  1. Is Bob Klaas still around? He used to repair these.
  2. Is it Christmas season already?
  3. Has anybody heard of this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5114518979&rd=1
  4. My two cents: It would be cheaper and more compatible with software to get a XL or XE computer with 64K than to go to the effort of upgrading a 400 with the old OS and then you still only have 48K and can't run a 64K game.
  5. Mot, or you could build your own: http://www.atarimagazines.com/v4n7/morsecode.html
  6. Lets all get new eBay ids and bid it up to a million or two
  7. Mot, I am only a collector and never had a Ham radio nor had this unit operational. This information is from the instructions: "Now the menu will be displayed giving you the choice of three transmit/receive modes, (MORSE,RTTY, ACSII)....." I think you are correct. The Hamtext program takes advantage of the computer environment, using the Atari to buffer, translate, print and save files.
  8. Its been a few years since I acquired this thing. Don't remember if I tried it at all, but its meant to link the Atari through the interface to a Ham Radio. So you need the Interface AND a Ham radio setup. There is really no point in hooking up the Interface only, since you can't send or receive anything. Again, the way I understand it, there were several interface boxes available, so you may find a completely different one.
  9. There were several different manufacturers of interfaces that work with Atari, commodore, apple etc. Dug out my box turns out that I have the same exact cart version as yours.
  10. This is not a loaner. The early carts are bare boards. Later they put them in cases. Nothing much happens when you test it because a Computer Interface for the HAM radio must be attached to the Atari for it to do anything.
  11. Baking Soda. Put the stuff in a closed container with an open box of Baking Soda which soaks up odors. Its worth a try.
  12. Apparently he won a bunch of auctions and then within a few minutes gave negative feedback to all the sellers. Was für ein Arsch Well its the same in English!
  13. Had good luck with a recent trade from the UK. Both packages took exactly 1 week to arrive via airmail. Was a little on the high side, over $6 to ship a single cart. Registered would be considerably more and is actually slower because of the paperwork required along the way.
  14. Nathan does a great job. You can read his comments here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=52650
  15. Thank you Mr Bacardi. I'll have to give them a try when I get time. PS. What? No Drelbs?
  16. Did these games (Essex and Mindwheel) require two disk drives? Probably the reason I never got them. Didn't have the $200 for another drive.
  17. Up to $400! Hey, thats only $7.37 Qubed
  18. Disgusting Obnoxious Management ?
  19. Excellent. Good to see some recognition that is outside the retrogaming sphere. Who knows, maybe the article will inspire someone who never considered it before.
  20. Yes. If you look in the scan under the screen (L'scran), the instructions say it in that way "Le Chateau de MR. DO!" .
  21. I like it *dons fire retardent suit in anticpation of flames*
  22. I am with Albert on this. This auction is not clearly written as some here claim. Compare to a video game auction for a box. The seller always puts in the description something like "This is for the box only. No game is included" The seller here clearly intended to deceive.
  23. Yeah, cheap re-releases that you would see at the K-mart in the late eighties. K-mart? that was a store before Wal-mart
  24. Natuarally, one immediately shows up for auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8106119681&rd=1 But then "My auctions are not open to north American bidders" Although he is shipping to "United Kingdom, Middle East, Mexico and Central America, Africa, South America, Asia, Australasia, Europe, Caribbean"
  25. Are these different versions? Always thought is was the same cart in a different box. In fact, AFAIK, Creative Sparks and Thorn are the same. It was just a marketing campaign.
