauntlet. BTW, I have around 3 copies of Gauntlet and still get the 4 bombs on screen and it still won't load. I heard this is a very good game so I want to get it loaded. Does anybody have any suggestions on how I could get Gauntlet loaded on my Atari 1020 Ste without getting the 4 bombs? What do the 4 bombs mean? Any response will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Nubian. -
Hey All, I have a question. I have noticed that available are 'Refurbished' units. There are 'refurbished' units for Lynx and Neo Geo Pocket just to name a few. What exactly is a 'refurbished' unit. Is it secondhand? And why isn't it just called a USED or SECONDHAND UNIT? What exactly do they do to it to make it 'refurbished'? I'm curious. Regards, Nubian.

Has anyone heard anything about Distant Lands lately?
Nubian replied to Nubian's topic in Atari Lynx
Hello Songbird & others, I wish there was a way we could get behind this guy to finish the DISTANT LANDS Lynx game. Can you think of anything we can do Songbird? Those screenshots of Distant Lands on the Songbird website look really good. Regards, Nubian. -
Hello Rocko, Yes US$8 bucks for one Ihsido. I would like to do it cheaper but the airmail shipping is the things that takes the dough. I sold those 2 Ishido's I had on ebay for US$5.50. You can have 2 Ishdo's for US$5.00 plus $5.50 airmail. That's $10.50 for two or $8.00 for one. I bought a heap of Lynx games at this secondhand dealer and he had about 18 of the Ishidos and I have around 10 left. Sold some on ebay. I have 73 feedback one ebay @ 100%. Let me know. Regards, Daniel. (nubian)

Hey Rocko and all, I forgot to leave the ebay link to the US$5.50 Ishido X2 games. Here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW Cheers, Daniel.

Hello Rocko, I have quite a few NEW & SEALED Lynx ISHIDO games (boxed). I can let you have one for US$2.50. Unfoitunately I'd have to charge you US$5.50 for airmail as I live in Australia. If you live in Australia the shipping will only be AU$4.00. I take Paypal. I also have 2 NEW Ishido's on ebay for US$5.50 for both. The Ishido boxes are slightly squashed but all contents are NEW including the warrior bikin girl poster. Leave a post here if you are interested. Regards, Daniel.
