  1. It is time for a geeky collector question. Boxes for Sierra On-Line carts have a silver sticker on them. The sticker indicates for “Atari Home Computers” or “Atari Version”, then “ROM CARTRIDGE” , sometimes they have a programmer name on them too. The last item always on there is an SRL number. At first, I thought this was some kind of catalog number, however, several of the boxes have the same number on them. Here is a list of what I have: Jawbreaker II (SRL 212) Learning with Leeper (SRL 327) Mr. Cool (SRL 217) Crossfire (SRL 307) BC's Quest for Tires (SRL 327) Oil's Well (SRL 327) Any ideas on what those numbers mean?
  2. I don't have a spare, however, Andrew Krieg shows one for trade. I don't know if his site is up to date. He seems to be rather inactive in recent years.
  3. David, don't ask me. My total French knowledge comes from a few weeks in europe in the late eighties. How about Chateau de Do? Yeah that's the ticket
  4. I guess "Monsieur Do's Chateau" sounded too much like an old horror movie.
  5. The languages are equal. One printed upside down relative to the other, so either can face the front. The only other information to be gleaned is on the warranty page. The address given for returns is 7883 Keele Street, Concord , Ontario. Therefore, I feel comfortable saying that this was indeed a limited release from PB in Ontario.
  6. I'll do pages 2 and 3 so that you can see that it is the cartridge version. It is 12 pages: 6 in French and 6 in English. The kind of booklet that you just flip over vertically to get to the other language. It is 1984 copyright. Unfortunately, there is no PB catalog number anywhere that I can see.
  7. Mr. Do!'s cartridge release confirmed. Instructions found. |
  8. Actvision Disk titles Ghostbusters Great American Cross-Country Road Race, The Hacker Master Of The Lamps Music Studio, The Mindshadow Any others?
  9. Dan Vernon recommends Clearpic from Bob Wooley, revised again recently so its Clearpic 2002 (!). See http://retrobits.net/ I don't know anything about the 1200xl so this is not a recommend from me, just FYI.
  10. See http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.p...t=41580&start=0 This question comes up every month. Pay attention!
  11. Actually the 1 feedback is also a high dollar bid for a Sierra title http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8102208776 So the seller may well collect the dough.
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=8103019861 DP guide $6 - R3
  13. I bought my first disk drive, a 1050, for about $150 (1984?). After Tramiel took over, they sold the huge surplus of stock at deep discounts. This wasn't "cheap", probably $300 in today's money, but well worth the time savings over cassettes. My admiration goes to the Brits who have the patience to load those 48k cassettes that I see up for auction.
  14. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...MEBWA%3AIT&rd=1 Went pretty high!
  15. I send them to Microsoft.
  16. You don't know about shrinkage? Its still cold in MI.
  17. Yes, it is Zone Ranger. You both win a free ... well, nothing. CC-103 "Toy Bazzare" They didn't release it because of the strange spelling, too bizarre. But seriously, I can't say that I have ever run across a mention of an unreleased Activision 8-bit title. There must be a few. Maybe someone at Activision knows. Ken Love, are you there?
  18. Pop Quiz: One Activision title is missing. What is it?
  19. Q. Were disk drives and diskettes that expensive in Europe that the cassette format persisted for so long? In the states, cassettes were common 1980-1982 but declined rapidly after that.
  20. I highly recommend that everyone stop collecting carts and start collecting cassettes. They are the next big thing!
  21. There is the original brown label, of course. Also, an XL silver edition. I am not sure whether the silver one contains any program changes. And also the XE era Red letter version. On disk, there is Atariwriter+ and Atariwriter 80 for use with the XEP80. Some older brown carts do look black, but I always refer to them as brown.
  22. A little sticker shock for you The official price for the Atari 825 printer on January 1, 1982 was $799.95 Actually its worse than that. Adjusted to 2002 dollars, it would be about $1520! Ah the good old days
  23. What does the box for this one look like? I've always been curious. Tempest http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.p...ghlight=#365277
