  1. I beat the first game (again) and I guess I forgot how cheesy the ending was. Still a great experience. I started a new game of ME2. Wow the graphics seem way more advanced in the second game. I didn't remember that from back in the day. The first games, remastered graphics, didn't really blow me away, but the opening of ME2 sure did. Looking forward to continuing the adventure.

That said... After playing the first game, I found myself missing some of the features of Andromeda. I know that game wasn't very well received, and I did pick it up a couple years after the launch, so maybe a lot of the initial issues were ironed out, but I really thought it was a solid entry in the series.

You can definitely customize.  I created a few faces right away when I purchased it.  The option is at the beginning where you choose the sex of the character, you can choose a default face or design your own.

AH very cool. I figure I might have missed it. Not a huge deal. I'm really enjoying my latest play through of the game. It's been almost 15 years after all.

I remember the load times used to be awful in the game, now, they take a few seconds!

  3. Just got an Xbox series X today and had the Mass Effect trilogy waiting for it when I got it home.

So far so good. I've played about 15 minutes. Can you not customize your character in this latest version? Maybe I missed it, or maybe it comes later?

One thing that strikes me about the latest system is it's pretty much exactly the same as the Xbox One, from the dashboard anyways. I plugged in my external drive and quick as pie 100s of games to play, but it was like I was looking at my Xbox One.

I know it's supposed to load faster and have better graphics, but it was pretty jarring, to go from the One yesterday and the Series X today, and it pretty much looks and functions exactly the same so far.

  4. Love this album. Back in the day, like 25+ years ago, prior to them re-releasing the album on CD (which is remastered and not the same BTW) I used to dupe a copy of the album on to cassette tape and sell it with my Atari auctions on eBay.  More than once I'd get hit up by people on the side just wanting a copy of the album.

To this day I'm convinced neither Buckner nor Garcia ever actually played the game Frogger before writing the song Froggy's Lament.

"Pluck your magic twanger, Froggy" ??? What the hell was that all about? I've played that game many times and I've never plucked anything!! ??

Oh man I would LOVE a sequel to H.E.R.O.

Ohhh yeah! That game needed a sequel for sure! There was way more they could have done with that character, especially when you consider he had a copter backpack!

Pitfall 2 was one of the best sequels ever and at the time of its release it blew me away. I think then and now I consider it one of the best Atari 2600 games. Pitfall 3 should have been a thing. I also wish they had broken up the 007 games into more fleshed out games based on the movies. I'm a sucker for movie based games, so maybe that just my biased.

  6. My memories of Apollo was they had cool art on the boxes and descriptions of games that made them out to be way more exciting than they were.

I owned Infiltrate and thought it was kind of cool, but it got hard way too quickly and way to suddenly to be much fun. I'd play it briefly every now and again.

I rented Space Cavern from the local video store, and thought it sounded awesome. I couldn't wait to play it and knew I'd be set for the weekend. Needless to say it was pretty much disappointing and after a few games I turned it off.

So, as people are opening... I gave in...

    Open the box....
I don't know what to say...  Tom, THANK YOU.  I'm speechless about this and your generosity.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU again.  It has been a pretty rough year (I'm sure for everyone) - this... really helped more than you'll know.

Merry Xmas to all! .. and now to watch the rest of the un-boxings with a tear in my eye.  Count me in for next year.

Wow! That is amazing!!! You were VERY VERY good this year!!

Wow, I've played the series from the beginning, but never heard some one pick out Syndicate as anything exceptional.

That all changed with the creation of this thread!

I'm a completest and like to explore and find everything in an area of a game until I move on to the next. I was having trouble getting all the glitches in the first area, to the point I had to look it up. It made sense I was missing the grappling hook. I always thought the characters moved around similar to Spider Man, more so now that I have that grappling hook! Of course Spider Man never ran around assassinating people in the street!

Count me in as a Syndicate fan! Hey moycon, you might get a giggle out of my trip ....

Wow that was a very cool video! I've never been to London but recognize many of those places from the game. Syndicate really is a beautiful game. Video game worlds have come a long way!

  10. I've continued playing this, I've only played as a guy except for missions where I didn't have a choice. I may switch off though I think. The world does feel very lived in which is mainly why I bought it. Although unlike say Skyrim, most people can't be interacted with except maybe to push them out of the way. LOL  It's still great fun. I haven't really played the older ones enough to have any opinion of them. I do have several of them I was always going to play, but you know how that goes. I have 100's of games like that!

  11. This is probably 5 years too late but I just started playing the game thanks to a YouTube personality that listed it in his top 10 lived in game worlds.

I've never been a big Assassin's Creed fan, only playing a couple of past games maybe a couple hours. I didn't think they were terrible, but they also didn't captivate me enough to keep playing.

I've probably played Syndicate the most and I like it. It kind of reminds of newer Tomb Raider games in some parts. I've heard terrible things about past Assassin's Creeds games in the past (glitches, bugs, etc..) but haven't encountered anything like that so far. Anyone else play this game? Do you like it? Are there better games in the series?

  12. I don't have much to add mainly because I only played the game a couple times and it was years and years ago, but I always thought this game looked AMAZING. More so for it's time. I remember being in awe of those graphics looking at the screen shots.

I saw the AVGN review in the past but never really take him seriously. I mean that IS the schtick of the character, to point out all the things wrong with a game. LJN games have taken the brunt of the abuse from that character, but many of those games are actually fun, so I take what he says with a grain of salt every time!

  13. Just when you thought 2020 couldn't get any worse. I feel your pain, my wives mother is in her final stages of alzheimer's so we've been driving to Pittsburg weekly, and my father is in the VA trying to get his gall bladder removed. He'll probably be in there weeks prior to that happening because his gut is so full of sepsis.  In short get well quick because I can't handle any more bad news.

  14. I loved Adventure as a kid. I can remember in the back of video game magazines in the 80s, shops would list new releases and Adventure 2 started showing up for sale. From what I recall they were referring to was the new Swordquest game, which is a far cry from great fun. I always wanted a sequel. It's sad one or more never happened.
