360 Live Arcade retro titles confirmed
bruser_inc replied to dgo's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
Anyone know what the prices (points) are going to be? I don't want to be paying $10 (800 points) per game. -
Sonic Gems: How did i miss this one?
bruser_inc replied to liveinabin's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
Vectorman will be unlocked when you first play the game if you have a Sonic Heros (or Sonic Mega Collection I THINK) save on your memory card. If you don't have one of those games saved on your memory card it will unlock after 5 hours of play. Vectorman 2 unlocks after 7 hours of play (and playing Vectorman once). -
I did a download last night (which took 50 minutes), at first I thought, 'meh'. Then I went back and messed around with it, and started seeing all of the little shit that they put into it, and really started getting into it. Come payday it is going on reserve. When does it come out anyway?

Did MS put back in the free remote with the 360?
bruser_inc replied to bruser_inc's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
Still better than $80 for a wireless 360 controller with charger. I won't buy one of those damn "Play and Charge" Kits, or "Quick Charge" kits. Fuck that, I will just use the battery recharge kit I had before I bought the system. So I might have to spend 12 bucks on new batteries in a year. -
I was in Meijer shopping and found myself in with the video games, and saw that all of the 360 packages (non-core) had a gold sticker on them that said "Free Media Remote" (or something to that effect). I know that MS packed the remote with the launch (and maybe some later) systems. Did they start doing this again?

New Super Mario Bros.-Who is ready?!
bruser_inc replied to bruser_inc's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
No idea. I had just been lamenting that the "classic" level-ending music wasn't there, and then bam! I got it, and fireworks! I didn't get a chance to check my score at the end of the round (I keep forgetting about that bottom screen!) to see if it was the old criteria from the original SMB or something else. This is how you get it: End the level with 111 left in time: You get one firework and music. End the level with 222 left in time: You get two fireworks and music. Don't know if it works with 333/444, haven't done that yet. Also, I think that is how you get the different Toad houses on the world map. Your time has to end with some combo. ===================== How do you get into World 4? If I have passed my chance to get in will I have to start a new game? Some sites said something about being Mini Mario, that is all I know. EDIT: Ok, this is not entirely true. I read through another forum and found something more true. All you need to do is get double digits on the timer like 299, 344, and 177. It will work with all numbers 1-9 and it doesn't matter where you land on the pole. Well that is good to know. The only times I have gotten the fireworks and the music was with the number combos I gave. Nice. -

Anyone ready for the New Super Mario Bros. for the DS? Can't wait to get my hands on it! New 2D Mario! The retail value is $34.99, but Circuit City will have it on sale for $27.99, and Meijer has it listed at $29.99.

Has anyone released a stand alone guitar for this? Played with a Guitar Freaks one and it didn't work out that well for me. Been having a blast playing single player with my friends, but two playing at the same time would be sweet. Called the local Gamestop, maybe when the second game comes out (the guy had no f'n clue).

Ds to get hard drive? looks that way
bruser_inc replied to sega saturn x's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
A tad too rich for my blood. But very cool. -
I got a DS when the DS/Mario 64 DS bundle came out (I got it near the middle of August, if I remember right). So, it hasn't even been eight months yet and right now I am sitting at ten games. I have never had ten games for any system within eight months that I have bought new. The games I have are: Mario 64 DS, Sonic Rush, Puyo Pop Fever, Mario Kart DS, Tetris DS, Kirby: Canvas Curse Trauma Center: Under The Knife, Zoo Keeper, WarioWare: Touched!, and Meteos. I had one of the Nintendogs but sold it (it was nice, just not my thing). What is it about the DS that makes you buy the games and keep playing them? With all the Game Boy/Game Gear games I would play them till I beat it (or get sick of it) and would throw them in a box and not touch them again. With the DS I still pop each game into the system about once a week. I am sure down the line somewhere I will stop playing something but it doesn't seem like it will happen soon.

the irony is that the network to this day still uses green slime as its logo/trademark. yet no kid watching it today would have a clue to where it came from well actually kids think they know where it comes from, but they think it comes from the show Double Dare Hell most kids, 18 and under, don't know what Double Dare is.

Someplace I have a Sonic Heroes shirt sitting around collecting dust in the plastic it came in.

GBA gets $19.99 Players' Choice games!
bruser_inc replied to 128bytes's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
About time indeed. So one game is Super Mario Advance and another is Super Mario Advance 3. Nice, but where is Super Mario Advance 2? -
And? You should have checked in the first placed to see if the game was even BC. That was your mistake. Your second mistake was not seeing if you could transfer a Live account from a 360 to an Xbox before you did anything. You screwed up twice, and blame in on MS? Nice.

I bought the Xbox version just about a month ago. Got right up to Hell and gave up. I will go back and finish it (over the summer). I just couldn't get into it, it became really repetitive after about 20 minutes.

Does MS even have an offical RF Adapter for the 360? The only RF Adapter I have even seen is the Pelican one.

Sega Saturn RAM/Memory carts question
bruser_inc replied to Atariman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah...but at least the SegaCD didn't use a 2032 battery for the SRAM like the Saturn did. The battery in your Saturn dies, your game saves are gone. Another reason why I just use a memory card. I think the SCD does too, actualy. It just doesn't drain it as fast(probably the lack of an internal clock). 1004801 Maybe your are right. The SegaCD I have now I got from a friend and he got it new for Christmas back in 1993(4?). He doesn't remember ever losing his saves, or his parents changing a battery. I have never lost anything, and have had it for over a year. Maybe it is one of those things that will recharge when the system is on? Play it once in a while and you will be fine, but don't play it for a while and you lose your saves. -

Sega Saturn RAM/Memory carts question
bruser_inc replied to Atariman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You ran out of internal SRAM? I dunno how much is actually in a Saturn, or how far it goes. 1004524 The system memory is only 461. Off the top of my head I know that: NiGHTS- 227 VF2- 180 A few good sized saves and the system memory is gone. I just keep all my saves on a Sega memory card. Works better that way. -
Do you know how much you have to put down? I'm unfornuately tapped out until next week but if I can I will place my pre orders next week. BTW I got the Kiosk disc working. I blew through the Call of Duty 2 demo and played the King Kong a little bit. 1003485 $50 per system.

Thanks. It's good to be it. I've only had an orginal Xbox for a few months and now here I go with the 360. Until last year I was strictly PS2 and classic systems so I've been playing Xbox catch up. I'll usually chose a console to focus on during a generation and buy the others when they get cheap. It's likely though I'll get the PS3 and Revolution whenever they come out except I'll know to pre-order PS3 as soon as stores start taking orders. 1003417 You might want to call whatever gamestore you shop at for pre-orders. The EB here will be taking pre-orders (PS3/Rev) starting tomorrow (20th).

I went with a friend this morning to Walmart because he wanted to pick one up. They had them back in layaway (was told 12 units the other day, but ended up being around 40). When it came to my friend he got his, and then the guy asked which version I wanted and I told him premium. As we were walking out of the store, my friend said something about me not buying one till at least April. I told him that was they plan, till that moment.
