  1. I use my speaker hat nearly every day when I go for walks around my neighborhood. I got it with the VCS bundle at a really good price earlier in the year and I've been quite pleased with it. I've worn earbuds and headphones for too many years so it's nice to not have anything covering my ears and I can actually be aware of my surroundings outside. Would have I bought one without the bundle, no. But I see it as nice bonus that just so happens to be Atari branded.
  2. Those are all phenomenal games and there's still a ton more to enjoy on that system. I think a huge part of why I got into a console depended on its arcade ports or arcade style games. Atari, Colecovision, and especially The Genesis (Mega Drive) all satisfied that aspect of gaming. I should also mention that the Sega 3D Classics on the 3DS (or any other port M2 touches) are one of the finest ways to play some of the best classic arcade/Genesis games, and are a great merging of modern tech with old games.
  3. I love the Atari stand alones, still having my Video Pinball hooked up, but I can't get into all the other systems of that era. The 7800, Colecovision, and Famicom with disk system keep me happy on the early gaming front. I've had a Sega Master System, Odyssey 2, and Intellivision (w/The Intellivoice, ECS, and Keyboard) and just never got the systems. I still have my C64 and Atari 800XL, but I dropped my TI99. I even had the MBX add on for the TI, but couldn't justify keeping it with only and handful of games and maybe 1 or 2 of those being good. Someone else mentioned loving the Genesis over the SNES and i'm in that boat as well. Except for Super Metroid, the SNES' library just never hooked me and that sound chip really bugged me. The Genesis may have been noisy, but that Yamaha FM sound just sounds so cool. The N64 was just too ugly graphically for me to enjoy getting into it. I just parted with my PS1 and Saturn so I'm pretty much done with collecting for that time. Of the modern stuff, I have a PS3, PSP, Wii, Wii U, and 3DS. I have them mostly since I can build up their Digital only and Virtual Consoles without packing my shelves with more stuff.
  4. Cool! I've used the C64 and Atari Synthcarts on stage in various roles. They always got funny looks, especially when I ran them through Kaoss Pads.

    Buys

  6. I like mine. There's a vast Neo Geo library including arcade games from before the MVS/AES era. There's some really good collections including Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. You have access to loads of past PS1 games US and Japan. It's also is a really good Blu-Ray and Streaming machine. It's an all around machine and why I haven't/won't part with mine.
  7. Definitely! I'll pm you with a list and go from there.
  8. I'll be there Friday or Saturday, so if you need anything those days let me know. And I've got a few games I'd love to buy and pick up while you're there.
  9. in regards to the Houston show, i'll be there.
  10. I'm going to go out on a limb and ask if Girl's Garden is still for sale?
  11. Congrats to the winners! Now when do we get to spend some money and enjoy this sweet game (aside from early builds)?
  12. Final Selection round sounds super deadly serious . I don't know if I can take this level of excitement. Seriously, I have a bad ticker. Maybe some gentle sounding process. Like, "most pleasant upon one's eye grouping".
  13. I was thinking Nathan should update his label with "HOT, Two player action!" In fact, any label with a woman on it should have that... and yes, I'm that sad...
  14. I really need a Smash TV arcade machine. It's been years since i've visited a Pleasure Dome...

Not sure if you want to play any home ports, but the XBox 360 one is very good.

The PS2 version always worked for me, but I just played the arcade recently and it's too much fun, even more so with a buddy. I LOVE Robotron, but man that game just hates me.

  15. Here's a peak at one more label i should have in by the deadline, unless i just jinxed myself.
  16. Thanks! Ink, then watercolor, which had I been smarter I would have gone pencil first, so I could have covered my mistakes easier.
  17. I'd like to have me a version of Canyon Climber on the 2600. I love it on my 8bit, but don't like the load times as much.
  18. Megamania Pitfall II Juno First Duck Attack Video Olympics Warlords Super Breakout Asteroids Berzerk Demon Attack
  19. I just picked up Canyon Climber on cassette for my 8-bit. I've had an article on that game forever in an old issue of Joystick, so i figured i'd give it a go.
  20. Basic Programming has that "future we never got" look to it that i'll always love. And i'll always dig the early Activision art. Those cartoony screen shots with the rainbows were just too cool.
