  1. Here's one: Mint 5200 Lets see what outrageous ePay price it sells for.
  2. Go for it. I would be interested if the tapes have a CX or some other catalog number. I've never seen a listing. Perhaps a UK member can help? now playing the elusive Crystal Castles on my 800xl,
  3. Here is an auction for a Pole Position tape: Pole Position Tape Later,
  4. Mot, You need: 9 V AC 4.5 VA (500 mA) Atari#CO61516 Very useful is Michael Current's FAQ Power Requirements
  5. Tempest, its a good question. I have seen Activision on tape. Recall a Pitfall II and at least one other. The common sequence was a disk title in the US followed by a cassette in Europe and then perhaps a cart version. Still, Atari sold cassettes of carts like Chess and Pole Position in Europe. Price must have been the reason. Carts cost $35-$45 new while cassettes were $20-$30. They could sell more cassettes despite the inconvenience of loading.
  6. The most impressive 2600 collection I have seen listed on the web: Rick Weis Collection
  7. Cutter, Thanks for the confirmation on coin-op dev and the explanation of Forth. Think I understand it a little better now. You can include software like the Assem Editor in with the Forth compile. What about hardware chips? For instance, to develop for the 8-bit on some other machine, wouldn't someone have to develop routines to emulate Antic and Pokey ?
  8. Cutter, what Forth are you using? Seem to recall reading that Atari Arcade games were done in Forth and cross-assembled on a DEC VAX. Of course, memory may fail me and this may be all wrong .
  9. quote More Atari docs Then you'll need "De Re Atari" too
  10. quote You are right. I need to improve my reading comprehension . The video was probably for promotional reasons. There was a lot of advertising for this game. As far as someone actually doing this game, it could potentially be the best selling "modern" release ever. Hmm, Mr. Hogue seems to have done a lot of work emulating his old setup and getting into the 6502 again. Bill?
  11. Albert, it doesn't state the whereabouts of Scraper Caper on the website, but someone posted Bill Hogue's email in the newsgroup Bill Hogue email Did not remember the video tape part. Recall that VCRs were sometimes used as backup systems. Hope that there is actual code on the tape and not just video out. The website has more pages than I first thought. Miner, BBSB etc each have history, package, and technical page. Getting back to the original question, the website does state specifically that he wanted to avoid disk versions because of piracy.
  12. No disk version on BBSB, AFAIK. Bill Hogue put up a website a couple months ago: Big Five Software Has a BBSB emulator for download, so you can at least play it that way. Most revealing fact was that Scraper Caper and another unnamed version were essentially complete, but unreleased. Sadly, these versions are rotting away on some backup tape for the machine that Hogue rigged for development.
  13. They are not common, but not ER either. I would rate it a 5 out of 10. A 1000 sounds low, but maybe they sold very few initially and a lot of old stock remained. This would mean that not very many are in the attic, the basement etc and not very many were thrown away or destroyed. Otherwise there was another run that the seller doesn't know about. He sounds honest.
  14. Mr Gaskill's list is from the only known Romox catalog. Romox only existed for about 2 years. The ECPC system was around for even less time. One might even question if all the games in the catalog made to market. I only collect 8-bit stuff and most of the ECPC titles are available in some form, but others would indeed be interesting to find.
  15. Can scan it when I get time. (Gunstar, feel free to do it if convenient.) I wonder if they actually had a cart or disk of the program for review. Or was it just Atari hype. Okay I think its 32 XE carts. Will consider the other three label variations listed as mistakes. Well, unless one shows up . This thread mentions gray case, silver labels. Sometime, I'll try to compile a list of those and bug everybody again.
  16. Check Andrew Krieg's list: Kreig's 8-bit list 800 only carts are marked by an asterisk.
  17. The XE Demo is real. Atari sent these to dealers. But, as noted, its a silver label and technically not a released cart, so I did not include it in the list. There are also grey case, silver label carts. Football, Jungle Hunt, Pole Position etc were re-issued for the XEGS in that form, but I wasn't referring to those either. I have the Explorer with the Xenophobe and Deflector reviews. It sounds like they were already available! Unfortunately, they were never released, AFAIK. BTW- Anyone have the RX8xxx catalog #s for those? Part of the reason for my original question: In the label variation section, Andrew Krieg lists: Jungle Hunt grey case, blue label Moon Patrol grey case, blue label Super Breakout grey case, blue RX8006 label Never seen or heard of these. Perhaps someone got them mixed up with the grey case, silver carts? Anybody seen them?
  18. I am referring to Atari blue label carts that came in the small blue boxes during the XEGS period. Has anybody seen a title other than these? RX8031 Donkey Kong (ex rare!) RX8039 Eastern Front RX8063 Rescue on Fractalus RX8064 Ballblazer RX8077 Battlezone RX8078 Star Raiders II RX8079 Food Fight RX8081 Blue Max RX8082 Lode Runner RX8083 David's Midnight Magic RX8084 Hardball RX8085 Fight Night RX8086 Barnyard Blaster RX8087 Bug Hunt RX8088 Crossbow RX8089 Desert Falcon RX8090 GATO RX8091 Flight Simulator II RX8092 Archon RX8093 One-on-One Basketball RX8095 Karateka RX8096 Choplifter! RX8098 Summer Games RX8099 Ace of Aces RX8101 Dark Chambers RX8102 Crystal Castles (ex rare!) RX8103 Mario Bros. RX8104 Crime Buster RX8108 Necromancer RX8109 Airball RX8113 Thunderfox RX8114 Into the Eagle's Nest BTW- That's 32 altogether.
  19. Maybe these "tester" boeards would work? eBay - Atari 2600 Prototype Tester PCB
  20. William Gaskill's TI site lists all the titles that were available Romox Catalog Hard to find info!
  21. quote: Originally posted by jahfish: don't think it will reappear on ebay. some of the hottest box collectors were bidding on that one ..... Seems the buyer was after the box and is now selling his Glib cart: Ebay GLIB auction Your chance to get one under $300
