  1. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4&category=1443 At least thats what the seller says someone was offered for one.
  2. Its always a good idea to forward these to spoof@ebay.com You never no they may nail the guy.
  3. Okay found it. The review is from the October 1984 of Telematch. Yes, the whole eprom thing is mysterious. The Tigervision games were announced at the summer CES of 1983. The parent (Tiger Toys) supposedly pulled the plug shortly after that, but apparently there was still development going on more than a year later. Notice the seller mentions he has other prototypes. So maybe those other games are not lost. Heaven, keep going with the translation One paragraph a day and it will soon be done
  4. Ich denke ich das email mit Zeitschrift review(?) habe, aber ich muß nach ihm suchen. I will post it when I get a chance to search!
  5. I was sent the following review of Matterhorn. My translation would be a little rough due to lack of practice and knowledge of expressions. So perhaps someone out there might like to try it.
  6. Rob, Ones you'll get eventually ------------------------------- Attack of the Mutant Camels - HES (a tough one, though) Typo -Romox (these usually show up a couple times a year) Star Maze - Roklan (hmm 2 or 3 of these auctioned this year) Others ------- Spark Bugs -Romox Arrgh! Had to buy a big lot in order to get one with a damaged label. Flapper -Romox I reclassified this as ECPC, since no one has ever seen the label. Capture the Flag -Sirius (Have never seen) No one has seen it, so its off my list. NR Espial- Tigervision (owned at one time and sold ;o( Matterhorn- Tigervision (owned at one time and sold ;o( Yeah, yeah we know the whole story
  7. The utility carts like those mentioned by AlanD are the rarest carts. However, in my experience, the rare games like Flip Flop, Star Maze and Mr TNT, Espial, Matterhorn etc go for higher prices and the bidding is more competitive. My rarest? Maybe Drumesiser (utility) and Mr Do!'s Castle (game).
  8. The 16 educational tapes were developed by Dorsett and marketed under the Atari brand name. This was in 1979-80. Soon the two companies agreed to desolve the arrangement. I don't know the reason for that. It may have been sales or the fact that Dorsett soon had dozens of titles. Dorsett then came out with their own cartridge, as David says. It is the same as Atari's CXL4001. I've never known what the Master cartridge actually does exactly. There seem to be almost as many different labels for Dorsett's D4001 as there are carts. For the record here is a list of the cassettes: CX6001 U.S. History CX6002 U.S. Government CX6003 Supervisory Skills CX6004 World History CX6005 Basic Sociology CX6006 Counseling Procedures CX6007 Principles of Accounting CX6008 Physics CX6009 Great Classics CX6010 Business Communications CX6011 Basic Psychology CX6012 Effective Writing CX6013 not released CX6014 Principles of Economics CX6015 Spelling CX6016 Basic Electricity CX6017 Basic Algebra
  9. Mentioning a price doesn't make it non-negotiable, i.e., "Offering $25 negotiable" I agree, its not always true. By not mentioning a price, the hope is that someone will offer to sell at less than anticipated. That's a fair enough strategy. I've just had too many instances of digging stuff out of boxes , taking pictures, sending emails for nothing. A lot of it was for fairly low dollar amounts too.
  10. I never respond to WTB posts unless they actually mention a price that they want to pay. If they don't, most likely they are just fishing around for free or almost free stuff. Not that I have any "Plastation"
  11. I am sure that Rob knows this, but to others who may try a Chalkboard cart, they are 400/800 only titles.
  12. Chess is rarer than 007 or Gyruss, but usually the price is not high. You can arrange these three any way you want. Maybe Chess seperately and the other two arcade games together makes the most sense.
  13. Here's how I would break it down: 1- Mr. Do's Castle 2- Frogger II: Threedeep 3- Gyruss 4- James Bond 007 & Chess 5- Star Wars: RotJ-DSB & Star Wars: The Arcade Game 6- Frogger, Q*Bert. Popeye, Super Cobra, Astrochase More auction is also more publicity. With Nir's new label on MDC, I would not hazard a guess on the value.
  14. Not auction MDC seperately? I assume this is your repro cart. Still would lean toward seperate auctions for at least some of them. Star Wars collectors will bid on the those two carts. The pair in boxes would make a nice auction.
  15. In the ebay forum, somebody pointed out this auction out. Interesting that the Qberts Qubes instructions say "Atari Computers Disk" Never even heard a rumor about it for the 8-bit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...bayphotohosting
  16. Deadline and especially Starcross which came in a flying saucer! Seen those sell for $300 or more. Not sure about any others. I think Zork was always rather plain. Any Infocom experts out there?
  17. Not mine. These are great. Only show up once in a blue moon. Later to save cost Infocom switched to the familiar gray boxes, but many of the original releases had very creative packaging. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...agename=rvi:1:1 Love to have one, but usually they go through the roof.
  18. Nice labels. And the 8-bit only gets a brown label Maybe I'll make one form the contest winner
  19. To elaborate, the box says cartridge on a little yellow sticker. This appears to be a mistake. They just put a sticker on all boxes. In fact, it is the only thing that identifies the product as for the Atari. A cartridge makes no sense because the routines on disk are assembler and BASIC. You would need a programming cart plugged in to use them. In short, there is no reason for a cartridge unless they had their own programming language. Deleted it from my list. Since no one had one, I examined the product announcements in Analog (or maybe it was Antic). All other titles were announced, but "Leos Links" was never mentioned! It probably got on the Atari list because there is a C64 version.
  20. Its on the cart lists including mine as Expando-Vision from Stimultech. Do you have more than one kind of cart or are they just in the literature?
  21. Okay, ya caught me! I was just practicing up for my upcoming line of pirate carts  Gone to start up with some pirates and then expanding into fake prototypes ( the big money). Ah, early retirement...
  22. Okay, I thought we were only looking for SSB (small silver boxes). The small black ones were issued both early (1980) and late (XE 1987 ?). I'll try to start a thread and maybe we can cover all Atari game boxes. There are BBB (big black), SBB (small black), MSB(Medium silver), SSB(Small Silver) and XEB (XE blue).
  23. Sounds like a another little survey coming up. Here is what I have. Note the weird monochrome PENGO box. Any others?
