Commercially viable? Maybe not. But supporting a port to another platform without putting a gigantic weight on the shoulders of the developer to explicit it here to Atari, or having Atari outright slap the developer aside with a cease and desist; avoiding all of that plus actual support in good words for the developer putting old Atari games to some other platform as a homebrew projects would go a long way towards the commu nity at large building trust for the new Atari. I guess what I'm really trying to say is I hope Atari doesn't relegate it's legal relationship with homebrew developers into the trash bin the same way as Namco and Nintendo have done.

Maybe @Albert could run a vocational program as an After School Enrichment Program for 6-12 grades. Both to pass on the enthusiasm, and to recruit new builders. Oh wait,,,, that would be yet another job....

Accelerator pedal plugs into the jack on the front, and steering is done with the rotary knob. Joystick, keypad, and buttons function just like the factory Coleco controller. On the back is a power adapter which plugs into a regular wall outlet. It must be plugged in for all functions, not just the driving portion. Case is made of steel...she's heavy. Originally I had plans to make a batch of these, but during development it became clear that it was just too parts-hungry and too labor intensive. ONE copy of this prototype does exist...an enthusiast made me an offer I couldn't refuse, but there's not going to be any more. Will soon be parting with my ColecoVision and thus it's time to pass this on to someone else. There are two flaws worth mentioning: -The keypad makes a "sticky" noise when keys are pressed. -The steering control works well, but due to the small knob size it is possible to spin it TOO quickly and "confuse" the ColecoVision, preventing movement from registering. No warranty on this unit. It's a prototype, and has worked well for me with gentle, occasional use, but I can't speak for how long it would last in the hands of an angry twelve-year-old, nor how well it will hold up in the long term.
